Volta is one of the most sought after producers in Russia. One of the newest members to the Balance Music Group’s family and he brings versatility like no other producer out there. His productions go in every direction from cosmic disco to deep techno. He is also known as Isaev and his other alias Common People under the Bal-ance Alliance anchor. This young producer has set the course for the next generation of future producers. Not only is he a producer but his live sets are second to none, and we are glad to have him in the family. London based label ISM serves up a massive EP with three tracks from Russian disco producer Volta Cab, all of which offer some seriously downtempo grooves. "Play On" and "Magic In Your Eyes" nail the classic sub 110BPM disco sound with its lush live instrumentation. However it's the shining 80s feel of "He's A Bad Mutha" that is the most impressive, melding a sleazy vocal with a heart-rending combination of synths and horns. Label bosses Yam Who? offer two remixes, with their version of "Play On" a cosmic uptempo version of the original, with an ascending synth bass that elevates the original vocal to new heights. Their remix of "He's a Bad Mutha" adds a similar amount of extra dancefloor kick, removing the original's yearning melody for something a little more forceful.

El_Txef_A (pronounced "Elchefa") has crafted a work that just like its journey-conjuring title, charts a shifting palette of sounds and moods, exemplifying its creator Aitor Etxebarria's breadth of skill. Produced entirely in Aitor's homeland of the mountainous Basque Country, the album showcases the talents of not just its creator who producers, sings and plays piano on the record, but also some of the Spanish region's most outstanding musicians. Local artist Biskonti is one contributor, whose vocals coat a brooding bed of rough-cut drums on the ice-cold slice of electronica 'I'm Going to Paint You', while Hannot lends his pipes to the moving 'You Left Us In This Physical World' that sweep over a delicately crafted brew of guitars and keys. Both Basque vocalists featured on El_Txef_A's debut 'Slow Dancing in a Burning Room'. Sublime title track 'We Walked Home Together' turns into a family affair, with Aitor's brother Hibai playing the grand piano. A graduate at 2013's Red Bull Music Academy in Madrid, El_Txef_A has an impressive array of sonic strings to his bow and the Detroit techno inspired 'Claim of Planet Earth' deliciously rubs shoulders with the album's single, the alternative slice of pop 'The Love We Lost' featuring DFA's Woofly. After the success of last year's long player, Slow Dancing In A Burning Room, El_Txef_A and Fiakun join forces once again to release a set of remixes taken from the album. The remix package will be released digitally and on a special 10" limited edition vinyl, featuring two remixes from the brains behind Permanent Vacation as well as Danish producer Kasper Bjørke. The digital release will feature two extra tracks including a deep disco remix of "Feeling Idiot," from Austin-based Andres Aguirre as well as the more melancholic re-interpretation of "A Place To Fall Apart" by Berliner Peter Armster. This pack will be released ahead of the second studio album from El_Txef_A, scheduled for release sometime mid 2013.

The Fiakun label teams up with the highly talented Piek, who together with Samuel Fitch & Mianyo delivers some superb disco inflected house in the shape of ‘Hemingway’... Fiakun’s last release saw the Spanish label drop the excellent ‘Voodoo’ by Mexican producer Cesar Coronado, a record which caught the attention of Djs such as Huxley, Maceo Plex & Ralph Lawson. Now the hotly tipped imprint returns with a brand new single, this time delivered courtesy of the excellent Piek. Piek hails from the North of Spain and has over the last few years become one of the countries most promising and prolific producers dropping releases on labels such as Azari, Cray1 LabWorks, Inmotion and Paulatine, the label he manages with Uner and Baum. Now he joins forces with Mianyo and vocalist Samuel Fitch to create this standout new release for Fiakun. The A side features the original version of ‘Hemingway’, a richly produced, disco inflected house outing that fuses warm electronic bass, retro keys and rolling percussion to create a stunning soundbed for Fitch’s soulful and intense vocals, quality stuff. The flipside sees ‘Hemingway’ handed over to remixes M.V.I.P. better known to the world as Mathias Vogt and Ian Pooley, who deliver a version that journeys into techier territory with its tight drum programming and old school house influences working a treat. The young artist delights us with music full of new sounds, adapted to the infinite complexity of today's electronic music. Despite the apparent distance between the Basque Country and Mexico, both have been working closely for the production of this glazy work, which is reflected in the 12'' currently presented to the public. In this new EP, the inimitable Till Von Sein and Dixie Yure signed two separate remixes endowed with the delicacy to which we are accustomed. The first one has chosen the main tune "Voodoo", implying his darkest side, while the second one makes a riskier bet mixing an experimental rhythm.

Fiakun comes back again, after having released El_Txef_A's debut album and having received good vibes, this time to present from the deepest of the Basque Country, the Oren Bi guys. They have signed this Fiakun 006 which is received with much love. The pair of musicians and in turn we could say that music lovers, focused the EP on the hottest House with some R&B leanings. Besides, they are making use of synthesizers like the most exclusive Moog to delight us with some arpeggios that evoke a purer era. These two Hits are accompanied with a Remix by Sergio Santos.

After years of dedicated work, El_Txef_A announces his debut album "Slow Dancing In A Burning Room". El_Txef_A stands for a specific and complex sound signature. His primary concern to develop a sound that people can identify with as well as just simply enjoy freely. Continuing in the Bilbao tradition, he is building a base of pure sampled sounds with studio sessions, live musicians and vocals to complement his production. Collaborations with vocalist Bisconti and Hannot supplies added depth to tracks like "Rise and Fall", and previous single "Lovely Minds" or "Save The World".
