green trax vol. 2 is the second collection on trip of classic material from steve o'sullivan's green label, originally recorded between 1996 and 2005. these tracks capture steve's unique approach to minimal techno, heavily influenced by the innovative sounds of robert hood, jeff mills, and terrence dixon. recorded live in one take directly from the machines, this collection embodies raw, unpolished energy - a tribute to the spontaneity of studio experimentation. several of the tracks included were previously released on green and recontextualised for trip.

Soren got his start in boston in 2011 with the label supply records that he founded with john barera. since coming to berlin in 2013, he has released a string of ep's on his own labels supply, blank slate, ygrok / ssto as well as projects for the double r amongst others. these days he's also active as an analog photographer and printmaker in berlin's underground fetish scene. The release draws on contributions from established Trip members Kraviz, Population One and Nikita Zabelin, in addition to new artists added to its expending roster including K-Hand, Philipp Gorbachev, Vladimir Dubyshkin and Roma Zuckerman.As established with the label's first three releases, TRP004 will function as a soundtrack to a scenario and its accompanying artwork from Kraviz and Tombo. The title 'Ivan, Come On! Unlock The Box!' Cerrot is a Puerto Rican artist that currently resides in Barcelona. "Iteritax" is his solo debut trip after appearances on Nina Kraviz's stream-turned-compilation Hot Steel series. He recorded the 11-track EP in 2020 after falling into a flow that saw him create several tracks a day. The Plasma distortion unit pedal is at the core of the EP's raw, harsh and undone style. Repress! Some people are just not destined to have enough sleep. When you don't sleep enough the world appears to be a different place, compared to the way it is when the mind is fully rested. In such cases very different scenarios may occur. Starting with a dreamy melody of Roma Zuckerman's 'Sleep not found', which inspired the entire trip 008 album, and ending with a thirteen minute live recording by a_000, the side project of Alex Backdrop, the entire record has a dreamy and tripped out flow. trip 008 continues the tradition of gatefold double EPs as conceptual album. All tracks are selected around a particular story, a trip, and presented as a continuous sonic landscape.All tracks are structured in a way that they can be mixed one with another an endless amount of times making a continuous loop, a trip, that needs only end when the party stops. Kraviz works without release dates or deadlines, enabling her to achieve a certain sound bank to shape the story, unmasking the thoughts and unravelling like a dream. A1. She does not like computers and prefers to record her music live using hardware only. Side project by Bjarki-bbbbbb. Like any other normal Icelander, Bjarki really likes ice cream. In Iceland they are absolutely crazy about it.They walk the streets, ice cream in hand, even when its freezing cold outside. But even more than that Icelanders like Milkshakes with all sorts of added cookies and candies. Bjarki?s favourite is called Prince Polo after the name of a chocolate bar. He always believed Prins Polo was an Icelandic brand but a couple of months ago somebody proved him wrong. C1. Exos- dub jazz In Iceland Exos is a legend. Everybody knows him there. He?s been playing incredibly powerful and technically advanced techno sets since the late 90s and releasing delicious dub techno on Icelandic label Thule. Nina always appreciated his subtler, dubbier side, and this short recording a the continuation of it. C2. Maaayn Nidam - Justice for some This second live recording was a perfect fit for this album. Maayan has managed to create a particular mysterious night time dreamer here. Sound wise it?s even more unique. It took trip a few times to get the master right, because we wanted to keep the original breathing of the machine that has captured a seriously freaky vibe. Maayan has always been one of Nina?s favourite DJs as they share a similar attitude towards music. But after this tune she has also reserved a place in Nina?s collective of favourite producers. D1. A_000 This is a side project of Italian native Alessio Meneghello (Alan Backdrop) & Enrico Voltan. A beautiful 13-minute sonic journey.

Repress! Biogen’s a different kind of musician, always travelling the road less trodden. All law’s broken - no chords, no build-ups and no traditional drum patterns. Instead Biogen offers listener’s fragmented shredding’s, constant irritations, glitches, imbalance—and enough creative ideas to supply a whole battalion of electronic musicians. His works are full of contrast. Occasionally soft and mellow - like a cloud in trousers - Biogen would call that “sofa-trance”. Other times the music’s harsh and uncompromising with uncomfortable, irrational beats and glitches - “Weird-core” - a vast uncharted territory. Some might be tempted to connect the contrast and contradictions in his music to his long battle with manic-depressive disorder. But the disparity in his music is its strength, confounding and delighting the listener. It’s five years since Biogen passed away, but his influence is keenly felt among Icelandic electronic musicians.A fair amount of tracks on ‘Halogen Continues’ are previously unreleased, or self-released in very small amounts. The music moves from ‘Irrelevant Information’ where Biogen illuminates on “Stabastab" a mysterious international institute he dreamt up, originally on the ‘Mutilyn’ LP that he handmade and sold himself. It was an anti-LP, a non-linear album of drones, crackles and weirdness. ‘Bliss’ is from the 1996 double CD compilation entitled "Icelandic Dance Sampler” that he helped compile. ‘303 Ambient’ one of the recent works of the "Weird-core" era - also a regular event showcasing abstract electronica. He was the front man of the movement; regularly performing in Reykjavik with shows included lots of break-beats and 303’s.

Bjarki leads a pack of international artists who in the past few years have taken a hauntological approach to re-moulding the scents of breakbeat, rave, jungle, trance and IDM into sounds that are entirely their own. Already this year he began his own label bbbbbb with artistic sparring partner Johnny Chrome Silver, released under new alias Cucumb45, performed his new live show at clubs and festivals from Mutek ES and Peacock to Printworks, and recently announced a US tour for July. TRP015 finds Bjarki in typical, monstrous, floor slaying form with four trance leaning tracks that have proved an inspiration for Nina Kraviz’s DJ sets over the past year. Bjarki takes key aspects of trance and takes it for a headspin into the unknown - mangled percussion, disorienting voices, unravelling textural layers, sub aquatic bass frequencies and intense melodies. All make for a uniquely irreverent take on a much maligned genre that most of us secretly adore..

Repress! "A Broken Clock Is Right Twice A Day" EP is comprised of 7 tracks recorded in Kazan and Moscow during various sessions. Some of them go back as early as 2014 and everything is composed on two 8-track samplers. Alina Izolenta and Kamil Ea were born in the USSR, so the origin of the acronym PTU is embedded in everyday life of a country, which no longer exists. The duo spent their childhood in Siberia and on Volga, and their salad days in music schools and early clubs of their respective home cities. Back then accessing the Internet was only possible via pre-paid cards that came in envelopes. Music — via pirate CDs and endlessly slow mp3 downloads. Friendships would stem from copying music from hard drive to hard drive. The name PTU came to life in the middle of 00s, in a rented apartment, literally the last building in some street on the outskirts, over impromptu synth sessions with friends.

Roma Zuckerman is in fact the trippiest artist on the label and he is back with a new solo release 'stage of loyalty'. Nobody ever knows what is on his mind when recording his next 13 minute long composition at home in Krasnoyarsk but his signature slow mo murkiness and Roma-like mental groove are unmistakable. All of the tracks are selected around a particular story, a trip, and presented as a continuous sonic landscape. All of the tracks are structured in a way that they can be mixed one with another an endless amount of times making a continuous loop, a trip, that needs only end when the party stops. Kraviz works without release dates or deadlines, enabling her to achieve a certain sound bank to shape the story, unmasking the thoughts and unraveling like a dream.

Æ is the third part of Bjarki triptych of LPs to be released this year. Æ is a particularly Icelandic form, pronounced “I” in English; Bjarki thinks it just looks good. Here it is a selection of music that is at its core quite simple, with restrained instrumentation, made on hardware and features a selection of older works and the most recent produced just weeks ago. Bjarki is from Iceland. Born and raised. Despite the fact that Bjarki is known for making extremely powerful dance floor tracks he doesn’t seem to belong to any particular genre. Something this triptych of LPs demonstrates very well. His music is at times cinematic and there’s a story behind each track. Bjarki’s music always has something to do with him personally, but he’d rather the listener lose themselves in the music than pay much attention to the man behind them. Either on a record or to one of his ever evolving live sets.
