Love, Murder, Passion...in the heat of the night what is unresolved comes to the fore. After our maiden voyage into the unknown last spring, on our continuing expedition we find ourselves entering into the fantastical world of a bedroom jockey with a sublimely over active imagination. First on the A-side is 'Heat Crime' a dreamy half reverie that unfurled itself near the end of a late night session. Through misty intimations it gradually took shape, stirring delight in its receptive translator. In the beginning it was an unformed mood but through toil and mishap it became music. It was underived, but its cousins and aunts are the forgotten and quietly enchanting soundtracks to Ms Marple, Hercule Poirot and their ilk, who drip mystery and beauty unannounced calling the heart to attention. The second track on the A-side is 'Moon Letters' a crescent lit jazz nocturne, evoking visions of stormy seas on a far off globe, Two parts euphoria to one part melancholy, it is a highly composed piece of rave revival. On the flip Peter plunges 'Heat Crime' into the paranoid depths of near psychosis, only to re-emerge with triumphant redemption. Take a little trip with us, Love, The KR-Family

Tracklist
A1 Somebody A2 Lonely Baby B1 The Stormy Search B2 The Stormy Search (Marquis Hawkes)
AUS Music continue to bolster an ever expanding roster BY uncovering an adroit and unique producer - the Dublin born Timothy Blake. Blake is an artist with a growing reputation, as evidenced by releases for the likes of Dirt Crew, Fatty Fatty Phonographics and Kleine Reise. For his first ever outing on AUS he teams up with man of the moment Marquis Hawkes in delivering 'The Stormy Search' EP."
Now residing in Berlin, Blake's idiosyncratic productions have been described as 'joyous freewheeling Funk' by Infinite State Machine as sounding 'like Stephen King decided to start making house music' (Trevor O'Shea Bodytonic) and also 'kinda like some lost Prince demos from an alternate world' according to Golf Channel's Dan Selzer. That goes part way to elucidating his creations and - as you'd expect from these descriptions his latest offering is a meld of jubilant synth lines, bumping 909 drums and Funk-indebted bass grooves.
Having originally made the introduction to Will Saul which eventually led to the record - Marquis Hawkes offers up a remix of the title track which he additionally co-produced. Also on remix duties of the title track - Hawkes does as he does best in dimming the tenor, driving percussion through purring tape machines and adding in the signature dose of granular soul that's been his calling card throughout releases on Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, Houndstooth, Clone and Créme Organisation.

timothy blake - haunting passion
After seducing the likes of Optimo, Horse Meat Disco, Rub'N'Tug and Bicep with their floor-friendly reworks of classic disco, funk and electro, the lads over at Fatty Fatty Phonographics are expanding their repertoire with their first 12 inch of original material. The man they've chosen for this mission, Tim Blake, is a Dublin born music maker with a bank of vintage keyboards and drum machines in his spare room and a full blooded romantic's heart beating in his chest. Now based in Berlin, his debut 'Heat Crime' EP came out on Kleine Reise Records, a label run by a set of Irish messers who throw some of the city's very best parties, and a track on the recent Dirt Crew Recordings 10th anniversary compilation has helped spread the word about this special talent further. 'United States of Hinterland' in its demo form was described as 'The Shit' by none other than Mad Mike Banks of Underground Resistance and you can see why - banks of emotive, UR drenched synths and pads married to overpowering piano chords, wild psychedelic guitar, crazed drum patterns and an unmistakeable 21st Century P-Funk squelch. Pablo and Shoey have their fun with the track on the flip, upping the ante with a big fat 303 assault while retaining the elements that make the original such a trip. The package is rounded off nicely with a hypnotic dub for the Dj's, not to mention 'Haunting Passion', a churning, yearning deep house roller that pushes all the right buttons for the modern dancefloor. You can imagine this one cooling the dancers off at 6am, or providing just the right soundtrack for a blissed out summer sunset moment...

Shortinfo:
Following 2013's fantastical 'Heat Crime', Tim further explores his unique take on house music with two original tracks which make stylistic nods to the past but lead us elatedly to a place of uncommon and personal vision. On the A side we have 'Squiggles', a late night piece of tentacled whimsy. A joyful frolic in a fishy stream under the stars and in the Japanese garden of your soul. 'Like U Want Me 2' is a missive from yearning loins to a beloved recipient, "whilst we're both on earth in these fleshy suits". An unminced declaration of desire from one luminous blue erotic body to another. On the B side we found just the creature to flip Tim's script and deliver a singular rework. The Mole burrows further than we ever expected, dragging 'Squiggles' into unexplored territory deep within his underground tunnel network and having his way with it for the length of a short film. Timothy Blake is an Irish born electronic musician based in Berlin. After some years building up his studio and knowledge in the early to mid 90s, Tim began attempting to emulate the prevalent disco sounds of late 90s dance music, inadvertently developing his own sound. Later absorbing the atmospheric and stylistic influence of filmmakers such as Robert Altman, Nicolas Roeg and Brian de Palma, Tim felt inspired to make music reflecting similar moods and themes. By the mid 2000s Tim was a regular feature on Dublin's live music and DJ circuit. Following projects that didn't come to fruition with early influences Derrick May and Mad Mike Banks, he beat a retreat from the clubbing scene and concentrated on his compositions. However a later move to Berlin has seen Tim find a voice with releases on Kleine Reise Records, Dirt Crew, Fatty Fatty Phonographics and Lectric Sands NY.

Tagline: Sync with nature's pulse and love shall heave First on the A we have the title track; 'Love Heave' perpetuating the pelvic funk. Sync with the pulse, share in it's groove and ride the heave wave. Next on the A-side we come across the results of a mad-capped mastermind, conjured from the confines of a cold bath, Hrdvsion slices and dices 'Buffalo' to mesmerisingly meaty proportions. On the flip we find 'The Jangle'. Darkness has set upon the jungle floor, at the full mercy of the elements we quiver, tremble and shake. Take your cues from mother nature, she does it well. Hear the rattle of the chains and of the bells. Lastly on the B-side we come to 'Buffallo'. An expedition into the warped depths of a long forgotten land, where wild buffalo roam it's haunted plains.
