Celebrating the interconnected strands of head-tripping hypnotic sounds, new age electronica and early/late 90s progressive house/trance, Rambal Cochet arrives on this EP, built to elevate the dance floors.

Since emerging in the scene, Rambal Cochet has ably demonstrated his instinct for different approaches, whether exploring expansive sonic palettes or holding down stages where he has performed. Throughout his career, this DJ, producer and versatil music curator, turned his capable hand into a truly immersive listening experience.

Dolphin’s Dance is an uplifting music journey, with a flavour of the good old prog sound and a dreamy atmosphere. The narrative flow in Twisted Reality and Virtual Nightmare use contrasting ecosystems to glide through distinctive spaces, unfolding with darker vibes infused with style sounds, as in Yello’s 90’s album “Pocket Universe”. At times the effect is nostalgic, calling to mind pulsating rhythms, bass lines and hypnotic melodies.

A familiar face in space·lab’s catalogue, Rambal Cochet’s deep-diving new EP, Mixed Reality, marks the occasion of the label’s eighth release with four tracks traversing the darker edges of psy-prog. Opening track, ‘Talpa Lionis’, mines the spiralling depths of a psychedelic abyss, driven by a dark, tunnelling bassline reminiscent of mid-90s psy trance. Titular track, ‘Mixed Reality’, is tonally brighter. Brimming with buoyant, prog energy, its liquefied melody submerges the track’s percussion in a glowing, ambrosial fluid. On the B side, ‘Sequence 2000’ grows from the ground up. A rippling, cosmic-hued melody traces ever wider reaches, circling the track’s drums as they rise from deep below ground-level. Skittering high-ends flutter organically through the track’s length, lulling us into a state of all-enveloping hypnosis. To close, ‘Aura 900’ unfolds onto expansive, new-age atmospheres. Delicately sinking into a delectable, chugging pace, its patient speed creates a sense of spaciousness, leaving room for the track’s melody to breathe. After a string of successful reissues over the past years, the Berlin label is launching a new sub label, Crystal Ceremony, which will release music from stylistically aligned contemporary artists.
The first release features four dance-floor cuts from the Ukrainian production power house Rambal Cochet. Based in Southern Russia since 2021, he’s been honing his production skills for over ten years across a number of aliases and styles. Since the occupation of Ukraine last year he’s continued to push his artistic vision and remain connected with the world’s music community despite being physically isolated. Bypassing Russian censorship and contributing to a number of compilations supporting Ukrainian charities as well as releasing two stand out EPs on Italy’s Spazio Tempo and Bristol based Space Lab. This latest release further solidifies his place as one of electronic music’s most consistent producers.

Following his appearance on Soil Records’ second anniversary commemorative album, Rambal Cochet earned himself a special place on the label. His style makes him unique, the repeated tonal use of the harmonic minor scale is perhaps the most characteristic of this artist, with a musicality in his works that recall an early stage of Goa, situated long before moving to the force and energy of psy – trance.

His return this time is solo and he does it starring in the tenth reference on vinyl with UFO Researcher, an EP that he releases with 3 original tracks and 2 versions by Cute Heels and Pablo Bozzi. The homonymous track opens side A with an imposing bass and a rhythm that doubles its tempo as if it were IDM, but this is just the foundation of a much more complex sounding structure in which the melodies are crossed by different ranges of frequencies. . Paco Resist is the second track on side A, a cut with the standardized metric of techno but with a great groove originating from the bass line and with arpeggiated melodic elements. The Cute Heels version is more direct than the original track, its rhythm is more marked, direct and less expansive.

Side B opens with Tatra Tropicana, a track with a different sound from the rest, set in a scenario more typical of Synthwave and although this time the musicality is simpler because there are few tonal variations, Rambal Cochet’s predilection for the minor hues. The version of Tatra Tropicana by Pablo Bozzi closes the EP. the remix is ??much more energetic and its sound variations take on an acid tinge.

SPAZIOTEMPO’s sixth chapter marks the debut of the Swiss artist Matthew Dexter.

Matthew delivers a full excursus throughout contemporary beats, modern trance and underground anthems.

Opening the EP is Horizonte, an acid-trance cut with a twist of Goa. Any elements are wisely mixed up creating a perfect contemporary club track. The title track Centroterra is a mélange of dark and introspective atmosphere, with a meditative / tribalist vibes and broken beats supporting the tension.

The B side starts with Variant Intelligence, a 4/4 cut with a sci-fi mood and prog build up that takes You back on a clubby mood… Can you recall that?

The closing track Everything Matters brings has a robotic retro feeling with breaks and some melancholy acid vibes to fold it up perfectly. The evolution is long and delicate, the layers are intricated but distinct, making the listeners dive into a wide array of emotions.

The EP kicks off with the elecronica mood of XTC, followed by a classic 4/4 Corp action track Neurotic.
The B side opening is a trip on the artist's underworld, a techno banger which is clearly Berlin infused. The closing track Re-Active perfectly mesh some qwerky acid bassline from the nineties and proper rhythms to shake any dancefloor.
