Sanza Mibale Ya Bo Pemi ft. Felix Ngindu - Bosq's Boogie Bounce Dub
Flash Atkins has pulled together a crack team of musicians for Sanza Mibale Ya Bo Pemi.
It is a tribute to the golden age of Afro-Disco, when the sounds of 70's New York found their way to the continent and fused with local musical styles and rhythms.
Felix Ngindu sings in his native Lingala language from the DRC over a locked bass, congas, keys, percussion, rhythm guitar and a brass section from Haggis Horn's Atholl Ransome and Malcolm Strachan.
Funk, disco, soul and jazz all blend for a peak time jam.
The Flash Dub strips things back to the rhythm section for heads down, dubby action and a tracky take that still packs a dance floor punch.
The incomparable Bosq steps up for remix duties and knocks it out of the park. Layered drums and percussion give things a more Latin swing before the beats break, piano enters the fray, and it's a tropical-funk party-starter all the way. The dub does the beat thing, rocking a hard groove for the dancers.
Hands in the air? F**ck yeah!
LTD Edition in individually sprayed sleeves !

Flash Atkins hits hard with the second 12" to be taken from his critically acclaimed "The Life and Times" album on Paper Recordings. This time he pulls in three of the world's best producers of underground future disco and all of them step up the plate to score a bullseye with their first throw. First up The Emperor Machine has taken Summer of Love to analogue heaven with arps, heavily treated vocals, electro bass and wacked out beats. The track's stripped back dynamics keep changing as its deep drug chug rocks out for over 10 sublime proto-disco minutes. Man of the moment Fila Brazilia's Steve Cobby is enjoying a renaissance after two albums that have ruled 2014 / 15. On Forbidden Flesh he takes Crazy P's Danielle Moore's vocals and lays them over a soulful techy track that will fit any after dark occasion with devastating results. And it's got loads of cowbell. After the veterans it's time for a young gun to nail his colours to the mast. Iceland's B.G.Baarregaard has been one to watch and his blend of good time disco has been lining him up as Todd Terje's heir apparent.
This remix is peak-time nu-disco that wears it's musicality lightly and sacrifices nothing for sheer playability. Overall, a 12" that takes the Flash Atkins originals and breathes new life in to them for three cuts that will smash anything they are thrown at.

flash atkins - "Drug Empire"
Deep disco warrior The Revenge turns in an epic hypnotic mix of slow burning house nailed down by analogue bass and acid. Using a filtered vocal it builds slowly as the bottom end is tweeked towards a mesmeric journey through minimal wigged out disco. Sleazy McQueen and Romano Arcaini turn in a disco inflected house mix with congas, spaces out synths and enough dynamics to keep any dancefloor bubbling. It builds with added percussion and a filtered pad before the lead hits the break and the track comes back in with even more wallop. Drug Empire is an original off the album and has had support from the likes of Rune Lindbaek, Crazy P's Hot Toddy and Horse Meat Disco. Said to be inspired by Theo Parrish's productions it's a delicious slice of bass driven deep disco with a nod to the looser end of Detroit and Chicago. It's all about the fully locked in three note analogue Moog bass which holds down the grooved out drums before breaking to jazzy Rhodes at the end. One for the heads.

The Italian disco masters are back with four heavy funk-fuelled vinyl cuts. Cabasa has off-kilter bass, Rhodes, dirty drums and grainy samples knitted together in to a groove heavy enough to get your Gran going. Hypnotic, trippy and disco at its finest.
Congo Club goes full cowbell and 80's drums. A chanted vocal wonks out over a Rhodes that weaves all kind of magic, then the lead drops and critical mass is reached.
The title track cracks on at a pace with synth strings, flanging bass, distorted drums and keys tying it all together. Latin percussion is dropped over a a sung sample and the swing is on.
Summer of Sam takes a more soulful diversion but keeps a foot firmly in the disco camp. The track builds with spacey atmospherics in to a track that will work in any situation.

Paper Recordings continue their journey back to plastic with another vinyl release once again proving why they remain one of UK?s best loved labels.. Jamie L is a mysterious figure of undisclosed origin and history who fits in to the Moodymann / Theo Parrish mold of heavy future disco; which his new production ?(What We Saw) In The Burg? nails. It?s a heavy leftfield groove laid over broken house beats with a filtered bass, samples and leftfield vibe. The Detroit pad creeps up to the break and filters in and out as the track works it?s way through for locked down dance floor business. Next up, Havana Candy breaks out the analogue and takes things deeper and techier. With a rolling bass and tweaking acid line, it cuts to a Rhodes before filtering down and riding back to the heads down groove. Cottam steps up for Paper for the first time and demonstrates what all the fuss is about with a very special mix. Clocking in at 9.41 it?s deep, tough soulful house that crosses the 4/4 divide from techno to disco and deep house to soul.

Paper Recordings reflects on its second coming with a superb double disc compilation of its hottest output to date with CD1 delivering its finest moments released since its return and CD2 showcasing totally unreleased material from its family of artists including Proviant Audio, Ralph Myerz, Sleazy McQueen, 2 Billion Beats and Flash Atkins.
After a break of around 5 years Paper Recordings came back into the public consciousness in 2009 with a couple of reissues from its back catalogue. One of those reissues featured Mudd's wonderful re-interpretation of Keyboy's 'Viva Blue'; a track that manages to fuse deep house & disco influences with a beautifully twisted Balearic air. Looking back on the labels output since then, those very same qualities seem to permeate each and every release. Seldom these days do record labels manage to move beyond transient trends to build a signature sound that's familiar yet remains challenging and surprising for the listener: 'Paper Cuts #1' perfectly captures that signature sound through the diverse yet cohesive sounds of its stellar artist line up.
As you go through this fantastically diverse collection, there's nothing formulaic to be found, yet each and every track shares an attitude, an approach to music making that links the artists through a shared musical genealogy. From the Scandinavian future funk of Proviant Audio to the delectable disco of Flash Atkins or the organic house sounds of Daco there is a rich depth to the recordings on offer here that is a testament both the quality of the producers involved and the musical nouse of Paper's label team. Alongside label favorites such as the aforementioned Proviant Audio, Flash Atkins & Daco are relative new additions to the family such as The Treatment and Sleazy McQueen, whilst on the remix front there are offering from the likes of Atjazz, Yam Who? and Brennan Green. As something of a bonus the album also delivers the previously unreleased 'Dicky Trisco Soft Piano re-Rub' of Sleazy McQueen's 'We Need to Reconnect', which as the title suggests, is a superb piano infused disco house workout that really hits the mark.
This special edition CD includes an exclusive web address printed on inside cover which gives access to a download area where each person will be able to claim unreleased music remixed by artists such as Jay Shepherd / Max Essa. Leftside Wobble has exclusively written the sleeve notes for this release.

A surefire Salsoul classic and comfortably one of the label's finest moments, the self-titled LP from The Strangers was originally released in that golden year of 1983 and is one of the greatest albums of the post-disco era. It’s one of Be With's favourite ever LPs and it's a complete honour to be giving it our reissue treatment.
Still strangely overlooked but not for much longer, The Strangers contains flawless tracks with truly top tier production and includes the eternal Paradise Garage favourite "Step Out of My Dream"
Are they Strangers to us? Well, no, they shouldn't be. The Strangers were a US electronic-funk studio concept group comprising Edward "Tree" Moore, Howard King and Hubert Eaves III, all key members of Mtume and Gary Bartz NTU Troop and, in the case of Eaves, one half of D-Train.
Now I KNOW you're gonna dig this!
We kick off with the dope electro-funk of "Wanna Take Your Body" which features Gary Bartz on sax (!) and becomes more sensational and irresistible the longer it plays. The wonky super-bomb "Let Me Take You Home" has a punk-funk, post-Prince feel, driving and delicate all at the same time while "Show Me How You Like It" is pure FUNK, the groove just pure fire.
Side B is perfection. It kicks off with the NTS favourite "Love Rescue", a track so slick it positively SLAPS out the gate and, while it bangs throughout, the vocals and melodies elevate this to the status of EMOTIONAL POP.
Next up, "Step Out Of My Dream" swaggers forth, the undisputed masterpiece that was huge with the London DJs and UK Soul fraternity; it's not hard to see why. It's a gliding, smooth, soulful piece of once-in-a-lifetime magic.
The breezy "It's Too Late" is a perfect slow jam before this remarkable set is rounded out with the sickest proto-acid synth-drizzled jam, "Stimulation"; a perfect slab of 80s funk and a strutting vocoder-laced funk workout.
Meticulously remastered and cut by both Simon Francis and Cicely Balston at Abbey Road respectively, it has been pressed to the highest possibly quality at Record Industry in Holland.

Territory: Worldwide no exceptions
2026 repress, 140g vinyl, remastered, double LP with the original LP along with a second record of 14 rare tracks
Sweet And Nice is the vital debut album from Jamaica’s undisputed first lady of song Marica Griffiths. It’s reggae at its most soulful. Slinking through a tight ten tracks of R&B and pop-sourced material, it became an instant best seller. 45 years after its initial release the LP is available again on vinyl, now as a double LP, with an extra record collecting 14 rare tracks.
Sweet And Nice has appeared over the years with a revised running order and under different titles. But the original’s opening sequence of loping soul is legendary, even beyond reggae circles. These songs are now returned to how they were presented on that first Jamaican release, and under their intended album title. Be With doesn’t mess with magic.
Marcia’s version of “Here I Am (Come and Take Me)” has long been lusted after, played by genre-hopping selectors to snapping necks for decades now. It’s followed by the sophisticated, rollicking wah-wah funk of “Everything I Own” and the slice of smooth lovers soul par excellence that is “Green Grasshopper” and her ace, lilting Neil Diamond cover “Play Me”.
The thundering, humid funk of “Children At Play” “sounds uncannily like a precursor of Massive Attack”, as FACT Mag astutely noted when they put Sweet And Nice at number 16 in their list of the 100 best albums of the 1970s. Otherworldly, moody and essential.
Side two keeps the fire burning. “Sweet, Bitter Love” should leave you swooning, and is also one of the album’s alternate titles. Curtis Mayfield’s already-eternal “Gypsy Man” is up next, recast as proto-lovers rock.
“There’s No Me Without You” is elevated to canonical status by the majestic, forlorn horns of the Federal Soul Givers and Marcia’s heartbreaking delivery. And if this doesn’t get you then surely the next track will: arguably the definitive version of Ewan MacColl’s “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face”. Yes, seriously.
“I Just Don’t Want To Be Lonely” re-takes its rightful place at the end of the LP’s second side… but we couldn’t leave it at that. So we added an entire second record of rare material recorded around the same time as Sweet And Nice, much of it unavailable since it was originally released. Some of these songs have only ever been found on now unattainable 7" singles and no, rarity doesn’t always correspond with quality, but in this case we’re talking about some seriously jaw-dropping music.
Amongst 14 extra tracks you’ll find the exquisite late-60s singles “Melody Life” and “Mark My Word” which, along with the sumptuous reading of “Band Of Gold”, are now £100 records, if you can find them! Just sayin’. There‘s also a fantastic version of “The First Cut Is the Deepest” and an alternate take of “Play Me” with producer Lloyd Charmers adding his own vocals.
Everything’s been remastered of course, including the original LP, so Sweet And Nice now sounds even sweeter, and even nicer.

The Bam Jam Band - Would You Believe In Me
On their third seven-inch release, the band dares to reimagine a true soul classic — Jon Lucien’s timeless masterpiece “Would You Believe in Me” — with an irresistible disco twist.
This stunning double-sider delivers two distinct moods built on the same hypnotic backing track.
On the A-side, the ever-soulful Kiko, one of Portuguese finest jazz voices, breathes new life into Lucien’s original lyrics with heartfelt emotion and silky smooth delivery.
Flip it over and discover the B-side, a fresh Portuguese reinterpretation, passionately performed by Brazilian-born powerhouse Denize Machado from the ultra-militant Bamba Social.
With “Would You Believe in Me,” The Bam Jam Band bridges eras, continents, and grooves — paying homage to 70s soul while keeping the dancefloor burning.
A heartfelt tribute. A daring remake. A must-have for every modern soul lover.

Mr. K Edits - Let The Sunshine In (Edit By Mr. K)
2
Mr. K Edits - 1,2,3 (Mr. K Extension Of Walter Gibbons Melting Pot Acetate)
Following up the big room belters on Pablo and Shoey 'Raw Human Emotion' EP was going to be quite the task for those lovable Dublin disco messers at Fatty Fatty Phonographics, so they handed the reins over to one of the true maestros of the artform - NYC legend Mr. K.
The A-side is a propulsive extension of 'Let The Sunshine In', featuring ecstatic, gospel-shouting breakdowns. Dropped at the right moment, this is one of those tunes that brings everyone together with that look on their face, the hairs on the back of the neck standing up, arms instinctively flying toward the sky, disco fingers aloft...Excuse us, we just have something in our eye here...
Flip it over for a serious one for the heads...A few years ago Mr. K put out '1,2,3' on a 7-inch on the aptly named Most Excellent label. It was an edit of a roaring clav-funk number from the acetate collection of the legendary 'DJ's DJ' Walter Gibbons.
The Fatty folk persuaded him to revisit it, and he did a magical job of extending it out across the full 12 inches of vinyl, just the way the good Lord intended. 2 sides of utter dancefloor devastation here, be quick!

DJ Fett Burger & Stiletti-Ana - Werkmaister Outro
On UFO 23 DJ Fett Burger and Stiletti Ana team up once again.
Their third release together after 2013´s Seriously Goodbye and their 2028 album 358 Men on Freakout Cult. Here the duo is back again with the esoteric mix of disco, dubbed out new age house, with a twist of balearic ambient.
These cut's originally produced in 2018, supposed to be a quick follow up to their 358 Men album. But time wanted it different. Soundwise we are still in the vein of those days, with the strong combination of live drums, warm analog synth driven melodies, vintage studio effects, with a spaced out and esoteric soundscape. A combination of melodic dream landscape, dubby deepness, and a driving disco energy.
With two long long epic dream cuts on each side, complimented with a drum bonus and an ambient outro. A danceable and spiritual balearic disco workout!
