Brains is the first full length by Anton Pieete in 5 years, and the first release under his given name since 2016. A gentle gorgeous journey of an LP on Wake Dream (ran by Orpheu The Wizard). TIP!
Born into a family of sound designers and making his own initial steps into a life of music in the late nineties in trash and hardcore metal bands and via an inherited drumcomputer into techno and minimal in the early 2000’s, Anton switched to the Darling moniker in 2016 with a series of kaleidoscopic retro-futurist releases on Voyage Direct and Safe Trip.
With Brains, Anton Pieete comes full circle and takes the next step, putting a lifetime of musicality, recording experience into a highly musical album, having given himself room for exploration, not being fixed on an end goa. The 11 songs on Brains are filled with emotion, some sweet and hopeful, some gloomy and restless.

Tracklist:
A1. Peven B1. BN 3000 B2, Lite Green
Info:
Anton Pieete is known for his classic, textured take on House & Techno. The Dutchman has spent recent years exploring the reaches of his analogue set up, releasing a string of hugely popular EPs for Joris Voorns Rejected imprint. Now he turns over his latest wares to Ovum, with another impressive offering in the shape of TheMenu.
While it may be our starter; first dish Peven is definitely more of a main course. Heady and intoxicating with itspercussive, funky drums and undulating keys, its carries us on its woozy wave of rich analogue bass.
Our appetite is further satisfied by the deeper sophisticated tones of Lite Green. Its malleable, swinging groove is governed by its pulsating bassline and dense kick-drum as lazer synths sweep and claps fire on thisclassy cosmic jam.
BN300s dramatic and ghostly strings are at odds with its frenetic bouncing bass melody and yet together theywork in complete harmony to create our final musical indulgence from The Menu.

anton pieete - B2. The News (Tom Ruijg Remix)
Summer 2014 saw the release of Anton Pieete’s ‘The News’, an eight track selection that further cemented his new musical path. Raw, powerful productions that matched the classic sounds of early Detroit and Chicago, with the future leanings of Anton’s own production tastes and techniques. The News was an instant hit with his peers, drawing a tidal wave compliments and club support. It was some of those same supporters that Rejected have looked to when drawing up their wish list for this exciting remix release. UK sensation Mosca was first on board, having been an early fan of the originals. He chose to take on the deep, mysterious and somewhat spooky ’Next Year’, with the Not So Much boss toughening and twisting the original with reversed sweeps in an elongated beatless opening that leaves us feverishly anticipating the drop of the first kick drum, at four and half minutes. Fellow Dutchman Tom Ruijg goes to work on the title track. Relegating the original's dominant synth chords he strips things back, only to rebuild as a tense, minimal and mysterious techno outing. Anton himself joins forces with Awanto 3, layering their wonderful vocal lick over the original to give it a fresh and addictive new face for the summer.
Detroit’s own, Rolando, also takes on The News. Feeling at home with those home-town synths he pulls them further within his remix, filtering things down whilst pushing his beats and snare to the fore. Still keeping things deep Rolando creates an impressive and essential rework of Anton’s original.

Arriving firmly on time for the approaching summer, Rejected welcomes back Dutch techno music maestro Anton Pieete for another killer double track EP fresh out of Amsterdam. Culture showcases a futuristic twist with a digital pattern lead, electric synth & a warping bassline, whilst Cotton throws up classical elements of house with its airy synth lead & warm bass both bouncing off a solid tech pulse.
