After whetting our appetites with the new italo "classic" Volevi Una Hit repress, Bottin and his Cristalli Liquidi project team up with the French-Italiano electro pair Deux Control (aka Justine Forever & Rodion) for a double take of this sweaty song about the colour red and the gentle carnal forces of nature. The collectable Artifact imprint is taking a detour from incendiary and obscure disco re-issues into releasing even more obscure material. Mysterious Italian electro-wave band Cristalli Liquidi are featured here with a killer rare italo gem produced by Tinto B. (also known for Robots Are Un-American, re-released on Italians Do It Better last year). Inspired by a LCD Soundsystem song Tinto B. comes with this great record! We cant find the connection to the LCD Soundsystem track that supposed to have been his source of inspiration, and actually we dont care... its some of the best recent Italo disco we've heard in a while! If you are big on italo vocals the A side is for you, if instead you dig deep electro disco but without the chanting, the dub version on the flip side will more than certainly send you into italo space. Bottin is back with LP an unusual album: an instrumental album of faux "Library Music" aptly titled QUALITY TIME. Searching for a virginal sound rolling back to the zero degree in contemporary music, Quality Time explores the sonic range of 1980s era Casiotone portable synthesizer as is, with no filters or additional timbres modifying its sound aesthetics. An exercise in composition where the reduced plasticity of sound makes us imagine music as building bricks, rather than a commentary of the times. Quality Time is Library Music made out of sheer intellectual honesty, as opposed to the anonimity of producing music as a commodity. The Casiotone alphabet allows Bottin to assemble seductive instrumental tracks marked by alpha-numeric acronyms and interspersed with sourced fragments of dialogues recalling the contemporary existential alienation and postmodern idleness. Bottin teams up with Francisco (Jolly Music, L.U.C.A.) for a drugged-out, sexed up, slo-mo psych-rock aptly titled LOVE LIFE. Old acquaintance Rodion steps in on remix duties, working deranged synth magic in the extended dj version. On the flipside, Argentina's Fernando Pulichino (2020 Soundsystem, Silver City) joins in with his flamboyant bass and shimmering guitars on DELTA TIGRE, an afro-cosmic sound contraption. The IchiSan remix heads up to the sky, all the way to synth heaven. Italian weirdologist Bottin strikes again with another private pressing for Artifact Records. Side A starts off with an edit of a super rare italo-electro utterance, perfect for your breakdancing. A2 is Italian new wave, replete with passionate lyrics and funk guitars. B1 is a collab with balearic legend Leo Mas: Italian freestyle with a hint of new beat, isn't it? One of Italy's most revered producers on the global scene, Bottin is always ready with an invigorating palette of sounds and rhythms that stem from his endless thirst for invention. This new release continues that diverse legacy with Balearic-infused pair of Italo cuts. "Waterland," is a buoyant disco number. Its bass ebbs and flows with wave-like consistency, polyrhythmic drums percolate beneath, creating a type of suspended animation that propels motion with a tempered energy. The slow-burning crescendo of Respirare' begins with an airtight blend of tick-tock rhythm and minimal then the pace picks up and the synths pile on. Bottin takes the blissed-out enchantment of the Balearic and infuses it with the kinesis of Italo without the music losing its easy-breeze stride. More

After a long break (6 years!) mysterious ARTIFACT label is back with a new private pressing of juicy Bottin re-edits. Fist off, "Domenica" is an upbeat synthesizer disco number, complete with happy chanting and funny instrumental hooks. Second track "Cha Cha Cha" leans towards Italian new wave, with English, French and Spanish vocals. Maybe what Tom Tom Club could have sounded like - if they were from Milan. Side B starts with a thick, throbbing funk groove "Chico Train", topped by hilarious narration of a surreal train ride to, station to station. The closing number "Vital Grace" is a dark, sexy disco thing, with lush female vocals and over-the-top strings. As often in all things Bottin, this EP is all-Italian affair - Vinyl-only and very limited quantities as usual. More

Cult Italo post-wave group Cristalli Liquidi are back with another 12" maxi single. This time the production was carried out by the godfather of Italian electronic music Alexander Robotnick with some mysterious intervention from Bottin. Sciame (Italian for swarm) hits harder on the dancefloor then their previous releases, without losing a single drop of the italo lyrical magic.

Mysterious ensemble CRISTALLI LIQUIDI are back on Artifact with their second single. This is another all-Italian new wave affair entitled CANZONE REGISTRATA (Recorded Song). Of course we have no idea of what the song is about since the lyrics are in Italian, but it sounds awesome and just like the first single it was produced by BOTTIN. In addition to the juicy extended and dub versions we have remix duties aptly carried out by the Florentine godfather of italo disco ALEXANDER ROBOTNICK and Milanese dream-team LE MACCHINE (consisting of The Love Supreme & The Barking Dogs) who deliver a killer retro house (or maybe nu-new-beat?) remix ready to break the toughest dancefloor like an ice pick.
