Its another first Pets Recordings as they not only welcome label debutant, A1 Bassline, but also announce the production of their very first vinyl release. Having shared the stage as dirtybird label mates its now time for Pets bosses Catz 'n Dogz to welcome an artist who's music has become a staple of their own DJ sets. Its been a busy few weeks for Christian Sibthorpe aka, A1 Bassline. With the imminent release of the first single from his own SOURCEUNKNWN label and his excellent track "Daft" having just dropped on dirtybird, the young Brighton resident is currently enjoying the richest of musical form, further highlighted by his fantastic 3 track "Breakaway EP." Christian's musical influences took hold from a very early age. Having spent his teenage years frequenting the vinyl temples of Big Apple, Swag Records and secondhand store Beanos, buying garage, grime and drum and bass, it was another establishment or rather party, that also played a defining role in his musical career. "Technicality" was the forward thinking DnB club night that paid homage to the famous Metalheadz Blu Note parties and it was here, alongside other regulars including Ben UFO, Fold and Breakage that Christian furthered his love of bass driven music. Having released his debut 12" at the tender age of 17, A1 Bassline has worked on and sought for a sound that he is content with. It was this sound that lead to him signing his music to San Francisco's dirtybird imprint and over the past two years his productions such as "Buoyancy / Falsehood" and "Why Do You" have gained support from a far wider group of Press, DJ's and Radio. The "Breakaway" ep sees A1 Bassline ploughing a deeper furrow, but fear not, those warm fat basslines are very much in full effect, but rather than leading from the front, they underlay a smoothness that runs throughout the three tracks. That bass strength, combined with his collection of psychedelic synths, make for a stunning Pets Recordings debut from the UK producer.
