Cassegrain are in the house. With this four tracker, they make techno with a signature that sets them apart from the rest and we are really glad to have them on board.
'Addax' opens fire with a textured fast groove, with delayed filtered hits over a relentless continuous rhythm. Intensity grows until the drums disappear shortly to come back in full force in the closing minutes. A dance-floor destroyer for peak time moments.
'Markhor' starts with processed beats that are soon followed by analogue percussive hits creating an hypnotic mood. More layers of synths are added to the main groove electrifying the feeling and making an alien exercise of modern techno.
'Nubian Ibex' keeps the pace fast and focused on the floor. A similar recipe here, continuous grooves, synthesized bleeps and an intelligent arrangement. Noises and abstract textures share lines with sharp hi-hats and percussion all with a characteristic sound, not from a standard sound palette.
'Arabian Oryx' closes the EP, slowing down things slightly, approaching liquid dub soundscapes but with the tension that Cassegrain always manage to bring to their productions. More

Special remarks
12" sleeve designed and hand stamped by Alex from Cassegrain.
Tracklist
A1. Shahmaran B1. Caracal B2. Vulpine
Shortinfo:
In quick succession to ARCS-03, which boasted remixes by The Mover, Shifted and Peder Mannerfelt, Cassegrain keep up the pressure with a new EP of originals - ARCS-04.
Returning to their tunnelling hypnotic trademark sound over three focused, club-ready trips, the Arcing Seas heads channel varied and irrepressible moods into each track. Built on solid dancefloor founda-tions and rich in colourful, non-conventional sound design, they scan through tribal ritualism with A side 'Shahmaran', moving to the pumping urgency of 'Caracal' and the rolling post-acid workout of 'Vulpine'.
ARCS-04 is a straight-up DJ-friendly 12'', something that's conveyed in the record's more minimalist artwork.

12" sleeve designed and hand screen printed by Alex from Cassegrain.
Tracklist:
A1. Trappist (The Mover remix)
B1. Skull Gun (Peder Mannerfelt remix)
B2. Vultures (Shifted remix)
Shortinfo:
Arcing Seas is back with ARCS-03; a unique EP of selected tracks from the first two releases, remixed by The Mover, Peder Mannerfelt and Shifted.
First up, rave and techno legend The Mover presents his first new material since 2009. After using the slogan "See you in 2017" for years before, this marks the start his return. He turns Trappist into a hard hitting electro workout using original parts that explode and punish the senses.
Peder Mannerfelt introduces the B-side with his take on Skull Gun. Broken beats and exciting percus-sion sit atop deep kicks, disorientating quick fire samples and rapid snares, showing how versatile and on-point he is.
Finally, Shifted is called into action with a signature deep-sonic soundscape. Rumbling kicks and high frequency textures occupy the sound field, alongside reverberating samples from Vultures, making it his own.
Label info:
Arcing Seas is an anagram of Cassegrain. It started out as a secret alias, releasing a couple EPs on Our Circula Sound. The secret was less well kept after the duo appeared at Berghain under this name. A year later, after deciding to start a label, it finally made sense to bring the two together.

Info-
Cassegrain continue their empowering run of techno electronics with 'Centres of Distraction', their debut album on Prologue.
Leading us on a 10-track expedition into a wilderness of rugged, challenging sonics, the album marks the production duo's development from adventurous new-bloods to fully fledged Techno explorers.
Over the course of the last five years, Alex Tsiridis and Hüseyin Evirgen, now both firmly entrenched in Berlin, have created a heavily detailed rhythmic language of morphing synthesis, high end processing and club-chiseled production. A basis for much of their studio work, their controlled, hardware-focused live sets have brought them to a unique and respected position as showmen.
A nod to the classic 90s electronic album format - spanning a wide range of tempos and genres - 'Centres of Distraction' covers a lot of ground. After the opening club-ready syncopations of 'A Study Of Splashes', itself a warm and addictive cut, the duo set out on a new exploration in purist electronica, beginning with 'Resilin'. Morphing from abstract and reduced broken beats into a stirring melodic piece, it's the most song-structured we've heard them.
And so change and contrast are to continue as key themes. 'Centres' drops with its funky, off-centre lines and rattling percussion, to be quickly followed by the mighty 'Intrude - Restrain'. 'New Hexagon' charms us into a deep hypnosis with its percussive and rhythmic synthesis, highlighting the intricacies of the duo's drum programing.
The serene mid-tempo tones of 'Glasshouse' create yet another dramatic change in focus as a temporal, high-pressure and high-intensity atmosphere is built and then gently deconstructed. But Cassegrain also stands for high-end dance music, and 'Scythian' is perhaps the peak of the album in that respect. An unrelenting and timeless shock of electricity, the stuttering, frenetic energy winds its way around the heart of Cassegrain's current club sound.
Again dropping the tempo in search of refreshing alternatives, renowned Greek cellist Nikos Veliotis (of the Mohammad group on PAN, or In Trance 95 on Minimal Wave) contributes his growling, measured strokes to 'Empress Cut In Segments'. An intense soundtrack of sublime cacophonic peaks, once again tappng into a newly developed taste for melody and progressive structures.
The album approaches its end with 'Arcane', the type of psycho-techno that Cassegrain do so well - metallic lines overlapping and modulating to full effect - the tension palpable. This is the prelude to the beautiful 'Seldom Cloud' that sums up all of the more experimental, melodic studies found on the LP. Floating bells and ethereal bodies swarm in a fitting conclusion to the album.

Tracklist: A1: Cassegrain - Blood Distributed as Pure Colour B1: Cassegrain - Yokai B2: Cassegrain - Hexagon Fifteen
Short info:
Prologue presents three new tracks from the Berlin based Cassegrain. This new EP draws in the focus as we see the duo further finesse their sonic language of complex tribal percussion and intense acidic elements. In anticipation of Cassegrain's debut full-length due in autumn 2014, this next chapter of tracks - not taken from the LP, but acting as a sound manifesto of sorts - highlights their ongoing explorations.
When you close your eyes and stare into nothingness, that private virtual space, what does your brain see? Shimmering cells dancing in the void, clouds in your consciousness, the particle elements of a distant past - blood distributed as pure colour.
Cassegrain invite us to spark a connection with the ancients lying dormant within. Across three intense tribal studies, exploring a fine potions of voodoo acids and hypnotic extra-sensory sonics, we are transported to places far and exotic. Up the winding rivers, into the jungle landscapes of our ancestors, where rhythm is sacred and blood is power.

Cassegrain stands for a concave mirror and a secondary convex mirror. But on Prologue Cassegrain stands for the new excellent duo (Huseyin Evirgen, Alex Tsiridis) with the clear direction to fulfill Prologue´s modern sound architecture in best form. Brilliant techno tracks with deepest dub feelings and enriched synth structures build a phantastic world of liquid sound relives. Exceptional EP

The 10th Modal Analysis release is the second full EP of the label?s co-founder, ANFS. Mass EP demonstrates ANFS unique sound aesthetics, offering tracks to satisfy the most demanding music-heads. Mass#1 is a sadistic composition of distorted percussions and basslines hitting hard in a slow rhythmic groove , while Mass#2 stands closer to the dancefloor thinking norms, without though leaving behind any of the creepiness of Mass#1. On the flip side, Mass#3 brings back the mood of a horror movie soundtrack, with bleepy riffs on the leading sequence. Finally, Mass#4 is another rhythmic industrial composition, which connects Mass EP with the traditional eastern influences that can be found on ANFS debut release; Ground EP.

The seventh Modal Analysis release comes from Athenian producer and DJ, ANFS. Following his remix for Kondaktor’s Signal #1 , ANFS returns to the label with his debut release, “Ground”, a four track EP which consists of original material. Borrowing sounds from early twentieth century folk Greek culture, the EP is dominated by a rhythmic canibalistic spirit and a noisy distorted cue. Ground #1 functions as an introduction, or rather one’s initiation to the mystic rituals that prevail. The artist uses drones and distorted textures which increase in Ground#2 and are backed up by drums that beat in a hard-and-slow ethnic tonality. Ground#3 reveals a paroxysm of emotions which comes as a result from the combination of basslines and vocals that create a complex and twisted vortex. The trip ends with Ground#4, a more stripped down monotonic ensemble that serves as an epilogue and a catharsis.

Kondaktor, the Athenian producer who made his debut last year at Further Records, releases music for the sixth Modal Analysis record. Signal EP includes two original tracks Signal #1 and Signal #2 which were created through the manipulation of field recordings, that are structured as a collage of sounds delivering a deep and claustrophobic sensation. On the other side of the record, Sawf and ANFS construct two versions of the tracks taking a more industrial and rhythmic approach to the existing works.

‘Bow EP’, the 5th Modal Analysis release, delivers two cutting-edge techno tracks from the Manchester-based duo AnD, as well as a remix by Russell Haswell. Bow #1 and Bow #2 highlight the distorted broken-beat style that AnD specialize in. Completing the record is Haswell, who displays his own harsh, rhythmic noise aesthetic with a decomposition of Bow #1.

Two years have passed since his release at Sandwell District and after his remix contribution to Sawf’s Sand EP, Belgian producer, Yves De Mey, returns to Modal Analysis with a two-track EP. The first track allures the listener to an abstract heavy sound, whereas, the second track follows a more distinct rhythmic structure. Both tracks create an atmospheric environment with the use of modular sounds. The EP wraps up with a Shifted club remix of the first track.
