Manzo Edits Vol. 5 trots proudly back into the ring, tail high and hooves tapping, with four fresh cuts to leave the dancefloor gasping for hay. "Rosy" opens the stampede with groovy springtime melancholy: Manzo is lovesick, staring across the fence at a cow he just can’t forget. "Amare Moto" slinks in with sultry swagger, a slow and sexy jam built to get the hips moving. On the flip, "You Have To Cry Tonight" struts in with crisp Italo drums and more attitude than a Saturday night stallion. When Daichi Furukawa showed up on our radar in 2018, it was at a time when the ESP Institute was loosely focusing on (our obtuse version of) club-friendly releases, but upon our first listen to his Ground demos that would become his debut 2xLP 'Sunizm', we immediately threw accessibility out the window again. Ground is technically from Osaka, but we believe he’s actually from another planet, merely passing through, collecting data from all aspects of Earth—be it organic, animal, chemical, or human-made fodder. Perhaps his clan found the “Golden Record” on our space junk Voyager 1 and considered our attempt at self-representation oblivious, mediocre, laughable, and decided to come show us how it could be done properly. After the inimitable 'Sunizm', a slew of singles and remixes, and follow-up EP entitled 'Wakusei', we’re proud to finally present the long-awaited 2xLP, 'Yaoyorozoo'. Once again, Daichi steps into some hybrid-of-hybrids territory—a truly mutant fusion of culture and sonics that should make no sense at all, but his confidence (and disregard for public comprehension) shows no mercy in thrusting his vision upon us. 'Yaoyorozoo' is both ancient and future, primitive and advanced, tribal and lone wolf—a mélange of human success and failure, a cerebral scraping of consciousness, a granular paste of Earthly artefacts smeared across 73 minutes. Moments of undeniable beauty devolve into heavy and uncomfortable hallucinations, voices speak to us from hidden spaces in the soundstage… or do they? Scenes are set just long enough for the listener to accept one reality, only to be abruptly disoriented by jarring elements that pull our subconscious center-stage and question our sense of perception. What the fuck is actually happening here? Everything evolves tangentially, much like dream abstractions—or this press release itself—testing the limits of audience patience and laughing at any semblance of what’s acceptable, functional, or conventional.

FLABBERGAST duo Vincent Lemieux and Guillaume Coutu Dumont presents, via Yoyaku x Chapelle XIV, their first full-length album “Consolation in Constellation,” an expertly composed interplanetary voyage of sound.

Drawing from their respective musical roots in improvised live sets and classical composition, Lemieux and Dumont’s collaborative digital work stands out for its unique blend of spontaneity and discovery, combining experimental elements with a focused, coherent approach.]

Rooted in their rich history of compositional experience and musical influence, this new release defies classification and convention, offering an auditory travel experience orbiting electronic, jazz, acid house, and futuristic grooves.

Imagine this: Sitting in a darkened room in Dalston, London… the music pushes across a very nicely tuned sound system, (a la Cafe Oto) the artist says "not quite sure what to do with this track, or what to call it"…. In a moment of bravado one shouts out in reply "Release it!" Well this is where the very long story starts… we won't bother you with the other details for now, but this is the start of how we managed to have the one and only Jimi Tenor to grace the fl.oz roster! Jimi went onto play 'Release Me!' live for Gilles Peterson on BBC 6 Music the following day and we've kind of been playing catch up ever since, The 'brukked' up remix and dub versions come courtesy of Special Guest - the new guise of (ex zero dB) Chris Vogado… more to come:
