Sebastian has followed such an impressive path that it?s hard to believe that he?s only now releasing his long-awaited debut album. But the facts are clear: after several EPs (H.A.L, Smoking Kills, Ross Ross Ross, Motor), a record compiling his many remixes for Daft Punk, Kelis and the Kills among others (Sebastian Remixes) and a co production of the soundtrack for the film Steak with Sebastien Tellier and Mr Oizo, in which he also played one of the leading roles. Ever elusive, he unveiled yet another side of his creativity in composing a philharmonic score for Notre Jour Viendra, Romain Gavras? first film. One of the creators, along with Justice, of the Ed Banger sound, he is without a doubt the label?s most unusual figure. An iconoclast maverick he readily defies the rules to deliver a dirty and violent kind of techno that coughs and spits; music to his image: human and visceral. Super prolific and constantly effervescent this musician has managed, in the space of a few years, to redefine electronic music and is ready to astound everyone once again with TOTAL, a definitive and meteoric first album.

Some say he is the dark side of Ed Banger records, I know he likes it, and I must say I agree with that. But i also believe Sebastian created what people
are calling the Ed Banger sound, he is the twisted head of Ed Rec. Today, he is pushing it a little bit further, and he makes me a happy label boss.
"Embody" is not the boring "banger" you could expect from the man responsible for heavy weight club hits "Smoking kills?" "Walkman" and "Ross Ross Ross"
Do I need to remind youI signed him for darker sounds like "Head/off", "shoot" or "HAL" ? Did you know Daft Punk said he delivered the best remix they ever had for "Human after all" ? When I heard "Embody" for the first time I imagined Prince and Sebastian in Paris, sharing a glass of wine in a smoky basement. He surprised me and I hope you'll be touched too. I met Thomas Roussel in 2017 at a Pigalle fashion show in Paris. As always with Stéphane Ashpool, the designer of Pigalle,
casting is perfect and the clothes are modern and groundbreaking. But my eyes and ears were intrigued by this retro-futuristic instrument
next to me, the Cristal Baschet. French composer and conductor Thomas Roussel wrote the soundtrack of the show.
He add this magnificent instrument in his "not very classical" orchestra, this is what I immediately loved with him!
He invited us into his world of classical music with a fresh twist, simplicity and audacity.
At the same time I was scratching my head to find something different to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Ed Banger records.
For a long time I had this idea of mixing both electronic and classical music together. Exactly like my heroes Metallica did in 1999 with
the Symphonic orchestra of San Francisco! Thomas Roussel seems the perfect man for this crazy idea. We did Ed Banger 15 together
and we became friends.
Thomas Roussel grew up in Dijon, spent his days at the conservatory and his nights at L’An-Fer, one of the most respected
Techno club in France. Probably the reason why he ended up working with Jeff Mills, on two projects mixing Jeff’s 909 and a classical
orchestra.
By experimenting new ways of using an orchestra, by creating state-of-the-art scenography and producing more ambitious music
he quickly became the man in charge of everything "classica". The list of his collaborations is too long and will ruin this little introduction.
It could sounds like this : Chanel, Apple, Cartier, Kenzo, Nike, Dior…
Performing from Paris to Macau, from Monte Carlo to Dubai and from New York to Beijing!
In 2017 Thomas Roussel released his first album as Prequell with Universal Music.
A successful collaboration that really allows Thomas Roussel to become an artist.

Now I realize Radar Rider sounds like the perfect soundtrack of a disaster movie, in which record stores are closing, distributors are disappearing, a world without music, without life!
We didn't want this! Of course we'll release music from French producers, newcomers and put all our hearts into this new adventure. By accident Ed Banger records was born, 18 years ago. Mr Flash stopped by the office to play me some his beats. He was the French El-P to me, an MPC 3000 genius! I was blow away immediately, his music was talking to me.
I wanted this sound to be the beginning of something I will create with my friends.

For its 6th release on Ed Banger records BUSY P asked his longtime friend from Los Angeles MAYER HAWTHORNE to write a love song. While the world is going crazy, the only answer is love. The song was recorded between Threesome Studio in Paris and Mayer's own in L.A.

To complete this EP, we've asked UK's finest producers. The mysterious KDA who's topping UK's charts, delivers an infectious remix with mental drums and funky twist. Hot Chip's main man JOE GODDARD has been one of my favorite producer ever. It was about time to have him on board! RECKONWRONG dropped the hottest EP of 2015 on Young Turks sublabel Whities. His remix is pure magic. Exotic beats with techno flavours. Last but not least, we went experimental on this one!

This is the first FLOW MACHINES remix. The goal of Flow Machines is to research and develop Artificial Intelligence systems able to generate music autonomously or in collaboration with human artists.
