Iron Curtis has felt like a Polytone artist for quite a while now. He recently delivered a breathtaking remix for Matthias Vogt, and shared a split EP with the man himself, Terrence Dixon.
He's also played several label nights, but indeed "Unwind" is his first very own EP on Polytone.
The opening track "Riders" is our floor filler here. A subsonic bass experience of the more intensive kind. It´s a pure groover, with a surprisingly long lasting breakdown that never lacks on intensity.
'Cream' on the A2 is a stellar ambient joint, with rhythmic elements and cosmic pads.
On the flip we have the title track, 'Unwind', with an unconventional basic groove, bleepy touches and trademark 707 drum machine sounds. Pure and stunning deepness. The Final track is a remix from Force/Emerge and leads "Unwind" into techno territory. Polytone stands for diversity, and again demonstrates the labels vision of versatility here.

After his successful remix of Orion's "Gravity" Johannes Volk returns to Polytone with his debut EP. Two excellent techno tracks are in place and a spaced out ambient piece called "It Could Happen" describes the mysterious view from a spacecraft cockpit into the wideness of the universe. On the
A-Side Volk blows the whistle of the EP's title "Asteroid Riding" with funky chords accompanied by a wide deep bassline, short samples, classic percussions and a cropped stomping kick-drum, that let you ride through the orbit. On the B-Side "Earthbound" pounds with a broad hollow kick, arpeggiated synth's, alerting sounds and a harmonically settled type of string-line that eases the element's diversity like the blue planet's gravity. Within the tracks that have been built to transport the feel of time and space, Johannes Volk again pushes himself on the cutting edge of electronic music.

YNK's 2nd EP for Polytone is much more than a continuation of his earlier records on Polytone and Tenderpark. Instead, the young artist wants his new EP to be seen as an autonomous work which draws on a multitude of different materials. This leads to a very fluid texture of samples, synths and drum machines and a very detailed structure at first sight - however, all elements fit into each other very nicely and make way for the bigger picture if you take a step back. The compelling main theme of "One-Oh-One" on the a-side subtly emerges as a reprise on the b-side of this record that deals with the various forms of happiness. Between these two sits Benedikt Frey's remix of "One-Oh-one" that creates a form of deepness rather unheard in his other productions - a kind of introverted free electronica that defies the boundaries of house and techno. All in all, "High On Endorphin, Low On Gasoline" is an EP which may be a bit more uncommon for the sound of Polytone. Nonetheless, the label from Frankfurt is very happy to have YNK back for a stunning new record. The artwork of the record comes courtesy of Lithuanian-born artist Kristina Suvorova.

This is Matthias Vogt's third installment on Polytone Recordings!
With "Maintain" he proves distinct feeling for musicality once more: As Vogt is an accomplished Jazz pianist, he is able to move easily between uplifting drive and harmonic substructures.The flip side deals with the welcoming of two illustrious remix artists to Polytone's roster: Bleak and Vince Watson.
Bleak is renowned for having his musical output released on labels like Delsin and Deeply Rooted House. On remix duties Bleak drops hell of a Detroit vehicle. Based on significant drum grooves his remix will ultimately shake the dancefloor to its foundations.
Vince Watson's discography goes back to the mid-nineties and we vainly tried to keep track of his enormous musical output. Maintaining the spirit and the vibe of Vogt's original tune Vince Watson takes the original track and turns it into a string and pad driven sonic exploration perfectly fitting for Polytone's eclectic approach.

Up for remix duty is Exploration head honcho Johannes Volk, known additionally for his quality output on Axis, Sistrum and more recently London's Tief Music. Johannes certainly delivers for the Frankfurt imprint utilising punchy drums, sharp modulations and oscillating synth lines to dish up a robust and hypnotic re-imaginging.

A track with character and a high recognition value: hypnotic rave stabs and uplifting chords combined with a driving groove will send shivers down each true music lovers spine. "Copying the future" is delivering deja vu´s without copying the past - a great track with a past and a future, deeply rooted in the here and now. "Stillach" claps its way into every listeners ear. Motorcitysoul (together with Frankfurt's House legend CRock),
Matthias Vogt has been teaching lessons in
deepness for years now. In his solo works Vogt's profound
education as a Jazz musician is just as present. Thus,
"Together As One" is carried by wonderfully deep chords,
which are accentuated by a contrapuntal bassline. A
classic male vocal highlights the soulfulness even more

two versions of electronic music Paulo Olarte is particularly
interested in as he has proven with his records on
Diynamic or his own imprint Fresh Fish. For his first 12“ on
Frankfurt's new entry, Polytone, former Hamburg-resident
Olarte gives full scope to his perferences. „Vayas Donde
Vayas“ comes with a wonderfully housey feeling and a rich
fund of harmonies, whereas „Sweet Sugar“ plays the role
of the Techno bouncer for the tradition-conscious and
discerning dancefloor with its deep Detroit flavour. In his
remix of „Vayas Donde Vayas“, Antonelli concentrates on
