KiNK & Neville Watson return with their fourth release to date. 'A Saturday In September' is their first vocal track, featuring Kim Ann Foxman (of Hercules And Love Affair). KiNK & Neville Watson keep delivering dance floor candy. Their future-retro Chicago house output made quite an impact on the scene over the past few years. With 'A Saturday In November' they keep their signature retro sound, but shift their tribute focus slightly on late 80's New York and it's 'freestyle' days. On vocal duties is Kim Ann Foxman of Hercules and Love Affair fame. Together they have created a sexy and classy groove, which brings back fond memories of the golden days of NY house. The song erupts halfway through to peak level, after which it picks itself up gracefully into that smooth groove. The Dub Mix on the b-side evolves around a bad ass snare drum, the way Todd Terry used to kick it. More

For Tevo Howard's first CD release we've married his two EP releases for HHYR: Crystal Republic from 2010 and the brand new Pandora's Box. Next to that two more tracks are added, 'Move' from 2009 as well as 'I Won't Lay Back', from Rick Poppa Howard's s/t EP of the same year. This makes up for a comprehensive compilation showing some of the best output from his recent catalogue. Though his tracks are heavily inspired on the early days, his productions sound very crisp and ‘today’. The 'Crystal Republic' tracks show his emotional and raw warehouse side, whereas on the 'Pandora's Box' tracks Tevo experiments with different rhythms and textures, which results in a varied set of tracks, from classic Chicago acid house to more Italo leanings. After the emotive release of Rick Howard, its time for HHYR to step it up a notch again with fellow Chicagoian Ricardo Miranda, who already gave us 'Black Acid' last year and also was featured on Rick Wilhite's 'Vibes' compilation. 'Floorwax' urges us to do the damn thing, assuming that he leaves us no choice but to slam dance to this hypnotic acid work out, which reminds us slighly of earlier DJ Funk material. 'Redline' further explores the boundaries of acid house originale. It starts out with just drums and a pulsating acid line, but halfway through a utopian string line eases in and shows us the way to the promised land. Keep your heads up and dance to the music.
