Originally released in 2020, GODTET III marked the culmination of an intensive three-year period of playing, recording, and evolving. Recorded entirely through open improvisation, without samples, compositions or predefined cues, the album captures a band deeply attuned — performing without a net, yet with total trust. The result is a bold and meditative document of a group crystallising its identity in real time. If GODTET I was an explosive coming-together and II was a fusion of samples and live band, then III is the return to origin: stripped back to pure instinct, refined through experience. It's the clearest expression yet of what the GODTET sound had become — at least, in that moment. The group features some of the most distinct players from the new generation of Australian music, drawing from diverse lineages: a head priest of the Cuban Ifá tradition, the stepson of one of Australia's greatest funk musicians, a drummer regarded among the country's most important contemporary players, and a deeply expressive pianist from New Zealand. Together, under Godriguez's direction, they form something greater than the sum of their parts. With GODTET, the studio becomes an extension of the stage: live, immediate, and unconcerned with genre. From ambient soundscapes and devotional jazz to swirling psychedelia and beat-driven exploration, GODTET III closes the chapter on the project's foundational era — while hinting at where it might go next.

After releasing their aptly titled first three LPs (I, II & III) GODTET concluded theirtriptych with the idea of a 'clean slate'. To allow the universe of GODTET to growthe band hit reset somewhat. Returning to their original conception of the band;Hitting record in the studio without preconceived thought or discussion on theoutcome.After recording Meditations GODTET were asked to pay homage to the great JohnColtrane at The Sydney Opera House during their lockdown web series in 2020. Tocelebrate the 50 year anniversary of 'Giant Steps' GODTET reimagined the seminalbody of work into one long set. The band collaborated with local artists Chris Cooper& Sam Whickham who designed the audio visual aspect of the show. And after anastounding reception, decided to utilise the two artists to build upon Meditations.The 'Suite' EP (which features on the B side of 'Meditations') is the amalgamation of the earlier GODTET LP sounds and Godriguez's produced albums, through-composed as a 15 minute suite. To be true to the long-form, through-composed piece, the band recorded this release live; one take, no over-dubs and straight totape much like the 'Meditations' sessions, but composed.The cathartic opening of 'Suite' awakens the gods with a sombre Welsh men's choir.Their vibrato ripples across the ocean as the second movement lands the listener inthe Solomon Islands where bamboo sticks are tapped against rock. As the bandnods to 'Struck Bamboo Pipes' from their last LP. Dub Horns blaze out of thecalming movements, fractured polyrhythmic, post-dub-step energy takes hold. 'Thesounds bleed into a neighbouring Trinidadian street festival as they march acrossthe Atlantic. The end is nigh, Moroccan percussion and vocals dance as Godriguez'sroots shine bright. What it all a dream? A Ghanian 'Women's Choir' lulls backconsciousness. The 5-piece bids us farewell, sounds of the forked harp and Baoulemen singing is all that remains. And just like that, the trip is over.

The A-side, “Adan no Umibe” (Adan’s Seashore), opens with a soft, relaxed vocal delivery reminiscent of Haruomi Hosono’s solo work, floating over a gentle groove of nylon guitars and spacious synths. It captures the essence of a quiet shore, where melodies ebb and flow like waves against the sand, infused with the scent of Okinawa.

The title track, “Correspondances,” embraces an airy, ambient minimalism. Whispered vocals glide over sparse beats, floating basslines, and interwoven birdsong—blurring the lines between nature and sound.

Closing the record, “Koe o Kikasete” (Hear Me Your Voice) introduces a subtle rhythmic pulse, with its soft vocal refrain weaving through a beautiful chord progression, layered with nylon guitar and delicate electronic textures. The birdsong theme resurfaces here, echoing the lyrics and enhancing the immersive, weightless atmosphere.

While rooted in the warmth of vintage Japanese pop experimentalism, Correspondances carries CHO CO PA CO CHO CO QUIN QUIN’s sound into new, refined territory.

For the first time in full, a unique anthology of Hungarian TV and radio recordings by the legendary guitarist Gábor Szabó, captured during his return visits to Budapest in 1974, 1978, and 1981. This historic collection documents the deeply personal reconnection of an exiled artist with his homeland, bridging musical worlds and emotional landscapes.
The first disc features both studio and concert recordings with some of Hungary’s top jazz players of the era, including the legendary double bassist Aladár Pege and renowned vocalist Kati Kovács. The second disc includes a rare televised concert from the Hilton Hotel (1978) and Szabó’s final known performance — a moving rendition of “From a Dream” recorded in 1981.
The music collected here captures a poignant duality: Szabó as both American and Hungarian, outsider and homecomer. This is one of the most intimate and emotionally charged chapters of his career and a musical homecoming, rich in atmosphere and soul.
As always with Ebalunga!!!, Gábor Szabó’s legacy is treated with great care and passion. This edition features a 2LP gatefold vinyl release, complete with an in-depth essay by Szabó’s official biographer Douglas Payne — a fascinating piece of cultural and musical research in its own right.
The visual design is the work of artist and industrial designer Anton Bogdanov. With no use of AI tools — just handwork, imagination, and deep respect for the material — the artwork invites the listener to spend long evenings in its layered atmosphere.
Mastering is by Grammy-nominated engineer Jessica Thompson, whose work has revived dozens of legendary archival recordings — including the previous four Szabó releases on Ebalunga!!!.
This album is also available as a 2CD set in an elegant 6-panel digipak, crafted with the same care and attention as the vinyl edition.
