Tracklist: A1 - Burnin (Original) A2- Burnin (Wareika's One on One Remix) B1- Burnin (Brendon Moeller mix) B2- AlexFlatner & LOPAZZ_Dinosaurs (WareikaRemix) REL DATE 15.10.2012
It is gonna be a huuge package out on FormResonance with this “Burnin” release by Wareika: The original track, now timeless on vinyl, comes alongside with their own “One on one mix”, which tend towards summer breaks and festivals including their unique quality of flying melodies. Back into the club, Brendon Moeller spends his interpretation by focussing on his beloved dub techniques including an acid feeling on his stunning bassline. The vocals are perfectly balanced with his subtle shuffles and grooves - you definitely get one of his prerogatives here. Brendons second mix, his “beat pharmacy flaming dub” catches on: more focussed and more clean he let the essence of the original come through. Their vision of electronic music can be heard in the Alex Flatner & LOPAZZ „Dinosaurs“ remix. Wareika does include modern production techniques as fluent as the feeling for an organic approach. Their instruments do become a spokesman by creating odd rhythms flowing together...creating a new step. More

Wareika invite us to their „Harmonie Park“, a place created by the love of improvisation. At the park, poles have shifted already! Florian Schirmacher, Jakob Seidensticker and Henrik Raabe, all full-time musicians, tuned their instruments to introduce us to this parallel universe. It.s about the various possible perceptions of one single moment. Loops and sequences, subjected to virtual tempo changes, without leaving the Bpm scale. In the park, everything is always in the flow. Jazz / Techno / Funk / House, all elements that appear / dissapear throughout the composition. Wareika manage to bring all this together effortlessly, without even thinking in those categories. The deeper you get into the park, the more you get absorbed by the dynamics of interlaced, polyrhythmic modulations. Luckily the groove acts like the park ranger, showing you around while
taking care no one gets lost in hypnotic structures waiting on the way. At the end, this pulsating soundcluster leads into the great river named bassline, leaving us quite harmonized..... !! This release comes in a special format !! We made „Harmonie Park“ available in 4 parts on 2x12“ Vinyl. More

Short Info
Formed in 2007 by Jakob Seidensticker, Florian Schirmacher and Henrik Raabe, Wareika was accidentally gathered on stage for the first time at Hamburg’s mythical Mojo Club. Since then, the german trio has built a very singular sound signature after a decade of playing together. Revealing the diverse influences and musical educations from all three individuals, the band’s discography has been built over a solid live experience. Being academically trained in Jazz and Classical but also self taught through electronic music, Jakob, Florian and Henrik are able to sing, play guitars, drum machines, pianos, synthesizers, bass, percussions and way more. Concocting their stylistic blend with meditative Jazz, hypnotic Dub, meticulous Techno and subtle House, it leaves no surprise as you think about the high level of versatility of Wareika’s musical spirit. Calling from King Tubby, Sun Ra or afrobeat master Fela Kuti, they develop a dazzling kaleidoscope of melodies and polyrhythmic patterns over four to the floor beats that is entirely unique in the electronic music scene.
When it comes down to live gigs Wareika is putting a stress on quality and delivers an outstanding sound. As a trio of singular performers the band jumps on stage without computers, setting up an improvised dialog based on their original material but always handing over a unique piece taking form in the moment. Jakob Seidensticker on MPC arrangements, drum machine sequencing and mixing, Florian Schirmacher on vocals, synthesizer, percussions and Henrik Raabe on guitar, synthesizer and percussions, the trio holds the mastery of enhancing a crowd with a multitude of tools and elements, sometimes for more than four hours. Also occasionally rendering live versions of their own full-length releases, they always cross borders of their studio work to unfold their creations into a whole new level. The shape of their sound, bolded with low ends, is fusing Techno and Jazz into an electric jam outlined by magical madness and improvisation.
When back in studios, Wareika has a sturdy work ethos that has brought them to release on many respected labels, as diverse as Visionquest, Tartlet, Eskimo, Circus Company, Future Classic among many others… After having put out their first release “Men Village” on Connaisseur Recordings following up their unexpected meeting on stage in Hamburg, they unwrapped around twenty EPs and four full length albums, including the critically and publicly acclaimed “Harmonie Park” on Perlon in 2010. Strong from this recording success, they achieved a stable touring career that brought them over the world from London to Moscow, Sao Paulo to Beijing and New York to Oslo. Even if considered by many as festival and open-air parties favorites they also love to play in clubs as Club Der Visionaere, Robert Johnson or Fabric. Any place they are asked to show up they will take the opportunity to display their unique talent to impassion the crowds through their musical gifts… In the end, Wareika are natural born performers

“music is the silence between the notes.” the french composer claude debussy once said. the german trio wareika, consisting of florian schirmacher, henrik raabe and jakob seidensticker, love the silence between their notes, even if their music is often fully loaded with many detailed sounds, rhythms, melodies and intercultural sound links. since 2007 they spread their passion for repetitive club grooves in the minimal house spheres that love to swing in the epic way. with four albums on labels like perlon or visionquest as well as eps for labels like eskimo, tartelet, circus company or bar 25 under their wings, the trio proofed their craftsmanship for multi-layered dance music already arrestingly deep on numerous releases and during tours around the globe that brought them also to japan. now they deliver a new one hour long sonic journey on the tokyo based mule musiq, the label on which wareika member florian schirmacher already released as part of the glowing glisses project in 2008. also wareika itself are not new to the japanese imprint, as they previously dropped a remix for mule for the mysterious project jemmy in late 2015. and now “water, sky, sun, wood” – an ambitious one-track (on vinyl separated into four parts) love letter that kicks you deep into meditation – assumed you surrender yourself to their complex sounding and grooving story-arc.

wareika - Bolero (Egal 3 Reinterpretation Mix)
German collective Wareika return to Visionquest with the ‘Bolero’ EP this June, comprising the trio’s original and four remixes from Vlad Caia, Egal 3, Boronas and Nihko.
Florian Schirmacher, Henrik Raabe and Jakob Seidensticker have firmly established themselves as one of the major driving forces within electronic music in recent times with their distinctive and dynamic sound making its way to labels likes Zip’s illustrious Perlon imprint and Tartelet Records amongst many more. Having released their third long player on the Visionquest back in March, the trio return with their ‘Bolero’ EP and are joined in esteemed company as the psychedelic rework of Ravel’s Bolero undergoes it’s own remixes.
Wareika’s original opens up the EP with its impressive arrangement of crisp drums and hypnotic sweeps before Vlad Caia offers up the first remix, stripping back the original and layering driving kicks, lo-fi glitches and subtle nuances over the originals vibrant pads. Next up, Egal 3 brings forth a weighty, dubbed out groove, whilst filtered hats and evolving tones work their way around the tracks heady rhythm. Wareika ‘Bolero’ EP is out on Visionquest 15th June on vinyl, with a digital release following 1st July. More

Next up on Visionquest is the second single from Wareika's righteous and raw 'Wternal' album. 'All Little Things', here in its 'Club Mix' incarnation, is another example of the trio's hefty musicianship and unbridled eccentric energy, where jazzy textures and pulsating grooves build up with a rising melody to the powerful vocal drop. On the first remix Visionquest & Nikko Gibler develop expansive piano melodies alongside an elasticated bassline and vocal snippets. Fred P reigns over the B-side with his raw, deep hypnotic 'Reshape' and warmed up 'Spirit Dub'. This is a distinctly diverse remix package from a rich artistic source. Hamburg trio Wareika started as a project in 2007 with a collection of shining releases on prestigious labels such as Connaisseur, Eskimo, Future Classic and Circus Company, and three studio albums on Perlon, liebe*detail and Tartelet Records, Wareika's style ranges from Balearic to deep Techno, jazzy House sounds and from Balkan-Jazz to dubby riddims but always retains the smart intellect, depth and dynamism in composition Wareika is known for. Their thrilling jazz-marries-techno live shows has now been captured on vinyl and CD with fourth full-length album 'Wternal' recorded in one 65min take and out now on Visionquest. After remixes for David Lynch and Benoit & Sergio in the past couple of years, Visionquest, the artists, here join forces with Nikko Gibler - a multi instrumentalist and composer based in Hollywood, who's also released records on Culprit and Leftroom. Fred P aka Black Jazz Consortium is one of the godfathers of the New York house movement and a true master of that often overused accolade 'deep'. Fred P runs Soul People Music and has appeared on Jus-Ed's imprint Underground Quality.

The album title, as you might know, means “through hardships to the stars”, and that is precisely Wareika’s motto. You could say, that the trio from Hamburg is the hardest working bunch in the music business. Only last year, they released two albums straight: “Formation” on the Danish boutique label Tartelet Records, and “Harmony Park” on worldwide respected Perlon Records. The enormous output by the trio is reminiscent of jazz musicians of the 60ties.
Wareika have released several singles and have done some astonishing remix work within the past three years. Therefore, their collection of ten remixes, or better, reworked and interpreted songs, will give you a fine impression of how Wareika have elaborated their unique sound over the past four years.
To involve Alex Flitsch of Connaisseur Recordings was self-evident for the band. They started out on his label, made several remixes for it, and contributed tracks to the Grand Cru compilation. This also made it a matter of course to feature the exclusive remix of Connaisseur-act Kollektiv Turmstrasse’s “Tristesse” on this album. In order to give it even more of a proper album feel, Wareika have delivered an intro and outro, making this collection sound more balanced and harmonious.
Please enjoy this almost 80 minute long journey to the stars with Wareika

Trio Florian Schirmacher, Henrik Raabe and Jakob Seidensticker as Wareika fall graciously into Circus Company's reputation for forward thinking artists and musical innovator's. A sound and feel all of their own; Wareika's orchestral, experimental and fiercely beautiful sound is one Circus Company proudly announce for their 61st release.
The 'Floors' EP begins its ascent with "1st Floor". Complex and unique in their take on electronica, the trio's undercurrent of jazz infused percussion plays the ideal host for soulfully sung vocals and a constantly morphing soundscape below. As glorious xylophone's hum against bubbling pockets and raw hand claps, organic vocals glide whilst effected pockets pierce. Evolving extravagantly through poignant guitar solos and tip-tapping hats, "Floor 1's" musicality is perfectly chaotic as it pitter-patters to its own forgiving beat in a captivating, refreshing air.
Next level "2nd Floor" is equally mesmerizing with its eight minutes of building roll and infectious groove. Sharp, funky and intelligent, Wareika once again use their powerful vocals to infuse "2nd Floor"; this time with a sensual charm and wit in their step. With an impressively diverse style, Wareika know how to use their most powerful weapons in different scenarios to create mystical environments and indulgent scenes. More

Dust as a Metaphor for our repetitive culture, can`t be better chosen to head the "Redust" EP on FormResonance.
Grainy and with a sixth sense of its pulse, the tracks do emerge into a wide soundstream. Dust hereby transports a piece of wisdom: the sound signature. Knowledge which is inherent in class-a circuits, vinyl, or tape and which can be barely "re"produced.
Georg Stuby is already a DJ on stage; like Burning Man, Club der Visionäre... A1. Meadow Run A2. Groove B1. Crossing B2 Safe
Info:
Here Today is significant through their releases on Philpot, Suol, Claqueur and the legendary UK House Label Buzzin Fly Records. Engin Seyrl and Florian Schirmacher catch the key moment to release their debut album „Transitory Objects“ with two exclusive music videos, a remix by Wareika colleage Jakob Seidensticker, and a Book, summing up the work of their joint venture with the Stuttgarter Performance Ensemble over the recent six years. While their tracks alternate into something momentary- fading, they clip the moment by playing live in coniunction with the audience. Producing at any moment, Here Today interacts between studio and live performance. The interplay and open process, could be related to the works of classical composer John Cage. Both providing an open space especially in their live show. The first more to listen and the latter even more to dance to. Crossing introduces a moody club athmosphere, drifting into a club hymn, including as strong as shimmering vocals. You can feel the UK House influence, which defined the „Good News“ Release on Buzzin Fly. Cool House with unexitedly vocals... „Crossing all barriers....“ glowing more and more and building up to a repetetive refrain... Like „Save“ - a classic House Track featuring clap attacks, Engin`s Funk Guitar and House legend Ian Pooley, who has collaborated with the guys. The Track interplays with rough cutted drum sounds, a full to the brim Bassline and Ian`s Hi Hats. Working sums up their club skills into a hooking hit. Subtle Loops, pull the listener on the floor. Wispered or defined vocals, Florian does show a superbe quality and dynamic, but keeping it relaxed and „cool down“ too. The mixture of drive and leisureness is a grown-up masterpiece and surely one of his best vocal tracks. The gem of the jam session is „Meadow Run“- a powerful techno track with their old school trademark sound. They recorded their drum machines on tape and reused them in the mix. Which gives them a softness without loosing its
punch. Layered Prophet synthesizers draw an exiting pursuit, driving the curve with full speed, but every sound has enough consistency, to drift not away, or is that exactly what happens? Working and Meadow Run are coming up with official music videos: Gernot Tögel pulls us into an intimate club shooting at Elipamanoke, Leipzig; while Working was filmed in collaboration with Deutsche Oper Berlin under the direction of Laura Laabs. After the presentation at the opera house the video has been now chosen to represent Deutsche Oper in their Cinema Campaigns. Even if Engin Seyrl met Florian in Bremerhaven their „Hometown“, they sticked together in Hamburg, sharing a flat, producing and working for the Stuttgarter Performance Ensemble. Altogether this ensemble accomplished a book release, an alliance of FormResonance and Institut für Kirchenbau und kirchliche Kunst der Gegenwart, coming up with a book, called: „Spirit Now“ Performance for Pentecost. Published by Thomas Erne, Petra Dais and Florian Schirmacher. FormResonance is proud to present and to unite the different transformations, which Here Today has done over the
years. Without the help of all contributors, the album, the remix, the book and the video would not be, like it is right now: The Transitory objects of „Here Today“. More

This Project is building up a new Hamburg-Signature sound: Full vocals in between Folk, Pop and Electronic. They tell songs from abroad, as a story, as a concert and each song contributes its unique character to their debut album!
"Unprepared" pops up with a ruff approach and high energy, so this song heads reasonable the album as an exclamation mark! "Instant Diver" lifts up with the upward stroke of hopeful film scenes. Its nature, quite "british" sounding drums guide through the album. This band has a sound: direct, tempting and spreading joy in each of their pieces.
The magnetic voice of Christos Zarampoukas evokes a close relationship. His pleasant approach melts into intensity and invites each listener to come closer. Its pureness stands ahead in each piece. Coming back to the well-arranged songs: the funny "Doped call" is as important for them as the soft "In your garden" or "Horses with golden Hair". "Bilirubin" will go on tour as well with these pieces as with Ukulele, Acoustic Guitar, Backing Vocals, Lead Singer, Guitar and Bass!
FormResonance sets new standard in terms of mastering techniques. We will go on with our vision and our pure confession to music, which experiments and spreads our love of playing instruments.

Krink, the shooting star of Audiolith records comes up on FormResonance with 4 Night Club tracks of smart understatement. His songs does floating so easily- wide space and a perfectly fitted house groove, a modern Classic for FormResonance. Without saying anything his sounds does come from behind, fading away and still left space. This is Clubmusic on a high aesthetic standard. Just a bit darker…. “Darkness” is heading this EP: Outstanding- including this relaxed and subtle feeling, we will push it on top! “Session” shifts more into Theo Parrish House Style, with a concrete texture. More based on a riddim, in a repititive session. It may be allowed to announce “Vague” as a love song, whilst it is devoting to some memorable club moments. An invotation to take part of this feeling. “Kind of Girl” is the perfect floor filler: sweetened up vocals all decent and not too… But…! A special hurrah goes to our brilliant mastering engineer Michael Hank, who finished our masters as usual with so much love! More

We are proud to present our 10th release and the first album on FormResonance in June 2011!
A stunning surprise is awaiting: label director Florian Schirmacher developed something completely out of the box together with the living Techno legend Mijk van Dijk: THE CHAENGE After the preliminary release of the single "Love Devotion" on David Carrettas French label Space Factory now follows the debut album by THE CHAENGE! Funk is back? – it's never been gone. This is what Florian Schirmacher and Mijk van Dijk are presenting.
Mijk "The Legendary" van Dijk has set the bar in the Techno scene since the early 90's. He was one of the first European artist in Japan and still follows and promotes his philosophy of thinking and acting without borders. Probably only a few people know that he was a bass player in a Funk band before he started his career in Techno. The funk strikes back! Florian "The Voice" Schirmacher is producer and singer of Wareika, Federleicht, Hatikvah, Here Today , and of course THE CHAENGE. His approach to build up musical projects together with other artists sets yardsticks when it comes to the question how to define a band. He is rightly regarded as an exceptional figure in the current club culture, with an instinct that always hits the mark precisely. Catherina Behr is next to
the guys live on stage and acts as drummer.
Past - Present - Future; THE CHAENGE triggers a variety of connotations and shows quite confident future visions on the new record. They present a synthesis of camp, irony, elegance, seriousness and a wink of a surprising turn in their songs.THE CHAENGE should be seen as a neatly tailored colorful kaleidoscope. The carefully chosen cover version of André Cymone's "Dance Electric" (written by none other than Prince) proves their courage to raise their music to a new and higher level. The essence and spirit of funk is preserved and transformed into the current club culture. Their compositions draw a rich picture full of musicality and passion. They speak with one voice and create a synthesis that forms a character: THE CHAENGE is our rebellion.

Go Disco! A call to all who fall in love with the song "Sue is blue". Everything is focused on the slow, but swinging groove, including individual flashing fragments of the 20's. A dirty house music base drum pushes this track towards the dancefloor. The piece "Offshore" takes
you on a journey with its epic, modest and balanced mood, which turns out to be a dancefloor sensation. "Teheran Traffic" is speeding up the tempo. The B-side is determined by a powerful sound. Just as the „Far from here edit“ by Philipp Wolgast works well in the club. He
released on E-minor, and The Hut Records, whereas his remix has a strong piano theme, added vocals and a remarkable composition. It is more a unique piece, than a remix! The two artists Jakob Seidensticker and Bardia Salour are constantly working: On the Irish label „Elevation“ on which Jakob has released with his band "Wareika" too, and another release on Einmaleins Musik, they improve their output. What emerges on this FormResonance is a wit and charm, which the two hamburger boys should be noted as the same. Together they host the party "dance for fans", which is anchored firmly in the nightlife of Hamburg City. More

Holmby Hills. We have waited long time for this! This year their remix of Hatikvah's "Synchronicity" on Baalsaal Recordings entered the US chartlist of Velizar and was dropped by Agoria on his "Balance" Compilation. Now their first debut single will be out on FormResonance! The twelve inch (and digital) release comes with the diversity FormResonance stands for: a non-standard club music. Holmby Hills' two smooth'n'ruff House tracks and two Hip Hop-Jazz encores turn this record into a testimony for the state of mind of FormResonance. When Soul is melted together into an off the grid House track, it is not that far-fetched that both men have shared their music ever since tapes existed. Engin Oeztuerk, one half of Here Today, which came out on Philpot and Buzzin Fly and Block Barley (who already has released two albums on Hong Kong Records and We ain't Music) are both tinkering in search of music to dance to. They wickedly transform their musical masters' ideas into something extraordinary sounding.

Hatikvah, - Unforgettable
The currently published debut album "Synchronicity" of "Hatikvah" on the legendary label "soma" from Glasgow, Scotland, let the experts sit up. Now, FormResonance selected three songs from their wonderful debut album in its uncut version to make it available for the music world also on vinyl! The A-side "Big Mind" reveals itself as an extremely dense atmospheric world of sound. The voice results clearly through the piece. Florian Schirmacher shows here presence with his voice and remains yet subtle in the sound structure. Right in the middle there is a break, a silence. To this short moment the whole play seems written around. The reference points are lost. The second song "Daedalus" is a Rhodes Solo. Pure. Nothing else. Hatikvah shows its versatility and clarity that can be found in every song. Purposeful and open "Unforgettable" slides 13 minutes on the B-side through an improvisation with the Rhodes piano that evolves gently and playful. Bonds to Pepe Braddock are awoken, and it is fun to follow the song, to melt into it. Helmut Ebritsch, the second part of the production team Hatikvah, shows here his flair for a balanced sound. Hatikvah is defined with its primary meaning from the Hebrew as "hope". Elusive and valuable Hatikvah transports a rest in their songs, as if the aim is precisely targeted. Sound & soul fall at Hatikvah into one. The deeper, the better: Hatikvah stands for intensity that is palpable!

After two very well received initial releases by Federleicht, it is time to create a path for other enlightening artists and projects: for our third release we proudly present Oculus, one of Icelands most promising producers, and Leib & Seele.
Leib & Seele (English: "body & soul")
Within this project producers Florian Schirmacher and Andreas Barth have gotten in touch with the deeper shades of House, especially concerning variations in harmonies and lyrics. As the vocals have already been compared with Rio Reiser (former singer of ""Ton Steine Scherben"), "Beizeiten" ("At times") may cause associations towards a sun-dazed yet 'living-on-razor's-edge'-state of mind; it's reinterpretation by Herrhorst & Meissner proves that the harmonies of the original version are made to cause enormous amounts of endorphine.
Oculus
Fridfinnur Sigursson, the man behind the pseudonym Oculus, is definitely on the rise to conquer Europe. His works are supported by quite a few international DJ gigolos like Laurent Garnier, Hell and GusGus's President Bongo.Fridfinnur contributed four absolutely danceable yet different tracks: "Ancient" and "Echoes" on vinyl alongside "Pre Thought Fury", "Leds" and "Beez" as digital exclusive. "Ancient" not only consists of a satisfying interaction between an energetic, powerful groove and a propulsive bassline: its spellbinding soundscape will surely hypnotize listeners with surreal and cruel sharpness. "Echo" benefits the space for a thrilling quest into while riding all time on a rhythm-monster.

Lawrence, - To Be A Place
FormResonance and 33rpm records present a full to the brim EP by Federleicht vs. Lawrence.A tribute to port cities in general and especially to Bremerhaven. Seaports are internal breakpoints for both Marc Bammann and Florian Schirmacher. An EP like a Sea chart. Their work has been recently honored by the Groove Magazine 03/10, as a "... wonderfully diverse world full of beauty ..., proceeding into the different vegetation naturally intertwined." Federleicht stand out in their own way. Marc and Florian know each other since 1996 and share a great enthusiasm for music beyond subgenres. They are even called sometimes in the same breath with their electronic grandfathers, like Autechre or Orbital. The Interpretation of Lawrence`s "A Place To Be" is an anchor for Federleicht and can be regarded as another important step in the process.
We thank Liebe * Detail for friendly permission to publish Federleichts remix and are excited about what may come next ;)

Yes, it's them: "Federleicht". No better way to start a label: The Newcomers of the year have created here a playful and danceable track at the same piece: "Rosa Lee." Florian Schirmacher and Marc Bammann made an apt remark in naming the EP "ModeRn DaDa" to point out their ability to make a tribute to the free form. Music with German lyrics for the dance floor, combining fragments, while this masterly sense of easiness, for which even the "Supergooses ep" was rewarded as a "masterpiece" in the "de:bug".
FormResonance devides their releases in "solid", "fluid" and "aeroform" to restrain the musical spectrum which is indeed to be at the ready. "Solid" in any case with both feet down-to-club. How nice ... there should be the Klub edit of "Rosa Lee" as well.
In "Lilly & Douai ("fluid"), the duo spans such an emotional tension by overlaying approximately 80 radio tracks on which "Federleicht" travels the two French industrial cities Lille and Douai, with the idea that these cities are nature reserves. Such sensitive places they are...
