Tripeo raises a voice for change on his new album “Green Is the New Red“ (BASLP03). “The great thing about (electronic) music is that it’s the most universal art form there is“, says the Dutch producer. “It transcends lingual and cultural barriers more than any other cultural expression and can be a catalyst for change.“ The sound of the coming revolution is manifold: Starting off with A1 “Hope in the Dark“, a soft melody unfolds. B2 “Shifting the Overtone Window“ stands out as the most bass-heavy track, with techno as its musical blueprint. Further into the album, C3 “Fridays For Future“, the artist openly states his sympathy with the global youth movement. His vision for the protest is lo-fi in sound and courageous in mood. Never angry, this album creates urgency without uttering a word.

Traditionally, Darko Esser's outings as Tripeo have tended towards the hypnotic and trance inducing. It's notable, then, that his latest EP - the first Tripeo 12-inch for 18 months - mixes things up a little. "Food For Thought", for example, fixes melancholic, Convextion style musicality to crunchy, EBM-influenced techno drums, while the fuzzy, dirt-encrusted "Resist" sees the producer give deep electro an angular, lo-fi makeover. "Tuesday Blues", meanwhile, sees him stack layer upon layer of positive electronic melodies atop rubbery, Afro-house influenced techno drums before Bassiani/Horoom resident HVL rounds things off with his skittish, breakbeat-powered revision of "Food For Thought", which sounds like a giddy blast from the past despite the poignant nature of Esser's melodies.

Wolfskuil founder Tripeo aka Darko Esser presents four esoteric cuts titled ‘Synergy EP’ on Rekids, including collaborations with Doka (as The Leap) and Clone Basement’s Cadans. As Darko Esser the Dutch DJ, producer and label owner has been active for over two decades, helming his illustrious Wolfskuil Records label, which has recently hosted records from Shlømo, Cadans and Rumah. Following a series of releases on his eponymously titled Tripeo imprint, Esser’s appearance on Rekids is his 2018 debut and marks his first outing on another label in nearly five years. Alongside fellow Dutch producer Cadans, who has releases on Neighbourhood and Clone (when not producer drum and bass as Icicle), ‘Rave Tune’ kicks off in emphatic style, delivering alluringly bright strings and oscillating bass slabs. Esser then pairs up with Doka as The Leap, producing alarming synth swirls and thudding percussion for an energy filled spectacle titled ‘Idiocracy’. On the flip, Tripeo balances otherworldly chords with slick drum design in ‘Need For Nuance’ before concluding with ‘Zeitgeist’ with its electro styled groove layered with glistening melodies, eccentric sonics and heavenly leads throughout.

Following the success of the ‘Anipintiros Reworks’, which was a remix double EP of Tripeo’s ‘Antipintiros’ album featuring the likes of Mike Parker, James Ruskin, Blawan, Ben Sims, Cadans and Exium – Tripeo now returns with Sixth Trip. Each side of the release feature different moods yet both equally suited for past the midnight hour. On side A, the track opens straight into full throttle. A thumping techno track with elevating high-hats and deep tones that will punish any dance floor. Side B sets the scene for a battle across the supernovas, with a hypnotic over-drive and galloping notes, enveloping the listener into a mesmerizing state.

For the new Basement Series we have Darko Esser in his Tripeo guise. Classic techno tracks carefully crafted for use in our favorite basements and sweaty clubs. It starts of with Kuebiko, a long drawn-out cut led by a trippy arpeggiated melody matched by a deep pulsating bass. Next is Nargy, an almost completely stripped to the barebones track that draws it energy from an undulating and relentless bassline. This one just keeps on going and going and going... As closer the quirky Qwerty where crisp hi-hats and snares set the pace over a modulating ”Hoodesque” melody that floats in and out of the track.

Tripeo is embarking on his Third Trip. Two hypnotic and stripped down techno cuts dipped in Detroit funk and Berlin darkness. Aimed for dancefloors only. The series is VINYL ONLY RØDHÅD - “the new tripeo is really good. i played it on every gig since i have it :)” Mark Broom - "6 is the one for me, sweet Melody/b-line :) He is def getting a good vibe going with these releases! Respect to Tripeo :)" Ben Sims - "Thank you for this, untitled 5 is great, will be blasting that one at the weekend!" Tommy Four Seven - '5 is massive man! will drop for sure this weekend, thanks for sending!' Untold - "Quality gear here – my pick is #6. This will fit nicely into my sets and I’m sure will be lots of fun to play. I’m noticing a few tracks surfacing with paranoid twisted synth hooks and this one nails the vibe perfectly." Stephan Bodzin - "#3 is my no#1 so far. what tripeo is doin these days is becoming my definition of pure and rooted techno. love that bit smoother and still tough rocking feeling. it´s a fragile and fine line between new- and oldschool and tripeo is exactly on it. excellent production btw, raw and delicate. will hammer both tunes everywhere that´s 4 sure. thanks darko ;)" DJ Deep - "I played Untitled 6 and i love how raw and powerful it is!" Perc - "Yeah its good. Solid useable gear from Tripeo :)"
