Ruffy's back with a new four track EP Casita Más Alta and it's a love letter to Ibiza -
as he takes us on an alternative tour of his favourite parts of the pine-covered
island.
The title track opens slowly, spaced out with motifs and pads washing in like an
incoming tide, before charging headlong to the beach with a thumping kick and
distorted keyboard solo. In contrast, we get a more sundown feel with Cala Vedella,
soaking up the forest breeze and sounding like The Art of Noise but fed through a
modulator and left to float in the iciest pitcher of 7Up.
Meanwhile, the rolling congas and percussive synths of Las Cicadas take us deep
into tribal territory, Lost Woods style. The EP closes out with Niu Blau, built on
beautifully optimistic choir pads and steel pan sounds, and the evening could just
go on forever, especially if you've taken any of those power ups. It might be an
homage to Ibiza and the Balearics, but seen through the Ruf Dug prism, there's
always something new to discover.

We are happy to announce that Ruf Dug, the Mancunian record producer, radio host, and self-professed video game freak is the latest artist to climb aboard the Pinchy train.
Well known for his kaleidoscopic approach both in the DJ booth and in the studio, Ruf Dug has touched on genres as diverse as street soul, vaporwave, and acid house over the years. He has released material on labels such as Rhythm Section, Klasse Wrecks, and his own Moodymann approved Ruf Kutz.
For his Pinchy & friends’ debut (there's a 6-song EP in the works as well) the NTS radio host distils some of these aforementioned influences and presents a two-track 12" that explores dub techno, Chicago acid, and atmospheric balearica.
Built around a solid, techy thud, "Thru The Night!" rides seismic bass waves and reverb-laden stabs to more tropical climes, thanks to gusts of echoed flutes and a catchy, 8-bit vocal hook.
On the flip, "I Love You" takes a minor-key synth riff and sends it off to music school for some late-night nasty dance floor bliss.

Manchester producer, DJ and dancefloor spirit guide Ruf Dug gets fruity on his Korg DW8000, for this homage to Manctalo pioneers Red Laser Disco who have revitalised the Italo sound over the last decade. Given that Ruffy lives on the same street as Red Laser head honcho “Il Bosco” it’s unsurprising that his latest release is heavily influenced by his noisy neighbour’s antics.
Manctalo Beach has gone through several versions over the years to arrive, like a chilled Bianco, at the crisp beauty you hear today. Packed with chunky bass arpeggios, pixelated pitch-bent melodies and freeze-frame drum fills, the A-side conjures images of coastline sunsets and waterski waves. Welcome to the Crystal Maze. Your host Ruf Dug is here to guide you through this mysterious landscape.
Firstly, you arrive at the 'Future Zone’. You tap the passcode into the keypad. Success! The sound of Balearic Trance awaits you. Computer code scrolls past the interface as your mental state is set to Hedonistic Bliss. A race through space is the place.
No time to ponder though, as you are bundled onto to the next stage, a humid tropical haunt they call 'Aztec Zone’. Some sort of supernatural presence tails you as reverberating wails call out from the deep. Focus, focus. Secure the crystal, flip the disc and proceed to the other side.
'Industrial Zone' quickens your heart rate. Metal sparks, machines clash and synths ping about. You feel revitalised and assured in your chances of progress. Suddenly you are transported to a dark room with what appears to be a hologram of Ruf Dug presenting you with a crystal. Do you accept? Your hand reaches out but your feet give way. Crumbs – trap door.
You land with a crunch in the concluding 'Medieval Zone’, with a pair of sandals curiously strapped to your soles. With a quick sip of mead you are beckoned by the sound of a distant chime. Cue the Crystal Dome and roll end credits. All calm. The trip has come to an end but Ruf Dug is nowhere to be seen.
What has just happened? Was it at all real? Only one way to be sure. Return to the edge of NBD009 and the journey through the Crystal Maze.

The international jet-set raconteur lands on the mythical White Isle with such bravado he must have the "Grandi Palle !!" and it is testifiable that Harri is not without merit.
The song comes in vocal and cheeky instrumental version for the truly adventurous. A simple 80's break beat, claps, groovy bass and then the magic begins. The lyrics are what you make of them. Tongue firmly in cheek.
All is forgiven though when the record is so catchy and cool. You can feel the sand under your toes, the sound of the waves calling, the blue, blue sky overhead.

The Duca Bianco label swerves its usual various artists' format to allow CW - who has appeared on those before - to step up with his own solo EP. He is a mysterious artist but is well known for his immersive record collection and legendary sets on the London scene. He is one-third of the Beauty & The Beat party and brings his unique twists of Afro and soul to this quartet of tunes. 'Karambolage' opens up with lots of big horns and noodling string sounds over a ramshackle beat then things take a cosmic turn on the rather more psychedelic 'Six Times Seven' with its Nippon-koku polyriddims, while 'Ou Ka Jis Fe Kole' is a party starter with a Zouk dub edge and 'Nzimbab' is built on a low slung and swaggering rhythm.

This one finds four guest producers all with their finest studio tools sharpened and ready for action. Two of the artists are well known but use new alias - one is Israeli synth and psyche wizards Red Axes who work their magic as Der Sexa on 'Gabi Plane' and another is Beauty & The Beat party man Cedric Woo as CW. He gets nice and twisted here while the other two cuts - one from Italo king Franz Scala who builds slow new wave funk, and one from Manchester's renowned edit kings Talking Drums who offer some lovely leftfield madness on 'DMNB', all make for crucial listening.

Jonny 5 is known for his superlative edits as well as heading up the Bahnsteig 23 label and here he returns from time out becoming a father to kick off this new one from Duca Bianco. 'Joy riding' is loopy disco-post-punk for a peak-time trip. Multi Culti man Dreems then brings the Afro party vibes with his 'Bususua' which is packed with dub fx and steeped in fun. Miserymix then throws in his Italo-licked post-disco and punk sounds on 'Adjust Your Love' before a big finale by Black Bones. He offers deep and dubby house that has been a secret edit for a while but finally gets unveiled here to great effect as it worms its way into your brain.

Our very first release was a beautiful gem from Red Astaire titled 'Follow Me' - A track that defined GAMM's identity and helped pave the way for everything we've achieved since. Now, 23 years later, GAMM has reached its landmark 200th release.
To celebrate this anniversary and honour our dear friend Fredrik Lager (aka Red Astaire), who sadly and unexpectedly passed away three years ago, we are re-releasing 'Follow Me' alongside remixes from some of our favourite producers. The remixes will be released across three separate 7-inch EPs featuring Soul Supreme, DJ Spinna, Ukokos, and Kampinos.
On the first EP, Amsterdam-based keyboardist and producer Soul Supreme delivers a masterful cover version featuring live instrumentation, programmed beats, and fresh vocals. It is a beautiful tribute that honours the original while evolving the track from its sample-based roots into a full-scale production. The EP features two takes: a Jazz-Funk infused original and a Samba/Bossa-inspired version ('Follow My Samba').

Fusion unfolds in Simply Nothing. Analogue synths intertwine with exquisitely programmed percussion and George Humes' chorus-drenched, draped in a veil of spectral vocals by Sarah-May Brown. The result is a retro-futuristic sonic whirlpool that is as memorable as it is delicate.

Rather than referencing the past, the EP treats it as a living language. The longform, ritualistic percussion of early cosmic dance culture meets the hypnotic motorik pulse of krautrock and the more structured, sample-driven tribalism that followed in later decades. What ties it all together is a deep sense of atmosphere and
intention: music that feels physical, emotional and quietly transportive.

Dhol Parade opens the journey like a slow-burning procession, drums circling and expanding as if guiding the listener into another space. With Icari the perspective lifts, melodic lines drifting and tilting, constantly searching for balance between gravity and flight. Huldufolk pulls everything back into a shadowy, nocturnal zone, where textures feel half-real, half-imagined.
Finally, Viaggio Tascabile loses the record in a quietly reflective way, a compact voyage that sums up the EP’s philosophy: small in scale, deep in meaning. Flusso Uno is not about nostalgia or revivalism. It is about taking the spirit of cosmic culture and letting it breathe in the present, where storytelling, dancefloor

Mental Groove Records is thrilled to announce the official vinyl release of the sought-after ambient house / minimal techno e.p. by japanese producer Asian Psilocybe Foundation (APF). Originally pressed on a limited run of 25 handcrafted white label and available only at Disk Union Tokyo where all copies sold out within a minute. Now it's available to the widest audience. APF had raised much attention from the Detroit techno scene since he started producing music. He got remixed by Jon Dixon of Underground Resistance's Timeline on his 1st e.p. "Cosmic Dance" that was released on New Heroes Records, the label of legendary producer Orlando Voorn (Fix, Playboy). APF is an eccentric Japanese musician who on this e.p. achieve to translates into sounds the sensations he experienced during his stays in the Doshi forest (Ch?bu region of Japan). With finesse and elegance his music balances between the real and the surreal, using layers of unprocessed field recordings materials and traditional instruments, creating meditative soundscapes at the emergence of ambient and trance over minimal beats for an unique final rendered. Environmental grooves anyone? APF is also part of the insane Optimist monday parties at the (Rey Audio equipped) club AIR in Tokyo where he performs live alongside his dj team Tobi & Jonson. Mental Groove Records is thrilled to announce the official vinyl release of the sought-after ambient house / minimal techno e.p. by japanese producer Asian Psilocybe Foundation (APF). Originally pressed on a limited run of 25 handcrafted white label and available only at Disk Union Tokyo where all copies sold out within a minute. Now it's available to the widest audience. APF had raised much attention from the Detroit techno scene since he started producing music. He got remixed by Jon Dixon of Underground Resistance's Timeline on his 1st e.p. "Cosmic Dance" that was released on New Heroes Records, the label of legendary producer Orlando Voorn (Fix, Playboy). APF is an eccentric Japanese musician who on this e.p. achieve to translates into sounds the sensations he experienced during his stays in the Doshi forest (Ch?bu region of Japan). With finesse and elegance his music balances between the real and the surreal, using layers of unprocessed field recordings materials and traditional instruments, creating meditative soundscapes at the emergence of ambient and trance over minimal beats for an unique final rendered. Environmental grooves anyone? APF is also part of the insane Optimist monday parties at the (Rey Audio equipped) club AIR in Tokyo where he performs live alongside his dj team Tobi & Jonson.
