Funckarma goes in league with Onionboy (Darko Esser), both delivering a track of their own, and a remix of each other's. Funckarma's Rusty W is lush electronics and heavy dubstep at the same time, effective & abstract dancefloor artillery! Onionboy's remix is a 100% old school electro track, solid as a rock and reminding a bit of old Rude66 and Satamile tracks. Onionboy's Kokon is an electronic beauty that keeps building up.. tick layers of nostalgic synths over firm beats... magical! Funckarma turn this track inside out with their typical and complex IDM beat structures that can only be done by the Funcken minds. Another uncatagorizable Shipwrec release, limited to 300 copies, full colour artwork and a download code to redeam all audiotracks and artwork in digital format.

"The Girl and the Chameleon" will probably fall under the genre tags of acid, electro and techno but it is so much more. Witschkowski has been responsible for exemplary electronics throughout his career and this latest is undeniably some of his best. The album sees The Exaltics don a dust mask. Warehouse parties, strobe lights and fog machines and the 90s underground acid scene are definite influences. But there's more. Across thirteen tracks and two slabs of wax the Jena artist takes you on a journey into his world. Gnarled and clinical grooves, caustic 303 encounters, depraved dancefloor destroyers and soothing machine music. A sonic trek through tough and taut textures with touches of tenderness. An album that shows a depth of ability, an enviable talent and a knowledge of how to break floorboards.

Shipwrec continues to carve out its own sonic universe with this new EP from a mysterious Detroit outfit, The Valley And The Mountain (aka TVTM). The identities behind TVTM remain unknown, but they have released on Belgium's cult label WeMe and in 2013 surfaced with their Assembly Required EP. Across five cuts here they explore crunchy, richly musical ambient, electro and slo-mo techno. First is 'Uncharted Systems', a slow and meandering cut full of atmosphere and metallic synths. Acid lines, lazy claps and smeared pads all add to the sense of drama and its fair to say this is a hugely unique sounding track. 'Detxploit' then picks up the pace with tough arps, chattering clap and filtered vocal musings that walkabout Detroit as the tension builds and the electro vibes grow stronger. 'Chasing Magnetic Particles' is then a beatless, abstract bit of futuristic synth work with twinkles, breaking wave like sounds, pained lines and undulating modulations all stretching out for the duration. 'Rockfall' is a serene and bittersweet affair with crunchy drums, poignant, cutting chords and gurgling synths; a rusty coloured soundscape that makes you feel and think as much as dance. Lastly, 'Outer Reaches' is a downbeat brew of slapping drums and apocalyptic dark disco moods that, like the EP overall, is woozy and intoxicating.

Felix Lenferink has graced labels like Fourth Wave, Triphouse and Wolf Music with his electronic wizardry under monikers like Frits Wentink. 2012 saw Lenferink debut on Shipwrec, this dynamic artist delivering skewed bass and raucous beats in the form of the Forlane EP. Lenferink returns to his homeland label with new instalment, Forlane II. Whirring machine funk pours from speakers, Lenferink melting samples with pulsing drum patterns. Melodies arc and fade, harmonies quaking under condensed bassline. This swift soundweaver dissolves genres, splicing broken beats with echoed electronic memories. Shifting sonic sands and divergent textures. Comes with a full-colour doublesided poster and a download code for this EP + bonus track that is exclusive to the vinyl.

Time for homegrown talent, one of the godfathers of Dutch Techno and a true electronic music pioneer: Maarten van der Vleuten. This trailblazer has appeared on classic labels like R&S, Djax Up Beats and his own Signum Recordings, to name but a few, with his brand of machine music. Returning to Shipwrec, MVDV serves up his own recipe for Electro in the form of the ‘Internaut EP’. The title piece takes the rhythmic mould of the 808 but shifts the floorboards with industrial soundscapes and UK Techno sidesteps framing. A morphing and melting piece of otherworldly Electronics, over ten minutes of shifting synthsizer sands. “Holographic Inserts†lands with terse clips and pulsing basslines before a rumbling analogue chord breaks the surface. Warbling bulwarks of space meet clinical lines in an immense track of expansive proportions. An epic of atmospheric, sinister and sharp sounds; a style p ushing t he boundaries of Electro. The first 150 copies are pressed on coloured/marbled vinyl. Comes in a silkscreen printed pvc sleeve.

With this EP he's not only blending these two genres, but taking them to another level as well. In three tracks we are being treated to fresh broken drum rhythms, lush harmonics, intricate atmospheres of sound and sexy female vocals. Top-notch production skills again by Felix Lenferink, after successful releases on Rotterdam’s Triphouse (as Frits Wentink), Fourth Wave (sublabel of Ramp) and Lomechanik (as Urkelle). Limited to 200 copys including amazing doublesided poster + download code. Tip!

Hot release by Neil Landstrumm & Mat Consume, who did a first Shit & Cheap release on Scandinavia in 2001, and 2012 seems a good year to tear it down with a totally unexpected raw & raving electro banger for the Dutch Shipwrec label. Inspired by 60’s surf & garage and later punk & wave, the drum machines are set to give us the essential kick’s, clap’s and hihat’s we need for that oldschool electro vibe. The Trashmen’s Surfin’ Bird gets a remake dipped in acid and with Shadowlands pre-dubstep skills take control, but nevertheless, all tracks have those wobly basslines typical to Landstrumm’s music combined with unique vocals that make this release something special and definitely standing out! This release comes in a sick designed three colour silkscreen printed sleeve, limited to 300 copies including a download code to redeam the digital tracks from the label.

With Former Descent, Bas Welling (Neurobit) is taking his music into a new direction. More than the breakcore, noise and digital hardcore he got know for the last couple of years, you can expect some dancefloor friendly electro experiences, weird dubstep like broken beats, phat acidic basslines and some beautiful ambient to end with. This EP is not for the faint-hearted and shows, once again, that anything could happen on the Shipwrec label. Highly limited to 200 copies!

Inofaith searches carefully for his own sound, and takes on the experiment with his debut 12. This EP features the tracks ‘Dawn Is Late’: a very orchestral, deep piece with a very welcome 2-Step kind of beat. It follows up with ‘Girls Go To Bed Early’: which illuminates a more synthetic depth of the release. The subtle resonance on the synths brings the track alive. The other side of the record starts with the enchanting, yet uplifting ‘Twelve Hours’. You realise you are getting caught in the music when the feminine voice kicks in and lets you drift in circular patterns. The final track is called ‘Nocturne’: calm as the title may seem, it's the most energetic and glowing track of the EP. Inspired by the atmosphere of dusk on a spring evening, it closes the EP with some cinematic movements. First run pressed on coloured vinyl, limited to 200 copies.

the nice Shipwrec label comes with another fine release that has been produced and manufactured with care and love! Georgious handmade artwork, sweet tracks that go further then just aiming on the dabcefloor and getting huge sales! . Lost&Found is Einóma’s new EP, out in February 2011 on Shipwrec. The record features one long new track on the A-side as well as two older and previously unreleased pieces for the B-side. The main track ‘Bla’ was conceived after editing real-time and live sessions made for gigs after the release of last years ‘Tvenna’ EP. The sound material ‘Bla’ was initially made from was quite old and the idea and title of the EP ‘Lost and found’ came about, reworking of older ideas in a new setting. The A-side demonstrates the more dancefloor side of Einóma while the B-side explores the more dark and dense regions Einóma have become more known for.
