Following up his successful foray of sampling on OTP Party Breaks, Andy Ash finds himself diving head first into the darker outer limits of big room dance music. ?Another World? nods its head to techno?s yesteryear, more specifically Detroit. Imagine a slower version of the Motor City?s soulful chord pulsing sound and you?ll find yourself in the right ballpark. Add to this Andy?s finishing jacking touch and the result is golden. This time around OTP?s remix work finds Italian man of the hour Nicholas, from No More Hits (label) fame and OTP?s very own Marcos Cabral.

Sales Note
Assured UK house producer Andy Ash takes care of the next EP on SAFTX while the equally esteemed Mark E steps up to remix.
For well over a decade now, Andy Ash has been turning out high-quality house music on a range of labels. Last year he served up a tasteful full-length on Quintessentials, the year before he dropped a double 12" on Still Music and he is also a regular at the likes of Delusions Of Grandeur. From deep and dusty to disco-tinged and dynamic, he has a stylish sound that is well-versed in the classics but always his own twist. He shows that again here with four fresh tunes which cannot fail to make you feel good.
Opener 'You:Me' features Faber and os brilliantly warm house groove. The drums and hi-hats are prefectly designed, the vamping chords bring a playful funk and swirling pads add diffuse late-night energy. It's timeless cut with nods to the US midwest and subtle vocal sounds.
Remixer and Merc label boss Mark E has a rich history of edits and originals on the likes of Running Back, Delusions Of Grandeur and Studio Barnhus. On this version, he lays down hazy, heavy kicks for a beatdown workout that comes alive with gorgeous synt work akin to all the best Detroit dons.
Ash's 'Momentary Days' is a slow and roomy, dubbed-out house swinger. Well-placed samples - vocal coos, guitar riffs, jazzy chords - all peel off the loose drums and can't fail to get you moving. 'Reach' is another humid house cut for cosy back rooms and basements. The Scruffy drums have frayed edges while dreamy melodies loop up top. It's a heartfelt sound that slowly turns you to deep inward reflection.
Last of all is 'Rico! Rico!', a downtempo jazz-funk jam with crisp broken beats, keys that take you to the Riviera and strings so lush you can almost feel the sun on your face.
This deep house music as it should be - raw, expressive and full of human soul. More

A2 : Life feat. Faber
B1: I’m here feat. Amber Kuti
B2: In the village
C1: Os talking
C2: Mad affection
D1: Another
D2: Letting go feat. Nexus Techne
Short info:
„All The Colours“ was a concept that came about from Andy Ash bringing together his music and visual art in an attempt to try and identify the common ground between the two. In both mediums, Andy attempts to convey the full range of human identity – at first you see and hear euphoria and playfulness, but look a little closer and you will also notice anger, sadness and tension. On this album, Andy approaches house music as the vehicle to convey many different feelings. These tracks are designed to be played on the dancefloor and bring people together – this is what house music has always been about!
The whole album was made over a two-year period in Andy’s home studio using a mixture of analogue hardware and samples. During this period, Andy was suffering with some significant mental health problems and this album represents his attempts to channel this energy into something productive. This is also the first time Andy has worked with vocalists, bringing a new dimension to his music. Whether it is the old school inspired „The sound“ which features vocalist Erik Rico, or the deep and moody „I’m Here“ featuring Liverpool vocalist Amber Kuti, this album brings many different shades of house music to the table! A real statement!

Andy Ash - Bottleneck

Andy Ash - Actual Price
Andy Ash has been quietly sneaking out seriously good analogue-driven electronic music on some of the best underground labels for over a decade. The Liverpool-based producer, DJ and visual artist (the artwork for this re- lease is Andy’s own oil on canvas) has graced the likes of Chicago’s Stilove4music, NYC’s On The Prowl, Sydney’s People Must Jam and has remixed Fantastic Man for Detroit label Kolour LTD amongst many others. The bottom line is that he’s definitely one of the UK’s unsung heroes when it comes to deep, raw, Chicago and Detroit-influenced house music and we’re proud to welcome him to Delusions Of Grandeur with an amazing three tracker entitled the Bottleneck EP. The title track opens with snappy hats, flappy congas and sloppy baseline all sitting perfectly in the mix and with a looseness that is much harder to achieve that it may seem. A simple synth melody doubles up the bassline while an extra square wave lead adds that little extra hook without distracting us from the bouncing groove. With Bottleneck, less is definitely more. Flipping over we have Hump, an altogether darker affair with a twisting acid line joining distorted 808 drums and tripped-out snippets of spoken word coming in and out of focus. The low-slung bumpy groove and spacey synth parts make this a compelling warehouse track which will draw everyone into it’s seductive confines. Closing the release we have Actual Price, a shuffling, deep groover with rumbling low end and machine-like analogue synth part skipping around the crunchy beats. A cerebral yet punchy and dynamic closer to an excellent release!

andy ash - B2. DOMMAH
To keep people guessing, the fifth instalment from Australia's best selling People Must Jam label takes things in a house direction with Andy Ash at the controls. Andy has put through an immense EP of varying house flavours to satisfy an all tastes. The EP kicks of with the monster disco vibed 'Hurricane Fantasy' track. A beautiful summery looper that's sure to keep the floors burning hot! 'Move'is one of Andy's straight up house cuts - which he is becoming well known for, a deep sounding organ line carrying the track forward with stabs and a nice little vocal sample to boot. Mixing things up a little on the flip, our good friend - Ron Basejam has provided a sublime 'Adriatic Excursion' remix of 'Move'. Ron takes the track to a totally different place with uplifting piano lines and orchestral string stabs building to a lovely crescendo. This remix should be earmarked for Croatia 2015. Finally 'Dommah' takes the EP into almost techno territory with building pads and solid beats resulting in a monster track for when the strobelight pulses and the heads go down! 180g Vinyl - Strictly limited.

The Liverpool man, previously associated with labels like Black Key and Scenery as well as having released on this label in 2012, serves up three tracks of well-rooted, beautifully analogue sounding house that's rich with both musicality and physicality. Three more killer tracks from Andy Ash, then, that whilst paying heed to house music's long heritage also look to the future in their serene synth patterns and proud production techniques.

Tracklisting: A Workin B1 Mindflow B2 Release and Check Pt.1
Liverpool’s Andy Ash has been releasing finely crafted, authentic house music for a number of labels over the past few years, including appearances on StilLove4Music, Kolour and Quintessentials. Here he joins Steve Bug’s Dessous imprint and drops some of his best work yet - four
slices of deep and raw house grooves. 'Workin' shares a little headspace with that other Liverpudlian pioneer, John Heckle - emotionally uplifting electronic music that keeps things rough round the edges. 'Mindflow' references the classic sound of Chicago in the early 90s, a disco/funk vocal sample interplays with tightly woven percussion and an ever present bump - Mr. Ash clearly knows a thing or two about moving dance floors. 'Release and Check' makes up the remainder of the EP - a deep, rolling jam with live sounding keys, and a highly effective acidic bassline which send the whole to several both groovy and euphoric moments. Liverpool based Andy Ash hits the SAFT imprint with two excellent analog house jams. The overall sound Andy comes up with, hints to the early machine driven house sounds from the late 80s on the A1 ''In Love'' whilst transitioning into the more jammy house sound Andy has been purveying on his string of latest releases on his A2 jam called ''Black Stem''. On the B side SAFT regular ''Kastil'' provides Andy Ash's ''In Love'' with a heavy machine rework. Kastil proves he has been crafting and perfecting his production skills with some new hardware gear. This remix hold the intense feel of a 4am sweaty club session. All and all SAFT proudly present the 5th installment in their series of pure and all round house releases. SAFT05 will hit all well-known record shops in September, of course in the beloved 12'' format.

Marcos Cabral and Jacques Renault's latest On the Prowl 12" features the return of Andy Ash, the man who dropped "Another World" with them last year (OTP007) as well as a grab of edits on OTP Party Breaks way back in 2010. As is to be expected with the talented, young producer, the EP is all groovy, bouncy, high-octane house with a hardy injection of disco glitz.
"Get Loose" is what its name implies--an elastic, fidgety whirl of dancey guitar strums; a heavy bass that pans in and out, mimicking the experience of opening the door to an underground club; and a playful keyboard melody. "Love Me Straight" is a spacier affair, with a lounge-y pulse and hypnotic synth hook that creeps in, out, and around your ears. The Deep Space Orchestra remix amps up the bass of the original, making the entire track sound like it's being played under water. And "You Show Me" is a perfect example of Ash's trademarks all coalescing into one big pile of shuffling dance floor fun--you can almost see the swirling disco ball lights through your eyelids and feel the smoke machine juice snake into your nostrils. In the not so distant past, a certain Chicago house sound found it's way to clubs worldwide. A jacking house sound made up of anything producers could get there hands on. If you had a cool alarm sound, you could throw it under a 909 and watch dancers freak out. DJ Rafael's new EP for On The Prowl is a nod to that era. While he's not using an alarm as his tool, you'll notice the "in your face" style in which it's based upon. Some of you might know Rafael from his earlier Miracles Club releases for Cutters and Mexican Summer. This time around Rafael Fauria joins friend Brian Foote for some on the edge jack tracks which are both packed with acid and foot stomping percussion.

After debuting on the limited Hamilton Dance Records, NYC's own Time Reveals lands itself its first starring role. Comprised of Marcos Cabral and Susan Domelsmith, their new single "Let My Body" is aggressive to say the least. Super jacking hardware sequenced analog synth lines backed with chanting vocal loop punishes the dance floor. The duo turns over their parts for remixing by handful of known artists; John Selway from long time techno fame (check his discogs), Permanent Vacation (as in the record label), and last but not least Canadian freaks Ambalance. The remixes are a nice variety of deep techno, disco house, and slowed down electronics. Highly Recommended!

Looking back at the On The Prowl catalog one will notice the string of Italian producers; Simoncino, Nicholas, Marvin & Guy... OTP's love affair with Italian producers continues with South Italy's Nasty Boy. With a half dozen EPs already under his belt, he continues his forward march down the road of deeper house. His tracks tend to have a lovely melancholy with simple pads, and a vibe that's hard to ignore. To round off the release OTP's very own Runaway (Marcos Cabral & Jacques Renault) find themselves with their first remix since remixing Lauer for Running Back Records. Following in the same path, this remix is both deep, jacking, and playful. Hopefully this is a sign of more Runaway to come.

OTP lands a nice package starring a handful of talent. Headlining the bunch is the mysterious Room 303 with "You Don't Know Me", a solid tail of bittersweet melodies and heartfelt vocals that wouldn't be out of place during strip club after-hours. A2 sees Canadian Sean Roman (who's known for his releases on Hot Creations, Under The Shade, Strictly Rhythm and many more) deliver a joint effort with buddy Dick Diamonds. Together they off us "Dawn Crondlemyers", a bassline driven house track with sprinkled vocals, and a funky synth part snaking around with extreme portamento. The entire B-Side dedicates itself to Germany's Tuff City Kids, the alter ego of Running Back's Gerd Janson and Phillip Laur. They nail two solid mixes of Room 303's "You Don't Know Me", coming up with a change of pace and pushing things into piano and acid house territory...driving and pulsing.

After several go-to 12s on the always reliable Let's Get Lost series, the mysterious Marvin & Guy drop their first On The Prowl release! First up is "Estacy" with driving percussion and a string driven groove that keeps building with subtle drops and hits. Marcos Cabral takes it into deeper territory with his heavy remix, definitely pushing the bottom end for the big room where it should be heard. On the flip we have "Moon Import," a moody rhodes driven vocal track with panning synths to get you in a daze. Then some upbeat disco house with "Shot Me" - a perfect track for your next loft party.

Northern Irish garage/house duo Ric McClelland and Sean Grieve make a guest appearance for NYC's On The Prowl! Some of you might know Ric from Seven Music, NRK, Large Records, Night Drive...etc. Together they join forces for "If You Want / Move Back" with remixes by Giorgio Luceri and Club Silencio, both of whom have had previous releases on OTP (Club Silencio being an alter ego of Robotalco). "If You Want" gets things moving with a deep house style layered with a big upfront bassline and super lush pads that are straight outta Detroit! Built to please big rooms in the early morning. A2 has Club Silencio showing his remix finesse by adding some organ key stabs in the "Gypsey Women" territory. Proper early 90's house vibes but still maintaining a modern edge. "Move Back" shifts the mood toward a more disco feel with balaeric style guitars and laid back and groovey bassline. On the remix Luceri adds his music touch while keeping things driving with steady snare fills and old school drums.

OTP Party Breaks #7 is finally here! Kicking off 2013 with a stellar collection of tracks that have been staples in their recent DJ sets. Marcos Cabrals' "Latin Box" on A1 duties with proto-house styled sounds and his signature dubby synth treatment. Kon loops up a killer break and which twists and turns making it all his own. Jacques Renault on flip with some proto-house madness! And NYC's WOOHOO brings ups the party vibes with his disco banger "Nightwalker." All in all the EP has Party Breaks living up to its name and then some. Great record.

Every once in a while a record or in this case an EP comes along and it's so bursting with feel good vibes that even the most cynical dance music listener can't resist. At the mere age of 19, Francisco Davalos is about to grab the attention of many. Simply put, the young mexican has a superb ear for the language of music. After a recent 12" on Nurvous (Nervous Records new sublabel), On The Prowl finds itself lucky to land these four tropical themed disco tinged club bombs. With hints of what made Tensnakes's "Coma Cat" so successful the Bronx skillfully puts together his "Tropical EP" packed with plenty of playful pianos, strings, congas, marimbas... there's no holding back.

Evan Stalker, - Need Your Love
The latest offering from Jacques Renault and Marcos Cabral?s On the Prowl features the work of Evan Stalker, a Los Angeleno who?s a visual artist by day and a production wiz by night. The four songs included on this 12? are meticulously-layered, lusciously-arranged deep house jams of the highest quality. The record kicks off with ?Parkway,? the chillest of the package. It?s an easy, swinging tune that ebbs and flows like the Pacific during high tide with jittery synth ditties dancing off the atmospheric washes. The A2 is Runaway?s remix, and while they leave the original structure mostly intact, they add some oomph to the bass kicks and distort the melodies, fuzzing and glitching them out to yield a more hard-edged final product. The flip?s first tune, ?Downtown,? is, as the name implies, of a more urban nature, and definitely intended for a late-night warehouse rager. Anxiously, the song pushes ahead with an aggressive, pumping bass line and frantic, sharp synth chords, assertive handclaps, and a hi-hat that?s got plenty of swagger. The 12? wraps up with ?Need Your Love,? which finds Stalker picking up the pace even more, this time embracing an acid house aesthetic. The four tracks come together to form a little narrative that begins with a cool night drive down the Pacific Coast Highway and ends up deep in L.A.?s after-hours party circuit.

Epithet, - Bluenote
For the second installment of On the Prowl X?another offshoot of the parent imprint?label honcos Marcos Cabral and Jacques Renault have dug up an exciting newcomer to the world of house music: Epithet. The 12" kicks off with "Bluenote," a moody, deep groove that smoothly creeps up in a swirl of maraca shakes, snaps, and sensual vocals. The second a-side cut, "Lightpipe," is a funkier affair, the throbbing, underscoring beat sounding lopsided, disoriented?definitely a hypnotic, late-night burner that will linger in your ear long after the strobes and smoke machines have been powered down. The flip features a remix of "Bluenote" by the Finnish mainstay Roberto Rodriguez, who's had recent success on 20/20 Vision's sublabel, Fina. Rodriguez deftly adds a few more bells and whistles to the original?a marimba here, a fidgety synth there?to inject the jam with a fresh take on classic New York/New Jersey house. Together, the three songs ooze into one another as though they're each different sections of a single continuous piece, and represent the latest OTP aural sucker punch.

On The Prowl appears to be on a roll with it's new found artists. Following up Robotalco's success on the previous OTP, Giorgio lands himself in anthem territory. The A1 track "More Heart" is big, catchy, and totally feel good house vibes with disco styled horn flourishes. The A side inside cut "Basement 6D22" takes us near Kerri Chandler with delayed brassy chord stabbing and long organ pads. Flipping the record over reveals a stunning slo mo disco house workout, filled with jam style organ riffs and amazing synth horn parts. For B2 we get a Perscription style deep house track with all the right dark drifting chords. Excellent release.

The mysterious Robotalco serves up four deep house cuts for NYC's On The Prowl. "Robo's Road" kicks things off with the right amount of hissing strings and slow drifting vibes that win it's A1 spot. Next up we have "It Gets To Me", which strips things back a bit with pulsing synths, sparse congas, and perfectly placed vocal snippets. On the B-side we get "Moon Robot", It keeps things rolling with it's stompy feel and more of what's becoming Robotalco's signiture swirling synth pad sound. Rounding up the release for B2 is "Zuk Zuk", with it's quirky low slung groove that develops into a latin percussive gem...it's really a superb way to round off Robotalco's OTP debut. Well done.
