Cole Medina turns up the disco heat in this latest release from FBNM, kicking things off with Tropical Funk, a pumped up instrumental disco odyssey ala Mike Theodore's Cosmic Wind. Fused with a sequenced bass groove and littered with funky percussive rhythms, brass flutters and stabs, he successfully paints a modern portrait of some classic moon boogie! Bristolian newcomer Admin nudges up the pitch fader on his Tropical Funk remix edging the track further into house territory. He extends the bass and percussive rhythm sections retaining it's disco roots and perfects his version with a chunky acidic bassline breakdown that will really work your woofers. Heading up the B side is Make Your Body Move, an up tempo electro boogie track reminiscent of the best Midnight Star, Complete with a vocoded chorus and male/female vocal trades! With early support from some of the edit scenes biggest players already, this plodding beast will not fail to do as intended! Finally Cole brings us the soundtrack to the baddest bank heist that ever went down, the big one, the Grand Union Depository! Taking his samples from some rather obscure late 70s cosmic disco (clues to the track have already been mentioned), he works some real magic transforming them into Big Pimpin', a heavy hitting slow mo funk groove ready to make you feel just like the meanest son of a gun that you really are...

YSE Saint Laur'Ant returns with Saudade, an EP that digs deep into groove-rich territories, effortlessly blending genres and inspirations. Side A opens with an intriguing cut that merges gospel flair with ESG-inspired rhythms, driven by raw beats and a bassline that hooks instantly. Following up is Special, where YSE’s long-time collaborator adds soft, spacey vocals over a supremely laid-back groove, creating a floating, heady vibe. Whiskey Disco #74 follows up Michael The Lion’s stellar single with a return to classic Whiskey Disco form; a mix of somewhat recognizable samples tweaked for the floor or the poolside.

Summer is in full swing and so are the artists on the latest Whiskey Disco ode to summer parties. The A side showcases a long lost gem from Cole Medina that never quite saw the light of day. It’s a longtime honour to be able to put this song on the label and we can’t wait to have a loud 45 side in our hands to drop at the choicest of rooftop parties, poolside, beachside, or to break the tension after a dirty underground session. On the flip, we see Love Athletics breaking out with All of My Love, a cheeky vocal sample underpinned by a rocking bass groove and high hats that are more than a nod to Sex Shooter. The flanged groove will be perfect for day or night tie parties. Closing out, label boss, Sleazy McQueen provides an all analog cut up with palpitating drums and hypnotic grooves, with a nice surprise to break things up a bit.

Coming Back Strong marks the milestone 75th vinyl release on Whiskey Disco and the first solo EP from label head Sleazy McQueen since 2020. The A-side seamlessly blends deep house and disco, featuring the rhythmic mastery and evolving builds of Terry Grant, a long-standing Bedrock contributor who has recently been showcasing his skills alongside Luke Solomon’s various projects. On the B-side, High On A Mountain delivers an energetic and percussive disco workout, with subtle tribal undertones. Closing out the EP, Coming Strong is a groovy, disco-infused house track that wraps up this release on a high note.

Michael The Lion and Natasha Kitty Katt began collaborating as Natasha found a second home in Philadelphia. The two have a mutual love of classic disco and found a kindred spirit in Suki Soul, who has been tearing up the scene the last few years in Northern England. I Found Peace features Michael on guitar and Natahsha on drum machines and synths alongside Michael’s long-time studio band mates. Classical composer and legendary Pittsburgh hip hop producer Jules Krishnamurti adds bass guitar and University of Pennsylvnia jazz ensemble leader Dan Paul plays keyboards on this incredible modern disco classic. Pontchartrain brings all the right touches to the club mix, along side some heavy house mixes by Tonarunur (aka B.G. Baarregaard) to round out the first Whiskey Disco release in several years.

Kicking things off on the a-side is The Silver Rider with 'Roundhouse,' a reworking of a stone-cold classic that injects club ready beats and high energy vibes into some very recognizable sample sources. Next up, TSR keeps the energy, but adds a sunkissed breeze to the mix with 'You're The One,' a super smooth and groovy number perfect for top-down cruising or pool side jamming.

Flip it over for a powerful pair of cuts from Bustin' Loose... the founder of London's, The Disco Express party series and a burgeoning producer with previous releases on Toy Tonics and Roux Records. 'These Ol' Days' gets us started with proper warm up tackle as a silky, filtered loop evolves and opens atop funky guitar loops and sultry vocals. The mysterious Kayroy returns to Whiskey Disco for his second EP of 2019. Fans of his first EP will find more of the same, a raw, pastiche of samples glued together into a package of hands-up disco fire.
'Rosella' rolls along with a natural tendency to groove underpinned by trippy effects and classic piano and vocal riffs. 'You’re the Reason Why', lowers the tempo and amps up the vibes.
The B-Side is a sped-up departure from previous Kayroy fare, but sounds just as natural. 'Silk & Satin' seems like the type of track one might hear in nearly any Harvey set, while 'One Night in Prague' raised the tempo and will have your pulse racing with its relentless bass.
