STAY UNDERGROUND, IT PAYS is a brand new sub - label from SKYLAX RECORDS. For this 3rd release, we decided to bring you guys one of the best UK producer right now : PERSEUS TRAXX !!! The analog man, Future Flash boss is back with some killer tracks after a bunch of releases through BOE, Bunker, MOS (aroy dee’s label). As you guys can expect those are deep & jacking chicago sounds with haunting pads, big basselines & some classic TR 707 - 909 drum machines. The title track “Hindsight” is a raw bumpy cut with a sneaky bassline going all along with rolling claps & rims. Influenced by all the best 80’s trax records releases, it’s a late night masterpiece of minimalistic electronic sounds. The 4 other tracks “Late night calls”, “A slave to feelings”, “How the future lies” & the crazy “wrangle” are clearly working in the same movement.

Perseus Traxx - How The Mighty Fell (Timothy J Fairplay Remix)
Perseus Traxx makes his Schrödinger’s Box debut with a 4-track EP of experiments forged in the depths of Northern England. Pristine plateaus and eerie sweeps cover the entire first side, a Perseus Traxx from 2090, shimmering in and out of phase within a murky acidic landscape. Introspective and thoughtful throughout. B1 surges forth with resolute intention, headed straight for the singularity. The UK’s answer to Legowelt – Timothy J Fairplay finishes off the final quarter with a summer-garden Techno banger. Purple / transparent vinyl.

A great pairing here as the rugged basslines, emotional melodies, and vintage percussion of Perseus Traxx seem right at home on the Love Notes stabel, who seem to be taking a quick break from showcasing artists from their homebase of Brooklyn, as they have on their last 4 records. More Songs About Girls is a cohesive EP of 4 original tracks and neither fans of this artist nor fans of this label will be disappointed.

With releases on Future Flash, Bunker, M>O>S, BOE Recordings, Photic Fields, Skylax, Chiwax, BoomChik, Snuff Trax, Use of Weapons, Got2Go, Remote Recordings & J.A.M. Traxx, 18 months after Perseus Traxx brought us his first E.P, dedicated to four of the nine Muses of ancient Greece, Flight Recorder now brings you the second instalment dedicated to four more Muses, on "Goddesses Of Inspiration II" The feel is the same as before with jagged cutting tones jammed live then edited down. Heavy synths and scattered drums perform an ode characterising the appropriate Muses, as tangled wires and a pair of hands wrench the overload of inspiration they give from basic machines. Once again Perseus' release on Flight Recorder is a unique set of acid-free sonic experiments, that sometimes feel as cold and edgy, as they do warm and carefree.

We are pleased to announce the release of 'Dr Burisch' by Perseus Trax on Crimes of the Future. After releases on Bunker, MOS & Chiwax (to name a few), the EP is a four track soundtrack to some forgotten alien abduction documentary... maybe. Starting off with 'Rainy Tuesday' and its skipping pitch shift melodies, and followed by 'Lotus Protocol' and its almost Richard D. hook. On the flip we have the title track, slow and building, very much the 'theme' of the piece. The EP finishes with 'Electrical Surge', and its static crackle of radio interference and damaged power lines. Whatever you do, stay on the tracks

Perseus Traxx, aka Nigel Rogers, is returning to Photic Fields with a four track outing. This young Briton has time and time again shown his ability to sculpt soulful soundscapes using the building blocks laid down by Chicago House. Harmony of Elements is further proof of this. From the outset lush key strokes are laid down, warmth and texture brushed with subtle beats. Percussion patterns are used to scaffold achingly delicate bars. Autumnal tones swirl amongst warm winds and colder currents. Darker moments are present, nightskies bruise under weighty bars. M>O>S man ASOK is on remix duty, blotting "Grey Skies" with his ink-stained sounds; eclipsed moods balanced with honeyed notes. Harmony of Elements sees Nigel Rogers full range of ability on display. There's a revived and renewed complexity to this layered EP. A landscape of emotion is lovingly created, edges are smoothed and richness flows. Undoubtedly some of the most developed, heartfelt and involving sounds to come from Perseus Traxx to date.

Cyber Dance Records are back on the attack with a fresh release from the legendary Perseus Traxx aka Nigel Rogers, a 4-track EP entitled after recent scientific developments 'An Apparent Horizon'. It's a firmly machine-based and totally jam-packed affair reflecting diverse sounds from the UK's own rich history of electronic dance music, with elements from the classic Warp "deep space sound" prominent as much as the more usual 303-jacking acid house grooves in the vein of Baby Ford or Bam Bam. 'Lost Dreams' opens the record with a floaty dream-like hipnosis from the depths of space and sets the tone in magnificent style, followed up on Side A with the irresistible roll of 'Reverse The Trend' that takes the groove harder, further and deeperstraight off to the beyond. Dark strings reminiscent of old LFO, B-12 or Autechre vinyls from the early 90s propel us into Side B on 'Darkness Stalks', and then we're transported onto the concluding track on the EP, 'Distances'; an epic closer that opens with beautiful reverbed claps and acid squelches before diving into an inky black void of timeless space-travelling and slow-building tension that could surely echo hauntingly around any M25 rave in the depths of a late 1980s night.

fter his excellent and well-received Coded Emotion EP on the MOS label in late 2011, analogue fetishist Perseus Traxx returns for another MOS outing... It finds the producer in similarly classic mode, exploring the deep down depths of house and techno in his own fuzzy and hugely atmospheric way. 'Gorgon' has widescreen synths, tightly coiled synth lines and jagged beats all tussling with each other, whilst 'Poseidon's Monster' is about chattering claps hanging above a synth line that twists and turns, implodes and explodes at whim. It's focused and forceful at the same time as sounding some how human. On the flip, 'Return To Seriphos' is another dense soundscape, but one that invites you into its core thanks to the freeform analogue lines, contrast of rough with smooth and generally classy Chicago vibes. 'Stranger Shores' is less troubled and more reflective with bright melodic chords glowing from the centre of the track as warbling, swollen sub undulates all around them. This is music for dancing to, but also music in which to lose your mind as you travel a world away from here: textbook MOS.

Luise is a DJ producer from Hannover, resident at weltspiele.club. She is greatly inspired by the most emblematic movements of house music, we received her demos and we signed her right away because her music sounds like what house or deep should be (and we're not that much surprised since she plays vinyl only and in this case she necessarily knows the dancers' psychology perfectly), waiting, immersive, elegant. This 12 inch will delight fans of zip and consorts. It is a wonder.

octa octa - B2: When Home
New to the Stay Underground It Pays gang, the eighth release on the label comes from none other than Octo Octa! You know him from his prolific run on 100% Silk, and more recently for his EP on Gerd Janson’s Running Back label at the top of the year. The man from Brooklyn serves up 4 slices of that U.S. experimental house sound we love so much. On the A side, we have two versions of Octo Octa’s melancholic title track, Requiem for the Body. Both as good as the other, it’s gonna be split for a lot of listeners on which is better. While both versions share certain elements, the second plays down the long keys of the first versions in favour of some stabby chord patterns. Either way, proper 4 a.m. business! On the flip, we get a bit more ethereal with Times Two (Loose Version). Simple yet effective, this one has a lot of atmosphere with those delayed vocal cuts over that late 80s bassline. Closing out the record is When Home. This one is a bit of a stomper at first until it brings in the lighter synth elements halfway through. Someone, somewhere will have an epiphany listening to this track. If it’s you reading this, send in the results on the back of a postcard. All in all, another killer release that feels straight at home in the Stay Underground It Pays catalogue.

The latest release on Stay Underground It Pays comes from Berlin-based house and techno aficionado, Quell. The man had a very good year in 2013 with releases on labels such as Ibadan and 20:20 Vision and shows no signs of going easy in 2014. This four track record captures the essence of Stay Underground It Pays supremely with dark warehouse sounds perfect for the club. Nowhere Forever’ sets the tone for the rest of the EP going forward. The kick drum doesn’t hold back right from the word ‘”go” and just before the one minute mark, that warehouse sounding bass hits with varied percussion sizzling overhead. Stabs and ‘verbed out vocals come later, bringing it to a slightly ‘euphoric’ ending, for lack of a better term. This is definitely one you will want to hear through a big sound system. ‘A Fate’ kicks of with a bass line reminiscent of the late 80s house sound which came out of integral cities in the US, pushed by the likes of legends such as Mike Huckaby. Like ‘Nowhere Forever’, it constantly progresses over time while making sure to never push things too over the top. Quell clearly knows what he is doing, as he is able to put together tracks such as these, perfect for peak time in the club with enough to keep people satiated but still wanting to hear moreThe title track of the EP, ‘Desdemona’, begins the flip side of the record, continuing proceedings down the set path which Quell has laid out for the listeners to follow. We are treated, again, to a relentless sounding bass line that carries the track onwards suitably before introducing all sorts of elements that further blur the gap dividing house and techno. The aptly named ‘Bouncing Off the Walls’ closes out the record. This is a real party tune designed to get people moving, giving them that extra bit of energy they need to keep going. The paradoxical vocal “Just no samples here” highlights Quell’s intricate methods in keep things simple, yet still exciting. For DJs searching for a bunch of no-filler warehouse tunes, look no further. Quell delivers, and will hopefully keep delivering such gems in the future. Don’t miss this! This EP is a clearly a FLOORFILLER

For this 4th release, we decided to bring you guys one of the best producer right now : KUBA SOJKA !!!The analog man, his continued music production has focused on collaboration with the Chicago Mathematics Recordings label, which presents his more jazzy and soulful face, but not only through the "Bright shadow of a star" EP, but from a bigger thanks to the album "Mysterious Intrigue" released on 2x12”. That release boldly displayed how Kuba can combine a bit of the artistic world in jazz and underground club sound of Detroit techno and Chicago house. This alone didn’t confirm the listeners of his music. It was also due to the fact that he presents a real and sincere vibe and is open to new and developing sounds World-Wide. As you guys can expect from the man, those cuts are clearly inspired by undergound resistance, dopplereffect, minimal wave & the chicago house sound. The title track “Future Mind” is a perfect example of those influences, for us it already sounds like an instant classic. The 5 other tracks “Revolution”, “Walk on moon”, “Adventures into the unknown

For this second release, we decided to bring you guys the producers’ cream of the cream : VIOLENCE FM !After recording tapes & CD-R's at home since 1994 in France, the first release of Violence FM on vinyl appears tardily on Mathematics Recordings in 2009. In 2010, he has released a amazing EP on the french label Premier Sang that reminded us the work of the detroit pioneers especially Derrick May & the genius of new wave New Order. Rhythm playing and drum-machines programmings, editing, mix and mastering, his compositions are often inspired by tribal spirits, organic deep bass and melodies, oscillating beetween smoothie and energy, or both. Deep & Drum could be summing up his mind working, but no matter because the energy and emotion are primarily convened for a result that combines demanding sensuality and wildness. In addition, we added a great JOHN HECKLE REMIX !
