The air pulsed not only with the latest beats but also with a barely perceptible energy only the two of us knew. We hadn't simply flown in; we'd arrived with our fantastic "Diskmind" time-travel machine, an incredible invention, capable of effortlessly catapulting us through the centuries.
"It's unbelievable, isn't it?" I shouted over the bass, eyebrows raised. "A machine that lets us travel through all of history, and there isn't a single song that honors it! Not one!"
Scape One nodded vigorously, his gaze sweeping over the stage lights. "That's absurd! How can such a revolutionary invention remain unsung? It's almost an insult to music history itself."
We looked at each other, a silent understanding in our gazes. The mission was clear: The "Diskmind" needed its anthems. And who, if not us, who used and loved it, should create them?
And so, we decided to become the musical chroniclers of the "Diskmind," ready to tell the story of our time machine across four different eras...
For Synaptic Cliffs, it's an extraordinary honor to present these three Scape One variations of the original song 'Diskmind' (first released on The Electrifying Dojo, 2025). Top-notch Synthwave/Italosynthhorror on a sexy flexy, reworked by Aipd Q41/B47.
The two tracks were composed by pdqb while he worked for Silvio Berlusconi's Mediaset TV production company. The flexi was originally included in the November 1985 issue of the Italian Playboy Magazine (cover girl: Grace Jones) and is extremely sought after.
To recreate it as faithfully as possible, pdqb reconstructed the track from memory -
using a self-conducted cognitive interview, instructing AI exactly how it had to sound.
The original conditions no longer exist:
no broken synths, no absurdly long cables, no direct-to-tape chaos,

So every flaw, limitation and imperfection was carefully re-introduced - by design.

To recreate it as faithfully as possible, pdqb reconstructed the track from memory -
using a self-conducted cognitive interview, instructing AI exactly how it had to sound.
The original conditions no longer exist:
no broken synths, no absurdly long cables, no direct-to-tape chaos,
no instant flexi pressings.
So every flaw, limitation and imperfection was carefully re-introduced - by design.
The result sounds nothing like the original. Except that it does.

Three years after the release of Volume 1, Innershades returns to home turf with a second entry in his Heritage series. The New Beat territory that its predecessor tackled serves as the starting point for the A-side of Volume 2 as well. The glistening arpeggios and choir patches on "Mind State", alongside the unyielding kicks, alarm-like synth lines and plodding tempo of "System Breakdown," reaffirm how the genre's hallmarks smoothly align with the artist's own inclinations. The B-side draws from the broad spectrum of styles that emerged a bit later, in the beginning of the nineties, when it seemed the dance floor would move unimpeded between and bridge genres, its boundaries often not as firmly established. "Fuse Memory" nudges the pace forward, driven by the 909 and a staple hypnotic lead. When the drums come to a halt, a 303 emerges to flesh out the break. "Rhythm Composer" continues in a similar early techno vein, but pulls the track into outer space via its formant-heavy leads and Detroit-tinged sci-fi sweeps. On ALT023 Innershades appears in fine fettle, providing another batch of up-front club tracks that approach history as motion rather than memory, translating the past into forward momentum.

Recently, for example, he dreamed of Gunnar, who had witnessed the rise and fall of electronic dance music, which had once held simple-minded creatures in its thrall. The beats had a peculiar effect on them, drawing them into euphoric trances. But Gunnar, allergic to its hypnotic frequencies, stood apart, unaffected. However, eventually, in a hidden enclave in the highlands of Reykjavík, he met Dr. Amara El-Amin, a neuroscientist fascinated by his unique immunity. Together, they discovered that Gunnar's resistance was a gift, offering insights into human consciousness and the power of music. With this knowledge, Gunnar inspired a global movement celebrating frequencies that resonate...differently. Funkadelic were the most influential group to emerge from Detroit in the 1970s. Their early albums have cast a long shadow over everything that came afterwards in the city. It was music that understood the past but was firmly aiming towards the future and mixed soul, funk and rock into an almost unimaginable stew. Albums such as "Maggot Brain", "Free Your Mind And Your Ass Will Follow" and "Cosmic Slop" are regularly featured in all-time greatest lists.
From the techno pioneered by the likes of Carl Craig and Underground Resistance, to the garage rock revival spearheaded by the White Stripes and the Dirtbombs, all have paid homage to the Parliafunkadelicment Thang. This album is a tribute from some of the most important recording artists currently working in the city to these most influential of forefathers. The very finest talent now active in Detroit appear on the record, being given free rein to work on the multi-track tapes, to rework in any way they see fit. We have full-on remixes, futuristic creations using the original track as an inspiration, disco-fied re-edits and skeletal dubs.
Spearheaded by Brendan Gillen of Interdimensional Transmissions, the set features names working across the musical spectrum. There is an appearance by those most mysterious of techno pioneers Underground Resistance, and by Kenny Dixon Jr and his alter-ego Moodymann. The Dirtbombs throw down a frenetic take on 'Super Stupid', whilst disco re-edit expert Gaye Marvine adds his magic to 'Undisco Kidd'. Synaptic Cliffs is barely able to contain the excitement for the release of the 4-track EP "Maximalism" where pdqb collaborates with DJ Sotofett in the most effective way. pdqb's sleek and melancholic electro originals carry a sexy 1980s reminiscing vibe, not too unknown from classic US electro disco-styled pop music. They meet warehouse remixes from DJ Sotofett, known for his top-notch electro productions on Clone and Tresor, as well as funky breakbeat, afro-dub and all-things-house on his own labels Wania and Sex Tags Mania. The remix of pdqb's electrocognition-beauty 'Giallactrus' has heavier, almost p-funk styled electro beats, live scratching complementing the block party approach while retaining the vibe of the original. Elysiaamore, pdqb's sonic love letter to Tangerine Dream, gets a bit of melodic menace treatment by DJ Sotofett, turning it into an intensified breakbeat juxtaposition with Junglized B-Boy elements... again without taking away the energy from the original. The vinyl version was cut by DJ Sotofett with optimal club sonics at Manmade Mastering, Berlin.

pdqb - a true connoisseur of sound - was working in its sonic vessel, surrounded by a glowing armada of yet unknown synthesizers and modular gear. It had just completed two tracks, back-to-back, that were pure electronic poetry. These weren't for the main stage; they were for the intimate darkness of a listener's soul. Built on subtle, intricate rhythms, the tracks featured shimmering, melancholic melodies and an incredibly wide, detailed stereo field - the kind that demanded high-fidelity headphones. They were designed to function like a world within itself, introspective and beautiful. "Perfect," it murmured, "for the people who truly listen."
It quickly became clear that the two tracks were too potent to remain solely in the realm of the headphone experience. They needed to be shared, to be felt in a collective space, on a massive scale. "What if we take these beauties," pdqb thought, "and inflate them to the maximum?"
DJ Sotofett, an earthling known for his heavy-hitting, floor-shaking productions, immediately came to mind. pdqb knew the collaboration would bridge the gap between its refined, melancholy sensibility and the visceral energy of the dance floor.
It sent the core stems over with a simple message: "Need to blow this up. Maximum impact. Can you turn the headphone world into a stadium anthem?"
The response was instant and had a definitive, almost challenging tone: "Yeah. Now!"

PeteStrumentals follows Jay Dee’s Welcome 2 Detroit as the second offering in BBE’s producer spotlight “Beat Generation” series. If you approach Pete Rock’s joint as a song-oriented pop album, you may feel disappointed. Only two tracks (“Cake” and “Nothin’ Lesser – Jamie’s Mix”) feature MCs and the repetitive, consistently mid-tempo beats get somewhat monotonous by the end of most tracks. If you approach the album as a radical work of sonic architecture, you may also feel disappointed, since Rock’s relatively old-school sensibility isn’t likely to make you hear music in a completely new way. But if you approach PeteStrumentals on its own terms — as a laid-back collection of atmospheric beats ideal for late-night chilling or freestyling over — then you may enjoy Pete Rock’s soulful funk-jazz grooves, which are first rate for this type of recording. The deep bass and whispered “play back” vocal sample on “For the People,” jazzy piano loop on “Hip Hopcrisy,” big-band sax on “Smooth Sailing,” layered horns and vibes on “Pete’s Jazz,” and strings on “Give It to Y’all” (as well as the scratching that starts about two minutes into the song) all fit together to form a first-rate instrumental joint. The MC tracks with Rock Marciano, Divine, Godfree, and Laku are located near the end of the album; this makes them seem almost like bonus tracks, or perhaps a late attempt to ensure that the listener hasn’t nodded off, but they still fit fine in the overall flow of PeteStrumentals.

WRWTFWW Records is delighted to unleash the complete uncut soundtrack for Lucio Fulci & Bruno Mattei's cult zombie-ploitation gem Zombi 3 (aka Zombie Flesh Eaters 2 aka Sanguelia 2, 1988) available on 2 different collector's edition vinyls for the first time ever.
The Classic Edition comes in red is dead colored vinyl with a red Japanese Sanguelia 2 VHS obi and has a helicopter pictured on the back cover.
The Special Edition has the same songs as the Classic Edition PLUS bonus skits/interludes with DJ Blue Heart talking (taken from the movie) on the b-side and comes in green inferno colored vinyl with a green Japanese Sanguelia 2 VHS obi and DJ Blue Heart pictured on the back cover.
Both versions are housed in heavy old style Stoughton casebound tip-on jackets - pick your poison - get infected!
This future deluxe edition OOP classic is packed with menacing synths, ghoulish melodies, and contaminated anthems remastered directly from the rare original reels of maestro Stefano Mainetti which were found at an abandoned top secret research facility.
