Olene Kadar, - sarg wualb
Short after the latest (develish) Dapayk single Mo’s Ferry fields the Dutch guy Henk van Zwol aka Olene Kadar again. His label debut „vakbekwaam“ (mfp035) is still fresh and we do remember him playing his liveset on some of the spring-time Mo’s Ferry labelnights where he was soaked in sweat during his performance. All this established a solid relation between Amsterdam and Berlin, which is about to be expanded. The new release „paying billl“ presents two new Olene Kadar masters. On the A-side there’s „sarg wualb“ taking the subject of „i-modulate-that-siren-until-everybody-gets-up-from-his-seat“ to the next level. On the flip side called „betrokken“ the young man proves that a track with extensive usage of edgy „frickelsound“ elements doesn’t have to end in a top-heavy electronica-piece, but can be directed to the floor, very straight forward and impulsive techno. These two tracks show once more what Henk van Zwol demands from his body and his consciousnes when playing live. On top of the tracks on the vinyl release Mo’s Ferry presents another free downloadable track on the website www.mosferry.de

Everyone knows this feeling, when a hook line of a track won't let you go. One says it is a tune wedgie, even if it sounds a bit weird in the clubbing scene. But never you mind, you just start singing out of the blue. Olene Kadar just hit the bull’s eye with “yipyippyip“. This track impresses with an extraordinary addicting Ragga Vocal and puts on top his breathtaking freaky beat wrapping. One wonders where to put this into a greater content: musical seriousness or simply the fun factor. But in the end people always go crazy, when Olene Kadar rocks one of the countless parties in Holland. The artist playing right after him faces a difficult time...That is what Dave Aju might have had in mind. His remix heads for another direction. Very relaxed and reduced to the bare essentials he slows down the tempo to garnish this fantastic groove with the vocals and e-piano chords. So cool. On the flip you will find the dashing rave monster "neal deepersma", that brings Olene Kadar’s former releases on Mo's Ferry back to mind. On the label website you will get a free bonus download called "looking for an". Check on the release date.

Olene Kadar, - button
Olene Kadar... Well, sounds like the occident. But that's the completely wrong track. Behind this moniker you'll find a young man by the real name of Henk van Zwol and he's from Holland, more precisely from Friesland. All but far away from the bigcity-club-socialization a wondrous, but fascinating character grew up, that just started to spread out. It would be a schame to just leave him to the machinery of the club music business today. But first of all, the most important thing, his music: Olene Kadar's A-side track "button" is most clearly described by one word: Excess! Because that's the result when you are dancing on the floor smoothly and inagitated and then this insane, frantic modulation of sounds is irrupting. Sure, there's a need for a proper loudness and an extented low end (a little more than usual) is helping a lot to intensify this moment. What DJs build up over a set of two to three hours, "button" offers the peak in barely eight minutes. The B-side starts with the title track "vakbekwaam". Straight pumping bass, numerous crazy cirulating percussion elements combined with a manic vocal sample disconnected from reallity. Hypnotic, almost like the singings of shamans, that's what it's like when Olene Kadar constantly changes the mix of all inherent elements. The last track "honderd dollar bill" brings back the Rave signal again. This time it is surrounded by a more quiet rhythmic pattern. The track is intended to be a point of rest, but no break - because it lasts for just a moment, until the next A-side is kickin' in...

Short Info:
Berlin based label Mo’s Ferry Prod. is celebrating the release of the 4th studio album by their very own Dapayk Solo. Titled „#nofilter“ the album will be out on Oct 12, 2015. Since 1996 producer Niklas Worgt is regarded as one of the most creative and versatile protagonists of Europes club scene. Several projects for his label Mo’s Ferry Prod., like the „I LOVE VINYL“- Festival or the work on new Dapayk & Padberg releases have kept him busy during the last 5 years.
But finally he came around to spend some „solo“ time in the studio. After having turned to a more melodic and gentle side on his last two album releases as part of the german electronica duo Dapayk & Padberg, „Smoke“(2013) and „Smoke- The Family remixes“(2014), Worgt is now being much more experimental and edgy in his productions. „I wanted the sound to be very focused“- he says about his vision for album #4. More straightforward, more reduced, more
analog and dirtier than „anything i have done before“. On „#nofilter“ he combines elements from his early days in breakbeat and drum’n'bass with minimal
and techhouse to his very own and very unique signature sound - far off the beaten club sound track. Worgt aims to challenge his audience, willing them to see that there is more than just one way of doing things. Well aware of the fact that: „..some of the tracks might not be for everyone at first glance. But
it’s always good to do things in an unexpected way, to change the listeners perspective.“ Niklas Worgt also proofs his provocative and humorous side with the album title „#nofilter“, statistically prooven to be one of the most commonly used hashtags. A keyword, often headlining the fact that a filter has been used. And evidence that all of us like to play with tricks every now and then, to optimize the truth. „I wanted to look at the cliche of the big, gloomy nightclub, where everyone has to be credible and cool all the time, with a hint of humor. I think it’s important to show people that there are different levels on which they can have fun and just enjoy themselves.“ „#nofilter“ is a perfect demonstration of how much Dapayk Solo is enjoying himself and his work. „If
you had asked me 10 years ago, where i would have seen myself today, I wouldn’t have been able to give you a straight answer. If someone asks me that question now, I can say that it will definitely be in making music.“ More

Dapayk & Padberg welcomes the autumn season with „Layers“. The original version on their 2013 longplayer „Smoke“ is a delicately written piece of slowly evolving poetry, that now is wrapped in deep interwoven coats. The new clubby Layer 3 version by Dapayk & Padberg is haute musique, that not
only leaves a warm shiver in your head but also salt on your skin. Track 2 on the a side is Chloe's dark sounding, little black Oeuvre, that impresses with minimalistic clarity. On the whole flip you will find a jazzy Rampa remix, who gives the song a light accent of playfulness, which swings opposite to the
lyrics but still matches. Additionally, you will find a second version by Dapayk & Padberg on the digital release, that once again shows what kind of multi musical master piece dwells in the original „Layers“. More

Short Info:
Mo's Ferry vinyl #73 named “Gravity Drive EP” is Patrick Vano's third release on the label and a worthy follow up to his 2013 album “The Other Side Of Me”. For Mo's Ferry Patrick Vano is not only a reliable producer of functional peak time material, but also an incredibly talented dj who prooves his skills on regular label showcases as well as the I Love Vinyl open air. The new EP is about anti-gravitation. Vano tries to bring this topic to the dance floor with minimalistic means. “Gravity Drive” reveals his keen sense for timing and balance of warm roaring beats, ravy hooklines and
blockbuster vocal snippets. He creates an energetic state on the floor that keeps the crowd moving on its own. In track no.2 “Sick Bastard” Vano locks the listener in a time loop. A beat dry as a bone and a constantly repeating melody – rough and reduced to the max like in the best times of Minimal Techno. The tour is concluded with “Hopeless”, a 10 minutes piece on the full b side with spheric and almost psychedelic elements, thematically refering to the Trance genre. In summary, on his new “Gravity Drive EP” Patrick Vano manages to combine three dj tools, of which – depending on the playtime – at least one piece should match. More

B1: Schnuppe (Jorge Ciccioli Remix)
B2: Schnuppe (Original Mix)
Short Info:
After the release of his album “Angular” half a year ago Mathias Schaffhauser and Mo's Ferry invite to discover the new remixes. The Frenchman Nicolas Masseyeff and Jorge Ciccioli from Argentina ensure international scope as well as musical variation. On the A side Masseyeff turns “The Best Bad Idea” more into the fuffy techhouse genre and gives the track a refreshing summer fair. The steadily driving beat in combination with an effective house chord is skillfully enlivened by improvised percussion elements. In contrast the B side plays more in the darkness. Jorge Ciccioli is staying faithful with his roots and packs the track “Schnuppe” in a minimal techno dress. The typical foundation of a rumbling subbass sound and a dry machine beat is topped with a truly hypnotising bassline. Besides the two remixes the 12” vinyl also features the two original tracks by Mathias Schaffhauser. Technoid sound, without compromise and to some extent brutally pushing forward. More

A: Silent Fireworks (Marek Hemmann Rmx) B1: Silent Fireworks (Dapayk Rmx) B2: Silent Fireworks (Original Mix)
In September 2013 Mo's Ferry presented the fourth album “Smoke” by Dapayk & Padberg. Dark, gloomy and atmospheric – it should be more listening, than dance. Now, with the release of the first remixes the Berlin-based duo as well as renowned artists from the Mo's Ferry label family serve the dancefoor, again. Since the release of the album their track “Silent Fireworks” has been a candidate for a 12” single. And a remix by Marek Hemmann and another edit by Dapayk complete this vinyl perfectly. Marek Hemmann turns the original in a lively, ear-catching hymn for every sun worshipper. He makes use of the full toolbox from ultra harmonic basslines to pleasing melodies. Dapayk sat down again and formed a new version of this track with focus on danceability. Very laid-back the remix grooves into your ear. But it keeps the longing mood of the original version by spreading the lead vocals in far distance. The second track on the b side is the album version, for comparison. More

Jedi Jet graced us with their presence on Mo's Ferry more than once... most recently with their mini album "Little Things" including remixes. Somehow, the two Croats always make the right combination of rocking house grooves with funky Frickelsound treasures, which they gather at the wayside. With "Two Side Story", they celebrate their minimalistic weirdness on a fully packed 4-tracker 12inch. UKbased producer Tom Ellis (Trimsound, Minordust) contributes an easy-going, reduced, but tremendously swinging remix of the title track. Tracklist 12”: A1: Two Side Story A2: Two Side Story (Tom Ellis Rmx) B1: Camel Ride B2: Alley Cat
The flip continues with quirky rhythms supported by a punchy kick drum. It simply rocks! More

Tracklist 12”: A1: Roll Down The Shutters (feat. Sasha Perera) A2: Roll Down The Shutters feat. Sasha Perera (Dapayk Rmx) B1: Roll Down The Shutters feat. Sasha Perera (Daze Maxim Rmx) B2: Roll Down The Shutters feat. Sasha Perera (Dub Mix)
Mr. Statik is back on Mo's Ferry with his new EP “Roll Down The Shutters”. And he got massive support from Sasha Perera (Jahcoozi). She performed the laid-back vocals on this release. Remixes by Dapayk and Daze Maxim complete the package - but enough with the name dropping. The original track shows influences in dub, but with an elegant touch. Stathis often uses minimalistic 80s drum sound patterns and smooth bass lines. The specific topic of this tune lies in the depth of tape echoed chord sounds and the pretty cool vocals of Sasha Perera, as already mentioned. Btw, she also played the horn parts. Dapayk moves his remix more in the tech house genre. He obviously changed tempo and bass line to get enough drive for a peaktime floor filler. But he also leaves room for the original vocals and the horn section. Daze Maxim's remix is more in the minimal direction. Despite the loose tempo of the original he brought a new definition and focus to the beat. He takes only a few snippets from the vocals but plays extensively with the modulation of the chord sounds. Mr. Statik himself marks the finish of the EP. His dub mix slowly rolls down the shutters. More

You open the door. You take a step into the cool fog of a new morning. It‘s the hour before sunrise and while somewhere the remains of last nights party beats are hovering in the air, the wind carries broken scraps of a singer/ songwriter piece through the haunting haze your way. The night made way for a new day. A day, when everything will be different. Change, transformation, developement- these have always been the motor behind Berlins electronica duo Dapayk& Padberg. On their 4th longplayer they might now have made the most uncompromising step during their 10 year carreer in wich they have become one of europes most fascinating Clubacts. Their magic formula? Looking for alternatives. With their longplayer „Smoke“ they bid a temporary farewell to the dancefloor. They are taking new paths, searching, trying new, never before seen patterns. These paths led the duo from the golden hills of the Provence to the dark autumnal lowlands at the border between scotland and england. The influence of those places is felt throughout the whole record with its atmospheric hybrid-tracks. After their last album „Sweet Nothings“ with its summery/ funky sound Dapayk& Padberg are now opening the door to a gloomy-melancholic world. While „Sweet Nothings“ was a balancing act between clubsound and Listening-Electronica the duo is now turning its back on the dancefloor, to take the listener on an accustic tour through their personal Amber Room. With their Chamber-Electro mix, containing characteristics of dubstep, catchy pop-elements, classical string arrangements and and a singer/songwriter-like intimacy, they achieve to create new sound-rooms. „The time we spent in scotland was the most creative and productive time we ever had,“ explaines Eva Padberg. „It was a wonderful experience to get up in the morning, have breakfast and after a long walk in the drizzling rain have nothing else to do then to sit in front of the log fire with a glass of whiskey in our hands and work on new tracks...“
Dapayk& Padberg‘s albums have always been snapshots of their current inspirational and emotional world- with „Smoke“ they have now created their most consistent and self contained collection of New Release Information songs to date. Against all expectations, sometimes even against their own nature as artists, letting go of all too familiar and comfortable structures. „Smoke“ is all about overcoming those lines between different genres, letting go, opening their mind to the new, „without worrying about fitting into a certain niche or having to compromise“, Eva adds. „When we had the structure for about two thirds of the album set up, we realized that we‘re heading into some dark waters. I think with this album we found ourselves more than ever and maybe even grew up a bit..“ Growing up in fast times, in wich Niklas Worgt produces numerous club projects for the insatiable nightlife and Eva Padberg counts as one fashions most sought after faces. „Smoke“ is their escape with which Dapayk& Padberg transport an atmosphere that possibly noone would have expected in its intensity. „For us it‘s always been about finding the cracks and about contrast“, Niklas adds. „It‘s about challenging the listener. For me there is nothing more boring than over-produced, clean computermusic.“ More

Tracklist 12”: A: Smoke (Sun & Smoke Version) B: Smoke (Album Version)
In September 2013 Mo's Ferry presents the fourth album “Smoke” by Dapayk & Padberg. After their last album „Sweet Nothings“ on Stil Vor Talent in 2012 with its summery-funky sound the duo is now opening the door to a gloomy-melancholic world. Dapayk & Padberg consciously turn their back on the dancefloor and abandon the formerly typical balancing act between club sound and listening electronica. Even though the A side of the present single is certainly made for the DJs, it shall be the sole exception to their current creative path. The down-tempo version of “Smoke” on the B side already reveals the new Dapayk & Padberg uneasy listening mixture. More

Tracklist 12”: A1: The Morning AfterA2: Stag Party B1: My Command
Darlyn's second appearance on Mo's Ferry meanders between techno, house and a little bit of funk. “The Morning After” is a minimalistic techno weapon, straight forward with no frills. With ”Stag Party” the Frenchman switches to a bouncing house groove, that feels powerful and self-confident. And finally, “My Command” creates a warm and deep mood, just perfect for the morning hours... and you never go wrong with a funky guitar lick. More

Tracklist 12”: A1: Wonderful Wonderfall A2: Wonderful Wonderfall (Dapayk Rmx) B1: Drifting Away B2: Drifting Away (Kenneth Scott Rmx)
Mo's Ferry presents a brand new super groovy house EP by [a]pendics.shuffle and Dilo. Two years ago their first release on the label was filed under their alter ego Cascabel Gentz. Now, after making the decision to reveal themselves to us, the new tracks feel even more personal and heart warming. On the A side is the driving but also kind of trippy "Wonderful Wonderfall". Dapayk's remix adds more definition to the track and moves it towards the techy department. The deep "Drifting Away" on the B side impresses with beautiful laid-back vocals embedded in a dreamy cloud of slowly spinning pads. Kenneth Scott partly waived the deepness to give room for extensive and creative bassline work. This is another wide range Mo's Ferry release. More

The last time Patrick Vano appeared on Mo's Ferry was a remix for Jedi Jet in the beginning of 2013. And the new year seems to be a changing point in his career. Before that Patrick released under his nickname Peddy, which is - to be honest - no longer appropriate. The latest productions show that he's grown out of his bedroom studio and local DJ residencies. It's time to take the next step. Under his moniker Patrick Vano he's got his first full-length album „The Other Side Of Me“ coming up in a few weeks. The current 4-tracker gives an insight into what's going to be expected. Dapayk puts his stamp on the EP with a distinctive remix. He's absolutely convinced that Patrick Vano will forge his own path. Mo's Ferry presents „House Unlimited“ by Mossa, a familiar face on the label since the early years. The vinyl is properly packed with four tracks. Besides the title track and a remix by Mike Shannon there's „Tom Bottom“ and „Pay Gun“ - two pieces of Frickelsound par excellence. The second one is a wax bonus track... no digital, vinyl only! But the digital release provides a bonus as well with another edit of „House Unlimited“. More

There is no place like home. That is exactly what Dapayk & Padberg had in mind after they released their new album at the beginning of the year. Now they reveal their next EP on Mo's Ferry. "Don't Sleep" lives up to its name. Due to this pushing track everyone jumps remote-controlled on the dance floor and the idea of falling asleep has no chance to enter your head. Plus, there's a cherry on the cake: a remix by Tiefschwarz.
