A few times a year, a label releases a single that rocks the industry and the upcoming release from Hidden Recordings does just that. Gregory Shiff, who has also released off of such high caliber label’s as Stewart Walker’s Persona label in Berlin, produced the original and the label enlisted techno luminaries Adultnapper, Tony Rohr and Pheek, along with Deepak Sharma and Dieter Krause to add remixes to put together a five track monster that will, and should be in the crates of DJs around the world for the rest of this year and beyond. The best part about the release? The remixers brought their A-game and put forth effort that has helped make them some of techno’s most revered producers and artists. Simply put, all five tracks rock and will pound the dancefloor.

New York City’s Hidden Recordings has provided a wide range of techno to hundreds of DJs and fans since 2006. The label’s sound ranges from deep techno to atmospheric chill-out with quirky grooves and has been played everywhere from big room gigs and festivals to smaller lounges and early morning terraces.

This four-track vinyl is an absolute must have for those who love to play a chugging, driving style of minimal and techno. Produced by Barcelona’s Pablo Bolivar, “Looking for a Shape”, pushes the depth and groove that he is known for, but in a more aggressive yet subtle way. The original doesn’t allow one to breath with constant changes in percussion and amazing flow. His “Phase Two” track will annihilate the speakers in clubs with deep bass and is a sharp, tightly wound percussive masterpiece. The remixes offered are by Monkey Brothers, who take a very different turn with the track and offer a soft vocal and is perfect for the dance-floor as it delivers a strong pop for those later in the night moments. Finally, the last track on the record is Hidden Recordings Owner Deepak Sharma + Dieter Krause’s interpretation of the original. They have created a more slowed down, druggy, groovier version of the original. It’s not quite as smooth as the original and that’s a good thing as the extra glitch is great for those who need more punch in their sets. There is something in this release for all kinds of DJs. Support from the world’s finest DJs and artists such as Pier Bucci, Argenis Brito, Butane, Maetrik, Gregory Shiff, Ambivalent, And ID, Barem, and Noah Pred.

The 2nd record from Hidden Recordings comes on the heels of resounding success from the first record which saw stores in Berlin re-ordering more! This record again features four tracks, two produced by label owners Deepak Sharma + Dieter Krause showcasing their first track using a female vocalist. "Spheres" is a sexy deep minimal groover which has received support from the likes of Remute, Greg Shiff and Pablo Bolivar. "Cubik" is a fuinkier groover, using a variety of synth stabs to keep the tracks energy high. On the flip side, are two remixes that Deepak Sharma + Dieter Krause completed for artists on their label. They too have been receiving a lot of support including the remix of Karri O's "Ajaton" reaching the #1 download on Kompakt-MP3. The track has a nice contrast of deep pounding drums and a soft melody that tells a story perfect for late in the night, or during the day on terraces. The remix of Monkey Brothers "Manuela" has seem support from the likes of Alexi Delano and Maetrik, and is deep rumbler with strong definitive percussion to give a late-night vibe.
