Bangladeshi Born Producer Lady Tazz, debuts ‘Sleaze’ with a killer remix from Radio Slave this June. At the heart of Lady Tazz’s mission is Mind Medizin, her label and event series that champions the sound of kindred spirits, now inviting Radio Slave to the mix this June. Lady Tazz has overcome many cultural obstacles to achieve her rightful place as one of Toronto’s foremost electronic dance exports. A renegade of sorts, as a teenager, she would regularly visit the UK and Germany without her parents’ knowledge to attend London’s Sound Academy and to party in Berlin, whilst continuing to pursue her aspirations of becoming a DJ. The Bangladeshi producer and DJ is proud of her heritage but is realistic about the social expectations of throwing raves in her hometown. She moved to Toronto in her teenage years, where she grew up, educating herself on music and a place that has perfected a sound that remains organic and raw. Her record label and party series, Mind Medizin, taps into an erotic lifestyle that embraces the unconventional and free-spirited, which inspires and motivates Lady Tazz on numerous artistic levels. For Mind Medzin’s latest release, Lady Tazz will drop ‘Sleaze’ on the 27th June, to include a special remix from Rekids founder and UK godfather, Radio Slave, making his debut on her label. Foreboding and dripping with lascivious intent, ‘Sleaze’ brazenly stalks into existence by way of warping synth fills and glitching hi-hats. The lyrical component consists of a series of smouldering vocal hooks which salaciously enrapture one’s senses, tightly wrapping around the creeping melody before succumbing to the beat’s stomping dominance. On the flipside, Radio Slave’s remix revs and fires with shots of ringing overtones atop a deep thud, husky vocal and swooshing cymbals. Whilst upping the ante of the original, its stripped-back charm remains, culminating in a moody, chugging rework bubbling with tension and fraught with Radio Slave’s brand of dark, fractured house.

Skipping any introduction to dive straight into the essence of the compilation, Skjöld portrays 'Forbidden City' as a tense aquatic exploration. With pressure in the low end, he keeps the record alive by conjuring obscure pads to give dimension and intrigue to an already nervous track. This persistence is quickly met with weight; Tapefeed's 'Residual Memory' follows up to tap into the label's more aggressive side. Riddled with mechanical sound design bordering on the industrial, the Tapefeed duo creates dancefloor dominating energy that sets them apart with an all-out approach. The density of this second track feeds smoothly into Stephen Disario's 'Out Of Tune' - a drum-forward record with dispersed texture. The LA based producer puts his hi hats brutally forward to cut through the space, finding a remarkable balance between its two sides and exploiting its confrontation. Returning to the label's recognizable resonance, Merino steps in with 'Memoria' - a manic 5 minute synth loop with minimal percussion. Dealing in restraint and dissonance, Merino naturally finds a home in Fuga VI with this track before heading back into the peak time paranoia of JSPRV35 in 'Question'. Pushing up the intensity and flicking through vintage percussion lines, 'Question' is an extraverted homage to the origins of techno that embodies flair. The track drives through the middle of Fuga with ease, bouncing rhythm off a sharp bassline with thundering claps and snares. 'Catch 22' by Terminus restores balance with minimalism but pace. A hypnotic break in the second half is sure to mesmerize dancers and home listeners alike. Stuttering hats shake throughout 'Catch 22' to push the track along, keeping the harmony low and maintaining focus on the movement. With a similar tempo, Sanna Mun follows up with 'Binary Systems'. A speedrun through an acid-like bassline, the track's rhythm is obsessive and persistent as we reach the conclusion of the compilation. Fuga VI comes full circle with a ghostly track by Mode_1 called 'Lifespan', stretching time and tunneling through with booming toms and shuffled hats. Keeping the pressure high and maintaining that never ending energy is the only way to wrap up such a high energy release and Mode_1 does just that.

Berlin-based Buttechno has reputation for being one of techno's hardest hitters, but this EP of 'X-berg dubs' is as much about the tease as the impact. 'Tech March' opens proceedings, ruthlessly combining the kind of low end thump beloved by Autechre and LFO with snaking, junglist frills, making it dark and brooding but also irresistibly danceable all at the same time. 'Dub 22' gives us his unique take on dub techno, speedier and flightier than the genre's usual template and much more rhythmically embellished too. 'Hypno Dub' is similarly way uptempo but lithe and light, murky stabs poking through the filters, before 'Grey Dungeons' goes full on old skool junglisms, like an early Ram or classic Moving Shadow affair from the early 90s, all voodoo vocals and tense, splintered snares. Dub be good to us.

I was aware of Submerse from a long time ago, mainly for when he was making hip-hop & footwork tunes but I had noticed that a few years ago, on his SoundCloud page, he was uploading jungle tunes that he had started making, which got me interested in keeping tabs on what he was doing.

But it wasn't until I met him in Tokyo where he's based, when I played after him at an event at Circus (venue in Osaka & Tokyo) and then met up with him again later on that week that I realised how much he had been making.

He sent me some of the stuff he'd been doing that wasn't available publicly yet and I was really impressed by how strong the melodies were and how much influence from video game soundtracks he had in his tunes, I knew I had to get him on Future Retro London for a release.

Luss descends from the heights of the Swiss Alps to pilot the Challenger Deep for a second time. It's been over 5 years since his previous mission, but the analogue maestro deftly handles the controls as if it was yesterday.

Natural Nature features an ode the Earth, and our unbreakable connection to it. The tune is underpinned with the sound of flowing water, and develops from a sparse landscape punctured with dub echoes, into a synth laden groove with shuffling highs, primed to uplift any dancefloor.

Waves is a straight up, sound system heater. There are no delicate trickles here, pure waves of bass weight, overlayed with echoes of roots reggae guitar chords. Once again, the pressure-honed environment of the Challenger Deep serves as the perfect home for dub traditions of the past to meet the cutting edge of modern bass music.

Apersonal Music, the Barcelona-based imprint known for its sun-drenched blend of house and disco since 2010, proudly presents the new EP by one of its longest-standing artists: Cisco Cisco. Portuguese duo Cisco Cisco are renowned for crafting emotional and uplifting house and disco, filled with hypnotic sampling and shimmering effects. Their sound has become a signature of Apersonal’s catalog, and The Heat EP is a glowing continuation of this. On the A side “Why Can’t I Be You?” brings classic disco energy to the table — lush, melodic, and full of that heartfelt groove Cisco Cisco do so well. Plus returning to remix duties alongside Cisco Cisco is Ron Basejam, whose unmatched ability to transform disco originals into dancefloor monsters shines once again. His remix of “Why Can’t I Be You?” stretches nearly eight minutes, slowly building and wrapping the listener in a deep, infectious groove. On the B side “The Heat” is a bold detour into early-2000s French electro house, evoking the raw drive of the 2000s. “Under the Bridge” channels the spirit of a Generation X Parisian house party, with filtered synths and punchy basslines reminiscent of Daft Punk’s earliest work. And rounding out the EP Rayko delivers on his finest style, bringing a darker, late-night vibe to the release. His remix of “The Heat” is a driving, immersive journey blending electro and techno influences tailored for the deeper hours on the floor.

Renowned electronic duo Session Victim are set to enchant fans with their latest EP entitled Sidequests Chapter One. Featuring four originals and one remix, Sidequests melds Session Victim’s signature blend of tripped-out hazy house , broken beat and trip hop with their trademark fat production and positive vibes. Infusing their love for live instruments, sampled sounds, and organic beats, the opener Pulse Of Memory is the first collaborative effort in a series of tunes written together with renowned producer and synth wizard Viken Arman. Sweden’s Tiger Stripes returns to Rekids with the ‘Dance For Peace’ EP, following on from February’s ‘All Night Long’ and 2024’s ‘I Heard It Through The Bassline’ EPs. Across four warm and funk-fuelled cuts, he delivers another essential selection of House grooves primed for peak-time moments and deep, late-night sessions alike, already supported by Oliver Dollar, Riva Starr, Anja Schneider, and more. The opening track, ‘Time For Peace,’ is a brilliantly loopy roller, featuring bouncy drums, muted synth motifs, and a vocal swirl of soulful cries that ramp up the energy.
