One Level prides itself on championing quality over quantity, and this ethos is beautifully demonstrated in its second release... Aleqs Notal, the former scratch champion and consistently evolving producer, joins the label family with a collection of four remarkable tracks. Despite his years of experience, Aleqs admits that he's still in the process of refining his own sound and with 'Big Tal's Elements’, a nickname affectionately bestowed by longtime friend and fellow artist Manaré, his four carefully curated house joints encapsulate a wealth of influences, all beautifully combining to create a modern and innovative soundtrack. Following his early years of turntable virtuosity, and having embarked on a new creative chapter in the studio, it was 2014 and as a founding member of the innovative ClekClekBoom collective - a group of young French talents who spearheaded a groundbreaking movement that reshaped the Parisian electronic landscape - that saw Notal continue to cultivate his own sound, one rooted in the sounds of Detroit and Chicago. He became a respected DJ on the cities’ club circuit, and has gone on ttener.

Mate knows that you can't really beat the original deep house blueprint so the music it releases doesn't often try. Instead, it just tweaks and refines, colours a little around the edges, but always keeps musicality and soul at the centre. Toolate Groove is next up with a super tasteful offering that opens with quietly euphoric 'Librame' and also comes as a delicious dub. '97 Ride' (Club Mix) has a distinctly 90s feel with fun Rhodes jamming and swinging claps. The Destiny Dream Dub ups the heat with a smoking female vocal and more pronounced bassline then 'Fresh From Abidjan' brings some dusty breaks to a surging groove. As classy as it gets from front to back, frankly.

"Never 4get EP", an EP of house tracks from KERAW (Bruce Vanderro & Lucas Moinet) made at their Studio 937 in Paris. For this release, they wanted to give back the original color of the traditional deep house sound from New Jersey with four essential-to-release tracks of theirs. "Never 4get About The Second Vibe" pays tribute to the 90's deep chords tradition with a proper hardcore deep house second vibe. On the other hand, "Until The End Of The Night" brings a deep & introspective ballad theme to the record, while "50%" and "Jersey Bass" ensure the resurrection of the early 90's traditional New Jersey sound. All tracks have been composed, recorded and produced at Studio 937 with yesterday's and today's hardware equipment. Matter of fact, Keraw never wants to forget the NY sound of deep house music foundations.
KERAW is a deep house production duo made by Lucas Moinet (Groove Boys Project) and Bruce Vanderro (aka Rawaï). This production team is the fusion between an instrumentalist and a beat maker, and became a common ground project for paying tribute to the early 90's US House sound. Their production process is mainly hardware based with an full analog recording studio and old school recording methods. Through their record collection, Lucas & Bruce fell for the NY deep house sound and co-founded the Studio 937 in 2018 as a place to create, experiment and record their music. Behind the desk, they play old school house music records in the NY tradition.

The groove boys project are what we can commonly call true soldiers of house music. Since their irruption on the scene in 2015, they have not stopped promoting house, deep house and all its variants (new jersey, dream house, jazzy house ect ...) through their multiple releases and their DJ sets. Their sound is completely analog (one day to see their studio, it's worth it!). This ep was indeed inspired by the Italian scene (which skylax records has always promoted), they are accompanied by Novaj (pioneer in France with his youtube channel dedicated to the most beautiful house songs), producer in his spare time, their association is wreaking havoc. The GBP have already signed several remixes for us (soul of the makossa man) and we are delighted to finally be able to dedicate a release worthy of the name to them. Amore, night in rimini, taste of heaven & mondo paradiso form one and the same room, a house monolith of pure pleasure. Undoubtedly, a future great classic.
