Daniel Solar is one half of Dikso, the excellent edits imprint responsible for many a disco-rinsed dancefloor burner over the last year. The Hannover native is also one of Berlin’s emergent talents, a DJ, producer, label owner and A&R intent on bridging the gap between disco and dance music, while coaxing the techno-loving city’s tastes a little further off the beaten track. As a child of the early 80s, Daniel was strongly influenced by synth pop and dance music, before rap and hip hop caught his imagination and inspired his first forays into production. Once he had finished school, Daniel became more and more and intrigued with house and techno, clubs and raves, and his studio style expanded to take in electro, techno, and deep house until we arrive at today and his latest release: Too Much Light EP.

Solar activity on DiKSO ! Label boss Daniel Solar returns with a new EP and some helping hands from Stee Downes on the mic, Florian Kruse & Nils Nuernberg with the mixer and Berlin homie Mario Aureo on the composition. The tracks are ranging from disco to house, from mild to wild and should keep the audience from start to finish. A1 - Daniel Solar - Someday Someday... somehow... it feels good! Does it point the direction to the promised land? Or is it just the hope for a better sexual experience? Send a mail to Doctor Solar. Meanwhile have fun on the floor with this peak time piano driver. A2 - Daniel Solar - Someday (Kruse & Nürnberg Remix) Pimp my car, pimp my track... More beats, more piano, more more. Try this for hot & spicy or go back to Daniel's version for the original taste. B1 - Daniel Solar & Mario Aureo - I Do Believe (feat. Stee Downes) This is the voice of planet... Stee Downes. Dikso couldn't resist and asked him to join them on stage. Together with longtime production partner Mario Aureo he completes a new dream team and with "I Do Believe" they couldn't have started better. B2 - Daniel Solar - Cookie Dough And what are we having for dessert? A disco-infected mid-tempo groover called cookie dough? Thank god you can dance the calories off with it.

DiKSO from Berlin drop another amazing EP ! After five Super Sound Singles here is Dikso's very first artist EP and of course it will be Daniel Solar's job to do the kick-off. His Retrospect EP features the most zippy stuff Dikso has released so far without being an ordinary house record.
The percussion is minimalistically filigree, the atmosphere is fluffy and Aniya's voice on "Can You Really Know" comes direct from outer space... er... down under. DIKSO006 A1 - Summer, sunshine, a picnic basket full of delicious food and wine and someone to share a walk in the park. Sounds cheesy? Yes, you are right... but remember that every park has its dark corners. DIKSO006 A2 - Daniel teamed up with Aniya Ouu, the grand lady of "Melbourne Deepcast", a blog from a few down under brothers and sisters in spirit. Intercontinental and interblogospheric, interdisciplinary and... (fill in a word of your choice that begins with inter) DIKSO006 B1 - Thee role model of Deepslowmonudiscoeditchicagoacidwhateverhouse. After finishing two longplayers earlier this year he spent some time to refine Daniel's track. The original shines through but everything is a little bit deeper, darker, stronger. It's still a walk in the park, but imagine the voices of owls and some undefinable dark shadows instead of wine, women & song. DIKSO006 B2 - We still have his brilliant EP for Permanet Vacation in our ears and synapses and now he is here with a stirring remix for prime times and big rooms. The boys from Dikso borrowed Pional, probably Spains best kept secret, from John Talabot's Hivern Discs camp who delivers a real monster of a track. John, they have promised to give him back, later... someday... somehow... More

With previous release on PHIL, Midnight Shift, Amajin Records and Luv Unlimited, Germany's Simon Hinter makes his Tenth Circle debut with Nomina EP. Ranging from the blissful, Innervisions-esque house soundscapes of lead track 'Regenmacher', through the breezy, jazz-led groove of 'Adhs' to the laidback funk of 'The Cop', Nomina EP is a meticulously crafted EP from a producer at the top of his game. Following previous releases from M.ono, Vin Sol and Greenville Massive, Nomina EP is another assured and diverse release for the London-based Tenth Circle

Moody melodic synth patterns, stripped back electronic percussion and haunting hypnotic vocals. May I present the latest masterpiece from Reuben Tobias: Portraits EP. A finely balanced deep underground pop release that will no doubt hold the attention of such names as Troxler and Jamie Jones. The structure, complex enough to hold interest but simple enough to maintain elegance, takes you on a journey through the mind of Reuben Tobias as you listen attentively to every word of the self expressive lyrics. The B side lead, Marran, shares very much the similar characteristics as Portraits. Minus the lyrics, Marran uses subtly layered electronic synths and the comforting sound of young children playing outside to suck you down into a place of complete concentration. Your focus becomes stuck in fascination for the sounds guiding you through the duration of the track right to the last second. A brilliant EP. Not one for the clubs but certainly one for the collection.

Next up from Defected's Tenth Circle offshoot, is an EP from the highly in demand DUFF DISCO. A trio of laidback, disco-infused house grooves are elegantly provided on the 'Sunshine EP' by Duff Disco aka Jeremy Duffy. Ideal listening for the summer months, the EP demonstrates Duffy's prowess as one of the most original producers on the scene today, and moves though shimmering pads, quietly bubbling synths and stunningly beautiful chord progressions, creating something that is totally unique and utterly spellbinding.

Tenth Circle launches with EP from UK deep house prodigies. With a focus squarely on the more underground elements of house, techno and electronica, Tenth Circle will be bringing previously unknown names to the attention of the dance music community in 2011 and beyond. The label will launch this month with an EP from Bournemouth based outfit Zoo Look. Comprising three young and exceptionally talented producers - Samson King, Craig Watkins & Alex Warren - Zoo Look's Holding On EP sets the bar high for the deep, melodic, lush sounds with which the label will aim to make its name. Title track 'Holdin' On' is a slow, spacey trip through layers of luscious pads, shimmering chords and echoed vocals, while on the flip 'Space & Time' is an intensely satisfying excursion through the very deepest foundations of house.
