Thanks to his ears educated on radios and charts from across the Atlantic, he honors this generous vision of pop that encompasses old school hip-hop, R&B, jazz, funk, disco and new-wave, and navigates between different styles in the manner of American artists. Some tracks are in French when others are in English, and feature the singer Anna Majidson, the rappers Jwles and Valee, and the late Oxnard-born Cola Boyy. Thus, on "BLABLABLA" we go from a studio haunted by Quincy Jones to a cellar where The Cure rehearses "Boys Don't Cry"...

Blasé is a French-American pop artist, composer, arranger, producer, singer and author. Since his childhood and teenage years in New York, he has experimented and nourished a sound between 70s rock, electronic music, disco and hiphop. His American musical baggage in hand, he moves to Paris and starts his first band, Haute, with Anna Majidson. A first hit will be born out of their collaboration, “Shut Me Down”, whose Colors session accumulates more than 30 million views on YouTube.
After this first success, and following numerous collaborations with various artists such as Agoria, DJ Pone, Lala&ce, Niro or Jwles, Blasé has now his own signature sound. Considered an alien by his peers, his first EP “Pourquoi Blasé?” released in 2023 on French cult label Record Makers (Kavinsky, Cola Boyy, Sebastien Tellier…) demonstrates his unique talent for blending Chic, The Strokes and Manu Chao.
“BLABLABLA”, Blasé’s debut album to be released on March 14th stands as a personal manifesto, full of seemingly naive words and pop explorations: 15 original songs in search for the groove.

With ears trained on US radio and charts, Blasé celebrates a generous vision of pop that encompasses old-school hip-hop, R&B, jazz, funk, disco, and new wave, navigating between different styles like American artists do. Some songs are in French while others are in English, featuring singer Anna Majidson, French sensation rapper Jwles, cult hip-hop artist Valee, and the late Californian disco figure Cola Boyy. On “BLABLABLA”, we move from a studio haunted by Quincy Jones to a basement where The Cure’s “Boys Don’t Cry” is being rehearsed.

Despite its title, there’s no downtime or unnecessary chatter, but a “BLABLABLA” reflecting Blasé’s desire to express himself freely and sincerely as a fully realized artist.

La Ritournelle is undoubtedly Sebastien Tellier's biggest song. Since its first release in 2003, it kept growing and circulating throughout the world year after year like a virus. Considered by many as the ultimate love anthem of the 21st century, the song has now infected numerous hearts and lovers, and gained a classic status.

The song is made of 7 epic minutes of a sensual and mesmerizing piano hook, with the late afro-beat maestro Tony Allen on drums, lush romantic strings, Philippe Zdar on the mix, and a heartbreaking lyric at the center of the song that goes: Oh nothing's going to change my love for you / I wanna spend my life with you So we make love on the grass under the moon / No one call tell, damned if I do Forever journey on golden avenues / I drift in your eyes since I love you I got that beat in my veins for only rule / Love is to share, mine is for you Since the release, we have received countless love messages.

One from a famous DJ who told us he heard the tune while driving on the freeway and had to stop on the side of the road, in tears. It was sampled by The Weeknd for the song on "Kiss Land" (2013) and used in several long feature films. "La Ritournelle": often been copied and covered, but rarely equaled.

Spotted by French label Record Makers (Sébastien Tellier, Kavinsky, AIR, Cola Boyy) with his 2017 “Dessous de plage” first EP, nit has since grown from funky DIY library music to a lush and complex groovy sound. The magic of this debut album “Big Bang Puzzle” is a keen sense of composition and an innate affinity for 90’s European electronica.

It’s a playful album, the work of an artist at the peak of his craft, determined to twist styles and references (Daft Punk, Ennio Morricone, Robert Miles, Vangelis...) in order to give them a new form.

“Big Bang Puzzle” is a tangle of psychedelic and cartoon-esque pieces, an abstract modernist painting of sounds inspired by vintage pop music. The cover, created by Swiss artist Flora Mottini, offers a first glimpse of his brand new universe.

But it’s also by collaborating with French iconic design studio H5 that nit suddenly enters the French Touch genealogy. nit takes the shape of an n that grows legs and arms to become a cheeky cartoon character traveling through a real space-time continuum. Parisian H5 studio has been involved since the end of the ‘90s in the design of strong visual concepts for French Touch’s elite (Etienne de Crécy, AIR, Mirwais). French music at its best from which nit is a direct descendant. And one who expands and opens even further: pop, italo-disco, trip-hop impulses, Morriconian cavalcades, lo-fi aesthetics, Caribbean music. Producer and mixer Lucien Krampf (Oklou, Ascendant Vierge, Casual Gabberz, CRYSTALLMESS) was the person in charge of mixing this ambitious record.

nit is both a question and an answer, and a musical enigma that pushes us to explore the far reaches of our imagination…

the verse is sung by the woman, the chorus by the man.
Prudence (formerly from the successful duet The Dø) is the female vocalist, Morgan Phalen (who sung with Justice and is the vocalist of the band Diamond Nights) plays the male character along with a special guest: the saxophone.

"Zenith" showcases Kavinsky's romantic side on a muted and futuristic sound.

In January 2004, Sébastien Tellier released "Politics", an ambitious album which preaches the defense of the oppressed peoples, in a luxurious dressing. The press ignites, but he was considered as an original elitist. Nevertheless, "La Ritournelle" is a piece which whole France knows, without knowing who sings it.

In September 2005, lead by his Ritournelle which crossed the Channel by swimming, the same album goes out to the UK with crash. "Epic, gorgeous dance track we can't, can't, can't stop playing", The Sunday Times, October 2005.

Sébastien Tellier's live shows reached a kind of artistic summit, a model of intensity and strakness. It is from this control that came the idea to record, on December 30th 2005, an acoustic session of his directory accompanied by the pianist Simon Dalmais.

The fruit of this session gave birth to this album, "Sessions", intimate and straight. "Sessions" is a collection of timeless pieces, stemming from his directory, in the right lined by the authors / composers / performers who mark their period. In bonus of this recording produced as an album studio by Alf (Air, Phoenix), Sébastien Tellier recorded a resumption of Christophe's "La Dolce Vita", as well as an instrumental unpublished one "Classic".

This is the first time this album is pressed on vinyl.

Hailing from Sapporo, Ishii quickly became synonymous with futuristic, cutting-edge productions, and ‘Jelly Tones’ - originally released on R&S Records in 1995 - was the breakthrough release that propelled the Japanese producer to global notoriety.

Now reissued on vinyl for the first time since 2008, this 30-year anniversary edition of ‘Jelly Tones’, celebrates the album’s lasting legacy and continued influence with the dynamic rhythms, crystalline synth textures, and sophisticated arrangements that set Ishii apart - from the propulsive elegance of ‘Stretch’ and the layered complexity of ‘Pause in Herbs’, to the tribal, otherworldly darkness of ‘Moved By Air’ and the lush close of ‘Endless Season’.

Following on from 2016’s Doing It In Lagos: Boogie, Pop & Disco in 1980s Nigeria, Soundway Records return to that blistering set for the first and only officially licensed re-issue of the highly coveted debut album from Steve Monite, featuring the single ‘Only You’ that recently seeped its way into popular culture. Lovingly restored and remastered on 180g vinyl with liner notes.

Shooting, space-synth sounds ripple and vibrate, incessant grooves keep the tracks in motion and Nkono Teles production, a producer often overlooked for his hand in the Nigerian boogie sound, sets the LP into orbit. An album that was largely overlooked on release in 1984, the track list includes the latter day hit ‘Only You’ and ‘Things Fall Apart’, the melody of which was lifted for Young Franco’s 2020 single ‘Fallin’ Apart’.
