Berlin based label Mo’s Ferry Prod. is celebrating the release of the 4th studio album by their very own Dapayk Solo. Titled „#nofilter“ the album will be out on Oct 12, 2015. Since 1996 producer Niklas Worgt is regarded as one of the most creative and versatile protagonists of Europes club scene. Several projects for his label Mo’s Ferry Prod., like the „I LOVE VINYL“- Festival or the work on new Dapayk & Padberg releases have kept him busy during the last 5 years.
But finally he came around to spend some „solo“ time in the studio. After having turned to a more melodic and gentle side on his last two album releases as part of the german electronica duo Dapayk & Padberg, „Smoke“(2013) and „Smoke- The Family remixes“(2014), Worgt is now being much more experimental and edgy in his productions. „I wanted the sound to be very focused“- he says about his vision for album #4. More straightforward, more reduced, more
analog and dirtier than „anything i have done before“. On „#nofilter“ he combines elements from his early days in breakbeat and drum’n'bass with minimal
and techhouse to his very own and very unique signature sound - far off the beaten club sound track. Worgt aims to challenge his audience, willing them to see that there is more than just one way of doing things. Well aware of the fact that: „..some of the tracks might not be for everyone at first glance. But
it’s always good to do things in an unexpected way, to change the listeners perspective.“ Niklas Worgt also proofs his provocative and humorous side with the album title „#nofilter“, statistically prooven to be one of the most commonly used hashtags. A keyword, often headlining the fact that a filter has been used. And evidence that all of us like to play with tricks every now and then, to optimize the truth. „I wanted to look at the cliche of the big, gloomy nightclub, where everyone has to be credible and cool all the time, with a hint of humor. I think it’s important to show people that there are different levels on which they can have fun and just enjoy themselves.“ „#nofilter“ is a perfect demonstration of how much Dapayk Solo is enjoying himself and his work. „If

Mo's Ferry vinyl #73 named “Gravity Drive EP” is Patrick Vano's third release on the label and a worthy follow up to his 2013 album “The Other Side Of Me”. For Mo's Ferry Patrick Vano is not only a reliable producer of functional peak time material, but also an incredibly talented dj who prooves his skills on regular label showcases as well as the I Love Vinyl open air. The new EP is about anti-gravitation. Vano tries to bring this topic to the dance floor with minimalistic means. “Gravity Drive” reveals his keen sense for timing and balance of warm roaring beats, ravy hooklines and
blockbuster vocal snippets. He creates an energetic state on the floor that keeps the crowd moving on its own. In track no.2 “Sick Bastard” Vano locks the listener in a time loop. A beat dry as a bone and a constantly repeating melody – rough and reduced to the max like in the best times of Minimal Techno. The tour is concluded with “Hopeless”, a 10 minutes piece on the full b side with spheric and almost psychedelic elements, thematically refering to the Trance genre. In summary, on his new “Gravity Drive EP” Patrick Vano manages to combine three dj tools, of which – depending on the playtime – at least one piece should match.

The A side containing the title track and “The Best For The Rest” belongs to the dry grooves and accented bass patterns. On the B side Greeko follows the path of his “Kill EP” and focuses more on room effects. The track “Wild Spirit” shows that he is not afraid of excessive melody parts. Unfortunately, the space on a vinyl is very limited. Therefore, the track “Less Is More” is a digital bonus to the four tracks on the record. Greeko's releases up to this date, for instance on Yuma, Sincopat and Noir Music, show that
this guys has a big goal in mind.

After the release of his album “Angular” half a year ago Mathias Schaffhauser and Mo's Ferry invite to discover the new remixes. The Frenchman Nicolas Masseyeff and Jorge Ciccioli from Argentina ensure international scope as well as musical variation. On the A side Masseyeff turns “The Best Bad Idea” more into the fuffy techhouse genre and gives the track a refreshing summer fair. The steadily driving beat in combination with an effective house chord is skillfully enlivened by improvised percussion elements. In contrast the B side plays more in the darkness. Jorge Ciccioli is staying faithful with his roots and packs the track “Schnuppe” in a minimal techno dress. The typical foundation of a rumbling subbass sound and a dry machine beat is topped with a truly hypnotising bassline. Besides the two remixes the 12” vinyl also features the two original tracks by Mathias Schaffhauser. Technoid sound, without compromise and to some extent brutally pushing forward.

In September 2013 Mo's Ferry presented the fourth album “Smoke” by Dapayk & Padberg. Dark, gloomy and atmospheric – it should be more listening, than dance. Now, with the release of the first remixes the Berlin-based duo as well as renowned artists from the Mo's Ferry label family serve the dancefoor, again. Since the release of the album their track “Silent Fireworks” has been a candidate for a 12” single. And a remix by Marek Hemmann and another edit by Dapayk complete this vinyl perfectly. Marek Hemmann turns the original in a lively, ear-catching hymn for every sun worshipper. He makes use of the full toolbox from ultra harmonic basslines to pleasing melodies. Dapayk sat down again and formed a new version of this track with focus on danceability. Very laid-back the remix grooves into your ear. But it keeps the longing mood of the original version by spreading the lead vocals in far distance. The second track on the b side is the album version, for comparison.

Jedi Jet graced us with their presence on Mo's Ferry more than once... most recently with their mini album "Little Things" including remixes. Somehow, the two Croats always make the right combination of rocking house grooves with funky Frickelsound treasures, which they gather at the wayside. With "Two Side Story", they celebrate their minimalistic weirdness on a fully packed 4-tracker 12inch. UKbased producer Tom Ellis (Trimsound, Minordust) contributes an easy-going, reduced, but tremendously swinging remix of the title track. The flip continues with quirky rhythms supported by a punchy kick drum. It simply rocks!

Mr. Statik is back on Mo's Ferry with his new EP “Roll Down The Shutters”. And he got massive support from Sasha Perera (Jahcoozi). She performed the laid-back vocals on this release. Remixes by Dapayk and Daze Maxim complete the package - but enough with the name dropping. The original track shows influences in dub, but with an elegant touch. Stathis often uses minimalistic 80s drum sound patterns and smooth bass lines. The specific topic of this tune lies in the depth of tape echoed chord sounds and the pretty cool vocals of Sasha Perera, as already mentioned. Btw, she also played the horn parts. Dapayk moves his remix more in the tech house genre. He obviously changed tempo and bass line to get enough drive for a peaktime floor filler. But he also leaves room for the original vocals and the horn section. Daze Maxim's remix is more in the minimal direction. Despite the loose tempo of the original he brought a new definition and focus to the beat. He takes only a few snippets from the vocals but plays extensively with the modulation of the chord sounds. Mr. Statik himself marks the finish of the EP. His dub mix slowly rolls down the shutters.

Looking for alternatives. With their longplayer „Smoke“ they bid a temporary farewell to the dancefloor. They are taking new paths, searching, trying new, never before seen patterns. These paths led the duo from the golden hills of the Provence to the dark autumnal lowlands at the border between scotland and england. The influence of those places is felt throughout the whole record with its atmospheric hybrid-tracks. Against all expectations, sometimes even against their own nature as artists, letting go of all too familiar and comfortable structures. „Smoke“ is all about overcoming those lines between different genres, letting go, opening their mind to the new, „without worrying about fitting into a certain niche or having to compromise“, Eva adds. „When we had the structure for about two thirds of the album set up, we realized that we‘re heading into some dark waters. Mo's Ferry presents a brand new super groovy house EP by [a]pendics.shuffle and Dilo. Two years ago their first release on the label was filed under their alter ego Cascabel Gentz. Now, after making the decision to reveal themselves to us, the new tracks feel even more personal and heart warming. On the A side is the driving but also kind of trippy "Wonderful Wonderfall". Dapayk's remix adds more definition to the track and moves it towards the techy department. The deep "Drifting Away" on the B side impresses with beautiful laid-back vocals embedded in a dreamy cloud of slowly spinning pads. Kenneth Scott partly waived the deepness to give room for extensive and creative bassline work. This is another wide range Mo's Ferry release.

That's why we instantly loved the idea of Sven re-staging himself in the same pose but in a new guise. This picture disc documents a 30-year-long transformation, both sonically and visually. A1: L'Esperanza (Original Album Version) 1993 Produced in 1993, this track has certainly not lost any of its charm over the years. B1: L'Esperanza (Hardspace Mix) 2023 A revised version of the "Hope Will Move Mountains Mix" by "Visions Of Shiva" occurs on the B-Side in the form of Len Faki’s hardspace mix. Len is renowned for his elegant edits and refined modifications as part of his side project, this time delivering a stripped-down 135 BPM version that fits perfectly into the current zeitgeist. A club version of "L'Esperanza" that radiates a high level of euphoric energy, constantly pushing the rhythm patterns forward. All hands go up in the air at the latest when the piano part starts in the middle section. Let’s go back to the good old days of the original 90s trance sound since the cheerful arpeggio synth melody takes us along.

There are mysterious records. Records hiding and showing something at the same time. This is one of them. It is made from two records that were most probably released in the mid-1970s, most probably primarily by Turkish Roma.
It brings together what Anadolu pop music lovers always dream of: Anatolian geleneksel (traditional folk tunes), disco and funk, jazz and hard rock, psychedelic sounds, hard-hitting drums, Arabesk percussion, and hip-hop friendly breaks. Put together in a careful, smooth production with a warm, relaxed and dance-friendly vibe.
Here you get it: Roma-nized instrumental Turkish pop music in all its facets of the 1970s.

The follow-up to the first Acid Sampler is now in the hands of a single artist. Space Dimension Controller does Running Back the honor to leave his fingerprints on the (usually) silver box - and it’s a match made in heaven. The Irish man’s music is mostly a nod to the subtle and more delicate ramifications of electronic music. His Acid Sampler is no exception. Most of the EP presents itself as an ode to the brain dance vibe of acid house rooted music. While leaving out the harder and faster styles of the genre, SDC manages to pour his heart and soul as a producer into these four charming tracks.

Kosmische Conga works as the leader of the pack and pirouettes with memorable hooks, synthesizer swells and descant acid lines. Echopet introverts the whole concept, while Minehead peaks with it. Named after the seaside town that harbored the Bloc Weekend festival, its a warp-free romantic reflex of the brain dance vibe – or a heartfelt love song for circuits. How do you go on after a feast like „The Division“ - especially if it included a main course like Neutron Dance? You don’t! And you don’t even have to try. But like with any great meal, one can do magic with the leftovers (see chop suey, stew or goulash for further reference). In any case, Krystal Klear doesn’t need to worry about that. Having cracked the DNA code of „dance music“ on his first EP for Running Back, this double-A-side-follow-up-single feels alive, floats upstream and fires on all cylinders. While Euphoric Dreams is the musical incarnation of an Alexander Shulgin formula (your spine gets tingled all the way including a wonderfully prolonged break down) or the scoring of the proverb that „at the bottom of patience one finds heaven“ and „happiness is just around the bend“. Speaking of which, Miyoki does exactly that to every pair of knees around. A relentless bass line and a deadly snare („yes, you thrill me, when you fill me“*) are enough to force almost any kind of dance floor into submission.

Halle Weissensee (or Weißensee if you wish) starts where Sascha Funke’s last Ep for Running Back stopped. Mesmerizing house and techno music that interweaves classic forms with modern means and looks through the lenses of nostalgia with an open mind.
The Halle was a former engine plant in Berlin that got converted into a rave areal for the now legendary Mayday raves and one of the birthplaces and leading spots of the nineties. Coincidentally and unknowingly, 1993’s winter edition was attended by Funke and Gerd Janson and a conversation about it spawned this record. Don’t be mislead: this is not a retro rave fest, but an ode to the esprit of the times, the possibilities if an envisioned future and maybe most of all an afterglow. While Reality (sounding like a Relief record if the label would have been a topic at Bauhaus university) and the warped bleepiness of Halle Weissensee itself come closest to the actual sound aesthetic of that very night, Fantasy invokes the language of contemplative deep house from vintage New York, while Puzzle evokes a notion of what the same thing could be with the prefix progressive instead. Reality often falls short behind fantasy, but once in a while both complement each other very well.
