Solar activity on DiKSO ! Label boss Daniel Solar returns with a new EP and some helping hands from Stee Downes on the mic, Florian Kruse & Nils Nuernberg with the mixer and Berlin homie Mario Aureo on the composition. The tracks are ranging from disco to house, from mild to wild and should keep the audience from start to finish. A1 - Daniel Solar - Someday Someday... somehow... it feels good! Does it point the direction to the promised land? Or is it just the hope for a better sexual experience? Send a mail to Doctor Solar. Meanwhile have fun on the floor with this peak time piano driver. A2 - Daniel Solar - Someday (Kruse & Nürnberg Remix) Pimp my car, pimp my track... More beats, more piano, more more. Try this for hot & spicy or go back to Daniel's version for the original taste. B1 - Daniel Solar & Mario Aureo - I Do Believe (feat. Stee Downes) This is the voice of planet... Stee Downes. Dikso couldn't resist and asked him to join them on stage. Together with longtime production partner Mario Aureo he completes a new dream team and with "I Do Believe" they couldn't have started better. B2 - Daniel Solar - Cookie Dough And what are we having for dessert? A disco-infected mid-tempo groover called cookie dough? Thank god you can dance the calories off with it.

Daniel Solar is one half of Dikso, the excellent edits imprint responsible for many a disco-rinsed dancefloor burner over the last year. The Hannover native is also one of Berlin’s emergent talents, a DJ, producer, label owner and A&R intent on bridging the gap between disco and dance music, while coaxing the techno-loving city’s tastes a little further off the beaten track. As a child of the early 80s, Daniel was strongly influenced by synth pop and dance music, before rap and hip hop caught his imagination and inspired his first forays into production. Once he had finished school, Daniel became more and more and intrigued with house and techno, clubs and raves, and his studio style expanded to take in electro, techno, and deep house until we arrive at today and his latest release: Too Much Light EP.

DiKSO from Berlin drop another amazing EP ! After five Super Sound Singles here is Dikso's very first artist EP and of course it will be Daniel Solar's job to do the kick-off. His Retrospect EP features the most zippy stuff Dikso has released so far without being an ordinary house record.
The percussion is minimalistically filigree, the atmosphere is fluffy and Aniya's voice on "Can You Really Know" comes direct from outer space... er... down under. DIKSO006 A1 - Summer, sunshine, a picnic basket full of delicious food and wine and someone to share a walk in the park. Sounds cheesy? Yes, you are right... but remember that every park has its dark corners. DIKSO006 A2 - Daniel teamed up with Aniya Ouu, the grand lady of "Melbourne Deepcast", a blog from a few down under brothers and sisters in spirit. Intercontinental and interblogospheric, interdisciplinary and... (fill in a word of your choice that begins with inter) DIKSO006 B1 - Thee role model of Deepslowmonudiscoeditchicagoacidwhateverhouse. After finishing two longplayers earlier this year he spent some time to refine Daniel's track. The original shines through but everything is a little bit deeper, darker, stronger. It's still a walk in the park, but imagine the voices of owls and some undefinable dark shadows instead of wine, women & song. DIKSO006 B2 - We still have his brilliant EP for Permanet Vacation in our ears and synapses and now he is here with a stirring remix for prime times and big rooms. The boys from Dikso borrowed Pional, probably Spains best kept secret, from John Talabot's Hivern Discs camp who delivers a real monster of a track. John, they have promised to give him back, later... someday... somehow... More

As we draw proceedings to a close with Part 3 Last Supplement - we take a moment to reflect back on what Nathaniel X has meant not just to us at Undertones, but the entire culture of deep house as a whole. This is not the end - it's merely the closing of one chapter and a transition into the next.

It's often said that sequels never live up to their originals but, in this case, we'd like to take a slightly different stance. The ingredients might have changed however, the recipe is still the same as we introduce the sequel that is greater than equal - Supplement Deux. Four more slices of organically grown, 100% authentic house music from the mind of NY house icon - The Nathaniel X Project.

The Nathaniel X Project is a name that is perhaps familiar to most of you by now. His latest release came courtesy of the wildly popular "My Love Is Underground" record label released in 2010 and then re-released in 2012. Nate's pedigree spans directly back into the thick of the 90's era with a multitude of productions with Vil-N-X on Island Noyze as well as multiple contributions on major releases ranging from house to hip-hop and everything in between. There is no doubting the man's prowess and we as a label are privileged to be able to release a new EP chalked full of his authentic deep house sound. This is a special, vinyl-only edition of our Undertones catalog. It will never be released digitally and will be accompanied by a commemorative record jacket that is limited to the first 500 copies and is pressed on 180 gram vinyl – a true collectors’ item!

To most of you, Orlando B needs no introduction. With a bevy of sublime releases on YORE, Orlando makes the rare visit outside of YORE and we're extremely pleased that he's chosen us to do so. "The Harlem Connection" EP boasts two original joints by the London native that are definitely miles apart from each other in terms of sound. To help us round this EP out in proper fashion, we signed up someone for remix duties that we've had our sights set on for some time now in Kez YM. Kez brings his signature blend of deep beats and big basslines to the fold and rinses "Harlem Connection" as only he can do. The vinyl release will be out in a couple of weeks now so your feedback, as always, is huge! If you like it - let us know & feel free to chart it, podcast it, & play it at your gigs!

It's no secret that Melbourne, Australia have been on quite a savage tear as of late. Melbourne is home to such folks as Lewie Day (aka Tornado Wallace), Mic Newman (aka Fantastic Man), Francis Inferno Orchestra, Weekend Express, The Tortoise, Andy Hart, and the rest of the fine folks at Melbourne Deepcast. For the 11th instalment on our Undertones imprint, we're pleased to present a stunning four-tracker of proper, lo-slung Melbourne deepness served up by a freshnew talent who simply goes by Kitano. We're excited to host his debut release and hope you'll join us in welcoming him to the fray!
