Luis Flores enters the world of Hidden Agenda. Once home to just productions from label boss Dietrich Schoenemann and Tony Rohr, the label has added the likes of Misc, Shokh+Star, Bau and Metalogic. Veteran of Mexico's techno scene and years of pushing innovating and non-conforming concepts, Luis has developed his own production style that is precise and hypnotic with a healthy degree of dance floor groove. His first release on Droid Recordings was enthusiastically lauded and in put into heavy rotation by the likes of Chris Liebing and Speedy J. Already he is gaining momentum with interest from DJ heavyweights and international tours in Europe, China, the U.S. and elsewhere.

Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn. Julian Muller joins the Collective with a brilliant release that exposes at the maximum level his abilities to transfer emotions and vibrant landscapes where you can freely run and have your own experience, with no time indication, and with no compass. "Frustration" signs a moment in the career of the artist where his desire to show who he really is, but everything around him starts to become smaller and smaller, the artist feels the need to express in his whole form his art, and right when everything looks far, he finds his path. This record signs a very important moment for the artist, but even more for the user that will encounter the record, the idea is to let the record take you, wherever you want to go.

luis flores - "Surface Tension"
Droid Behavior’s Luis Flores comes through with a 2-track ace for the label’s 20th vinyl release, Static Forces. Negative Pressure (A1) starts off with a brewing undercurrent of bass and hypnotically builds into a dizzied cavern of competing sonic forces and reverberant whispered utterances. Surface Tension (B1) takes an alluring shaken groove and reveals its drive as its elements make their way to the front, slowly pushing the track’s rhythmic intensity. Two tracks for long play and lost minds. Silk screened jackets on black sleeves.

Tracklist: A1 Program A2 de-Program (Tommy Four Seven Remix) B de-Program
Short info:
For CLR078, the Berlin based Techno imprint calls upon on one of Mexico's most reliable provider of unconventional, genre crossing electronic music.
As usual, Luis Flores delivers his unmistakable trademark style with a minimal use of elements, a rich spectrum of textures and a dark, trippy dance floor pull.
On "Test Pattern", the man who actively helped Guadalajara, Mexico, to become a hot spot for electronic music, releases two outstanding original productions entitled "Program" and "de-Program". On the second track of the EP, a remix of "de-Program" by Tommy Four Seven, CLR's core artist and consistent producer of exceptional Techno, picks up and accentuates the slow burning, hypnotic vibe of the original and takes the listener on a deep and exciting sonic exploration.
Both tracks by Flores are skilfully crafted "A" sides and will, like many of his previous work, make it into the playlists and charts of the most respected players in the scene, which along Tommy's remix, makes this EP a must for all aficionados of cutting edge, bass-heavy Techno.

Blank Code start 2014 off strong with their latest EP Rituals of Submission, produced by Luis Flores, with remixes by Black Asteroid and DJ Hyperactive. The opening track Discipline starts off with a nice creepy atmosphere supported by a solid kick and just the right amount of percussion to hook you into the tracks core rhythm, which stays consistent while the supporting percussion keeps the intensity of the track in constant motion. Black Asteroid's Discipline remix gives the track a whole new perspective, while staying true to the original's excellent use of classic elements. The straightforward kick and upbeats work perfect with this track's industrial bassline, while cleverly programmed analog synths carry the track with slow triplet rhythms, and quirky stabs that drift off to space. Luis Flores' second original composition, The Word, follows the same philosophy as Discipline, with many elements coming together to form one solid rhythm. This is a huge sounding track with intricate metal percussion and pitch modulated stabs that form a dark and inciting hook which is overtaken by filtered claps as the track progresses. DJ Hyperactive gets down to business with his remix of The Word and lets his Chicago roots shine through as hats on all fours and hard hitting claps are used to raise the energy sparked by the deep kick and well processed stab.

First pressing LIMITED white vinyl+limited screen print covers. 300 only. 300+ will be black vinyl in standard jacket Luis Flores’ upcoming New Flesh EP is the Mexican producer’s second release for the American powerhouse techno imprint: Droid Recordings. The title track, built around the "new flesh" vocal sample from cult horror movie: Videodrome, is a dark, trance inducing affair, constructed around the soundscapes the modulated voice renders and the subsonic groove that identifies Flores’ productions. Drumcell pushes the track into deeper, darker territory, showcasing his mastery of modular synthesis, and delivers a hypnotic experience which seamlessly carries the listener from beginning to end in the most organic fashion. CLR mastering resident, Brian Sanhaji, dramatically transforms the piece into a screeching industrial monster, armed with relentless drum work which takes full advantage Sahhaji’s sound expertise, resulting in a wall of sound that demands the listener’s full attention. Flores' B title: Excision, completes this release with an adrenaline-fused take on the Droid sound. Driven by a rolling bassline, the track propels the audience through a tense, paranoid journey, riddled with metallic vocoded voices and synths and a wasp-like sounding shaker that keeps anyone listening, ever on alert. Delivered on limited edition white 12” with hand silk screened jackets, this marks a benchmark on Droids physical releases, going beyond the inherent functional aspect of the object and into the fetishistic lust vinyl promises. All is rounded up with the inclusion of French artist and photographer Nihil Sth work, through his piece “Human”, as the focal image upon which the artwork and the release’s extras are constructed upon.

Mexican techno veteran Luis Flores makes his debut appearance on the Droid Recordings label with Dain Brammage. As both an artist andmusical catalyst, Luis has shared many ideals with the members of Droid. After many years of pushing progressive concepts that are both innovative and non conforming, Luis has developed his own production style that is precise, hypnotic, and maintains a healthy degree of dance floor groove. His title track is a deep journey into psychedelia and unearthly bass. Brammage contains only a few essential elements, each tripped toperfection. Sparse eerie vocals carry nicely along the 6 minute sequence. Flores' inside track "The Call" is a slow and steady builder with dark subtle vibes and crisp hand claps. At four minutes Flores' introduces a rippling synth gate that trips listeners deeper into submission. Very heady, very essential.

The original Hidden Agenda duo reappear for a three track EP of bass funking beats. 'Copy' rumbles in the same mode as HA027 'Deleter of the Pack' and is packed with synth layers. This track spent time in both artists editing session before it was ready for release. Already a featured cut in Adam Beyer DJ sets. 'Paste' began as a private cut only being used in live/DJ sets by Rohr/Schoenemann. Old formula 303+808 is the basis, however this is far from retro. The 303 climbs backwards like a drunken sailor. Magic.'Repeat' is the epic battle of bass vs hand claps. Thick bass bites carry the tune and the grooves swing. This one throbs.

New artists to the label Alex Bau(CLR/Zenit) and Marco Polo (Toneaman) team up as the Gordon blue Orchestra. The long player is a mix of dirty room techno and minimal manipulation. Mood swings all the while pumping the bass and keeping the energy flow steady. A twisted attack for the massive. Bau’s mix of ‘Empty Plate’ is pure prime time. The groove rocks the floor with basshits and nervous drums. The mix is a greating mixing tool for all styles. Marco Polo’s mix strips it back to basics. The swingin’ jack rhythms highlight and the breakdowns peak perfectly. Full on minimal...maybe.

A throbbing minimal yet pumping 4 tracker of 808 laced cuts. 'Aerobits' grabs right away with the bass from the 808. Drum clicks are finely tuned and edited for your delight. The bouncing synths only accent the massive hole created. 'DonerFreq' is instant energy. Clap attacks snare and snare hits on the the electro toms. As if speaking the drums wait for the clouded bass to carry it further. Flip it over for 'Lockjob' and 'R3v3rs3r'. First track layers analog kick drum and thick shakers to build the base for an off-set rhythm. Swings it up. 'R3v3rs3r' is a flipped around edited chopped up workout. The main hooks pushes and the percussion does not relent.
