About a year ago Nico Stojan and Acid Pauli met at the studio to record some music. While doing so they discovered their common love for sample based production. So they were basically digging into old vinyls and eventually these three tracks came along. Nothing more to say, but enjoy.
‚Call of The Valley' is the first release on the new label Ouïe:
There has been a shift in this tiny piece of massive world and, like all other shifts, they
are documented by those who were there. Ouie is the label to do just that, created by the
people who were there, making those shifts.
It began when dancers old and young and in-between, began falling in love with a new
kind of space: cool-like-lemonade dance-floors and the music that worked them - a kind
of electronica that blurred the genres and removed the boxes that we once knew.
Ouïe is the label where these tales will be told. Reading with your ears you will hear
these stories from page one. You hear the artist's influences; the travellers they
passed, the lovers they lost, the jungles, deserts and cities they crossed. And, of
course, you hear the work of musicians whose knowledge of music allows them to
cross-pollinate computer music with ease. Think jazz. Imagine disco. Dream ambient.
Desert grooves. Imagine what you can't. Behind Ouïe are Acid Pauli and Nico Stojan, guys who have created these shifts with their music over multiple utopian soirees attracting some of the most colourful and awake people on the planet. For Chris Tooker, the first decade of his artistic journey was immersed in bands while the
second was engaged in wandering the realms of electronica in the form of creator, composer and engineer for DJ duo KMLN.
Today, after many incarnations, Tooker returns to the source of himself while carrying both the treasures of his past and a vision for the future. Tooker has long been called to pursuing obsessive trails through the greater cosmos. On these journeys, he seeks particles with a hypnotic essence. Once found, he interprets this magic in his own special way, through the most universal language - music.
His music tells stories of fascinating adventures through the dust, the palms, and the gritty
streets of yonder. It is colorful, deep, and disco laced. It flaunts rare collected percussion (delivered live in his sets), various instruments and sometimes whispers a touch of voice.
Now his solo-debut EP Nang'o drops on Acid Pauli and Nico Stojan's label Ouie.
For the lead track Nang’o, Tooker recruits the phenomenal talents of Kenya’s multi-instrumentalist Labdi. Labdi’s oruto (a western Kenyan fiddle instrument) and bewitching vocals provide the hooks for this subtle, shuffling track, presented here as both a full version and as an instrumental.
Baladi features Shawna Hofmann both on co-production and vocal duties - this time a more driving, rolling groove develops with Shawna adding sultry, evocative vocals to the mix.

Undone rounds off the physical release - another signature exercise in subtlety and restraint, as an infectious groove folds in bubbling synths, crisp percussion and dubby effects.

Next up on Nico Stojan and Acid Pauli’s Ouïe label is the Tia EP by Cologne-based producer Jonathan Kaspar. Fitting perfectly into the label’s roster, as the 2018 predecessor Mera, this is three tracks of tricky, leftfield dance music that will appeal to the more adventurous electronic music aficionados. Lead track Tia is a brooding epic, unfolding in unexpected ways as the rougher edges give way to dreamy pads and a tight, loopy groove keeps things in motion. Bigna shares a similar aesthetic - an intricate percussive groove provides the foundation for some minimalistic synth explorations and textures. Exclusively on the vinyl release is Nea - artfully balancing dancefloor prowess with esoteric instrumentation and a minimal aesthetic. Elin rounds off the digital release, a slow burning heater with live percussion, thick bass and atmospheric pads and blasts of noise.

“Basically my albums have developed into my personal field of experimentation” says Martin Gretschmann, aka Acid Pauli. Known primarily for his psychedelic, leftfield club sounds that weave between slo-mo beats and deep burners, his EPs, remixes and collaborations have generally been more focused on the dancefloor. With his latest album, MOD (his third full-length released on his own Ouie label), Gretschmann goes in a tangential direction, drawing inspiration from modular synthesis and the scene that has flourished around it over the last years. The result is an album produced almost entirely with modular systems, inspired by the possibilities and restrictions of carefully shepherding machines that sing to themselves.
“I know a lot of people who somehow found themselves and electronic music in a boring dead-end alley, and who have now found completely new worlds through modules”, he explains. Experimental as MOD may be, it certainly isn’t ‘difficult’ or inaccessible - or as someone put it, the nine tracks here are “soft, elegant, fluent, dreamy - the tracks achieve the effect of space-time morphing - magical states”.
The album is best heard as one continuous piece, allowing it to unfold its delights gently. Most of the tracks were recorded live in one take - often with Gretschmann recording up to 10 different versions before choosing the final piece. Propagating Flip Flops starts things off - its glitchy textures and sync-shifting set the scene for the album - the sounds evolving and developing before resolving into a warm, ethereal tone. Intellijel Bell is made up of deep loops of rhythmic sounds, while metallic sounds and a submerged jazzy undertone hint at the classic Acid Pauli sense of fun. Acid On Yusef uses looped up rhythmic pulses and bass tones, joined by modulated beeps and blips. A touch of that iconic liquid acid sound pulls it together and gives the track its name. Sublime Frequencies Of Cairo is another beatless, floating collection of loops that shift and morph - seemingly suspended in space, before an ambient orchestral element resolves the track.
As the title suggests, Du Brecht, Ich Dub revolves around a bass heavy sound, building up a rhythm of disparate elements that develop into a tense yet somehow weightless groove. Life Polarizer is further evidence that an Acid Pauli album will always somehow drift back towards the groove. The track works the effects pretty hard - sounds pinging between left and right and ebbing and flowing into the mix. Peace Waer Schoen also makes heavy use of delay to create a dubbed-out, wonky feel. The freedom of getting away from computer based production is referenced sardonically in Quantize Hell - its bleepy sounds find a rhythm and progression outside of the grid. Finally, No Kick, No Cry brings the journey to a close - it’s the first and only kick drum of the album and adds a structure to the magical unpredictability of the looped sounds.
The album’s artwork perfectly reflects these sounds within - created by musician and artist Billy Caso. Each track is also accompanied by a minimalist video, created with a device from this modular world - the "Vidiot". It’s clear that in MOD, Gretschmann has produced a homage to the modular scene that might inspire as many people as it delights.

David Mayer returns to Ouie following his well received The Call EP from 2018 and The Circle recently released on the new sublabel Ouïe Circle.
Though being born in south Germany, Mayer grew up between Norway and Lanzarote, perhaps a clue to his expansive and border-less sound.
Here he brings three new tracks to the label from Acid Pauli and Nico Stojan. Title track Skanda is a psychedelic trip through firing percussive elements, wonky synths, distorted vocals and an unstoppable groove.
Snake Dance has a similarly unhinged feel, building around a one note bassline and crisp, rolling drums before heading to the stratosphere with sparkling arpeggios.
On the B-side, there’s the vinyl exclusive Ouroboros Track - an 8 minute odyssey into Mayer’s interest in hypnotic percussion and psychedelic track structures.

Ouïe is the label of Acid Pauli and Nico Stojan, two cosmic travellers who started the imprint to curate diverse music that somehow all fits within their musical world. With their 14th release, the reigns are handed over to Disarmed, a new project by two veterans of the electronic music scene, for their 3 tracker 'Slow Down EP'.
The vibe fits perfectly with the label - first track 'Disarmed' is a deep chugging, melodic cut - dreamy vocals underpinned by a thick, grooving beat - one for the festival crews.
The 'Lovestruckk Remix' of the same track dives headlong into the trippy, euphoric nature of the track, stretching out the feeling over 8 and a half minutes. Lovestruckk are Nico Stojan and Holmar Filipsson (aka Thugfucker) and the two met in a cave of sorts on the dancefloor of Kater-Holzig in Berlin. An instant friendship formed and shortly after they began working on music together. A few years later, on a beautiful Tuesday morning at the 2016 Burning Man, they played the closing set of that year atop the Robot Heart bus. This set has since become the stuff of legend and where their collaboration received the name "Lovestruckk".
Finally the title track, 'Slow Down' is a chugging house groover, with rising, trippy synths - at once immediately danceable and yet perfectly suited to chilling.

Jonathan Kaspar has been making left of center dance music for some years, releasing on labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Objektivity, Pets Recordings or Kompakt's KX.

Here, the Cologne-based DJ and producer provides three tracks that serve as a reminder that dance music doesn't have to be one dimensional.

Opener 'Mera' starts out along a shuffling, groove-heavy path before various sound elements creep in, culminating with a hummed vocal full of mystery and magic. The track appears here in two versions, with the 'Strip Down' getting deeper into the drums for a full rhythm-frenzy workout.

Both tracks are perfect sunrise music, as is 'Weiss'. Although ostensibly having more of a straight up dancefloor approach, the track's low slung groove slowly reveals itself over its nine minutes into a spaced out cosmic journey.

David Mayer’s career and background is marked by a desire to keep moving and experiencing new perspectives. Having finally settled in Berlin, the German DJ and producer has built up an enviously diverse back catalogue on labels such as Connected Frontline, Objektivity, Gruuv, Audiomatique and Keinemusik. With his first release on Acid Pauli and Nico Stojan’s Ouie label, Mayer brings his trademark groove to the fore once more.

'The Call' is a mid tempo chugger built around a kick, clap and 808 blip, before a more organic groove develops. The slowed down chants and wigged out synth line take the vibe into afro cosmic territory, without losing the original energy.

'Sooner' is a little more urgent - a crisp, forward leaning rhythm and a deep, subby bass lead the way, before another frazzled synthesiser takes us on a melodic walkabout.

'Black Queen' is another example of Mayer’s slick drum programming, keeping things zesty on the dance floor but with acres of space to lose yourself in.

Acid Pauli and Nico Stojan's Ouïe label acts as home for left-of-centre music from disparate sources - somehow connected by a thread of hedonism with a melancholic edge. Welcoming Kerela Dust to the imprint, this four tracker showcases the different dance floor shades the label always reaches.

Kerala Dust are a London based trio that owe as much to Tom Waits as they do to Four Tet or DJ Koze, but somehow tread a fascinating line between genres and moods. Mixing jazz, indie and the sharper end of the club sound, Francesca's Frames is the perfect introduction to their vibe.

'Maria' is augmented with a thick, mid tempo kick and sparse, effective percussion. The clever vocals provide
the topping - showcasing the band's pop writing prowess. The track will appear as a single release on 6th Aprila accompanied by a music video. Acid Pauli and Nico Stojan's remix picks up the pace a little, while dubbing out the elements into deep, late night dance exploration. Acid Pauli's album BLD dropped earlier this year and was a superb reminder of Martin Gretschmann's unique place within the electronic music. Breathing musicality and adventurousness into everything that he does, the album covered a number of moods and emotions, from dystopian carnivalesque vibes to moments of high intensity, through to deep melancholia and synth laden ambience. Following on from the "A" remix package, "B" brings another huge selection of producers into the fray to reinterpret the originals.

First up, Hamburg hero Stimming works over 'Amadou' - flipping the original, into a techy bomb. A thick kick underpins a shuffling, off kilter rhythm and beautifully treated melodics. Stimming's feel for gently pushing the dancefloor into new places shines through.

'René' is reworked by Roman Flügel, the Ongaku/Klang/Playhouse boss whose influence on the European electronic music scene has been immense. Always willing to experiment, 'René' is the perfect canvas - arpeggiated blips and beeps echo primitive electronic explorations by the likes of Francis Bebey, and a huge subby kick drum take this track into space.

Alex Boman sets to work on 'Jeanne', locking into his signature groovy, tribal approach to working the dancefloor. The Swedish producer adds dubby elements, an irresistible percussion track and disruptive, random sounds to the thick, heady mix.

Dutch wunderkind Satori tackles 'Jorge' - twisting the original into a psychedelic groover that finds room for backwards vocals, marimba-like melodies, fat basslines and shuffling breakbeats.

Acid Pauli's second album 'BLD' dropped earlier this year to a rapturous reception. Martin Gretschmann's trippy opus took in various stops around the musical spectrum, yet remained committed to quality dance-floor tracks that refuse to follow any particular rule book.
This collection of remixes of the album's A side (hence the name) only adds to that achievement - bringing yet more new flavours and takes from some of the most exciting names in the underground.

Imagine how sparks emit out of happiness. Bang! Your world is unhinged: Zöllner choked his wife. Edda, the 21 year old from the video store is chasing you. You enter the ring with buddy Kondor. Again and again you think you saw an Indian. And at showdown an almost biblical thunderstorm arises. Is that what it feels like - the adventure of being young ?
A 17-year-old boy is at the odds with himself and the world. Pretty normal. But the coming-of-age-story "Es war einmal Indianerland" is not normal: it's exceptional. Thrilling. Imaginative. The narration is virtousic, just as the attendant nominated novel by Nils Mohl who also wrote the screenplay - in collaboration with Max Reinhold. A psychedelic city-western ! Charged with pictures full of symbolism that are composed into a hypnotic whirl by Ilker Çatak - who won the Max-Ophüls price and who has been distinguished with the student Oscar for " Sadakat ". Another highlight : the outstanding cast. Newcomer Leonard Scheicher (" Quellen des Lebens ") as protagonist Mauser in between Jackie played by Emilia Schüle (" Ku'damm '56, " Jugend ohne Gott "), and Edda played by Johanna Polley (" Mumbai "). In additional roles there's Clemens Schick (" James Bond 007 - Casino Royale ", " 4 Könige ") as Mausers father, and Joel Basman (" Unsere Mütter, unsere Väter ") as Mausers pal Kondor.
Equally exceptional, thrilling and inventive as the film that will be aired in cinemas on 19th October, is the soundtrack of Es war einmal Indianerland. The soundtrack of Acid Pauli aka Martin Gretschmann (The Notwist, Console) plays a central role and originates from the close collaboration between Acid Pauli and director Ilker Çatak. " When I confirmed the film project, I was at that time constantly listening to Acid Pauli's music. Everytime I looked at the screenplay one of his mixes were playing. So I thought : it would be awesome if the film was accompanied by this kind of music. " says Çatak.
Acid Pauli's music, as prooved on his BLD album, is as eclectic and adventurous as Acid Pauli himself : from dystopic, carnivalesque moods via moments of high intensity to deep melancholia and fragile atmosphere - boundaries are being teared down. Sometime psychedelic and far out, sometime focused, catchy with one eye on the dancefloor. But never expectable. A musical work for the adventurous.
This was the basis for a close collaboration, a joint journey to Mexico and the fascinating soundtrack of an exceptional film.
'His œuvre is much more than the stuff he made as Acid Pauli. And that's what he offered me - it was like you're going to a lake but instead you see an ocean.' says Ilker Çatak. 'He always grasped what I was looking for. The soundtrack is a mixture of his old and new tracks and music of artists that he knows.'

Quantum Collage is the latest pseudonym of Olaf Gutbrod aka Ohm-G. Having built a reputation around his long list of chill out tracks produced while resident in Ibiza, this release on Martin Gretschmann (Acid Pauli, Console) and Nico Stojan's Ouïe sees him dive into some more electronic
textures. 'Lucid Dreaming' is a chugging, groovy trip built around a shuffling beat and dubbed out percussion and horns, tapping into Gutbrod's talent for amplifying the vibe.
'Afrika im Weltraum' adds a little more tempo - a swirling, driving drum loop provides the basis for layers of extra percussion and spacey synths and various chants and radio broadcasts.
'Her Beauty' certainly draws on some the mastery Gutbrod showed in his releases on Café del Mar and Hotel Costes CDs - a chilled out groover with the sunset / sunrise seemingly in mind.

Acid Pauli is a name synonymous with certain aesthetic towards electronic music culture - both a part of the unhooked generation of that grew up experiencing his revelatory sets at places like Bar 25 and Fusion, and yet deeply rooted in musicality and adventurousness. BLD, the second full album from Martin Gretschmann, (aka Acid Pauli), builds on his already impressive back catalogue which spans back to 2005, and includes a debut album released on Nicolas Jaar's Clown and Sunset.
Over the course of the eight tracks here, Gretschmann explores some of the many facets that have made him one of the most trusted artists in his field. Released on his own (and Nico Stojan's) label Ouïe - the album is the perfect expression of the imprint's commitment to diverse, exciting sounds, freed of the conventions of traditional club music.
The album covers a number of moods and emotions, from dystopian carnivalesque vibes to moments of high intensity, through to deep melancholia and synth laden ambience. Gretschmann's well documented love of the sampler shines throughout - tracks are textured and colored with different hues from his extensive sound palette, whether it's a part of his more psychedelic moments, or concentrated on his innate knowledge of dancefloor dynamics.
As such BLD sits together as a complete piece of music - to be relished just as much by blissed out home listeners as the left-field dancers.

You may also know it as providing the beautifully melancholic backdrop for Mos Def's 1999 hit "Ms Fat Booty". The inaugural Be With 7" is a special one indeed, containing the first ever officially licensed reissue of Aretha's all-time deep soul classic. "One Step Ahead" was not included on any of her Columbia studio albums, and remains one of her rarest releases. On the flip, "I Can't Wait Until I See My Baby's Face" is a thrilling, goosebump-inducing killer and an unfairly slept-on rendition of this eternal track.

We are beyond excited to release new remixes of an absolute classic tune by none other than Aural Float, the legendary collaboration between Pascal FEOS, Gabriel Le Mar and Alex Azary. Originally released on their debut album „Introspectives“ on the mighty Elektrolux records back in 1995, „South Of The Clouds Pt.2“ quickly became the standout track of the longplayer and an absoute fan favorite as it encapsuled the very essence of the no nonsense hypnotic sound of Frankfurt at the time. On the A-Side, label head honcho Gregor Tresher presents an epic 11-minute journey that pays homage to the timeless original while updating it for the modern day dancefloor. Through layers and layers of subtle percussion lines, Gregor´s remix builds up over time, with bold breakdowns that gives the distinctive melody line time to breathe, only to eventually culminate in bringing the massive beat back to take things to the next sonic level. On the flip, our good friends Extrawelt deliver another outstanding production once again, that has their signature sound written all over it. After his separation from Playhouse in 2007 and the rather longish break that followed it, it looks as if Isolée has finally found their new homebase with Pampa Records. Evidence of this may be found in such unprejudiced tracks as "Taktell", a single extracted from the album "Well-Spent Youth" . As is tyical for Isolée, it defies any clear-cut genre classification and creates its very own harmonic setting, merging associations of pop, house and distant landscapes into a unique sound voyage. Now his second EP on Pampa is being released, and "Allowance" doesn't leave an inch of a doubt where the road is headed. Without making any concessions to the needs of a DJ, from bar one the theme is being introduced in all its inherent necessity and then continually established until a seemingly worn-out, mainstream, pop autotune voice settles upon the cosy bass bed just like a cherry on the cake. We haven't known Isolée anywhere near as free and poppy in a very long time. A more mix-friendly version of the track will be available for digital download. "You Could Do Your Memories" lures the listener away into a daydream, as if he suddenly found himself in an unknown place at a new-wave party that cannot possibly have happened the way it did. "Wobble", on the other hand, leaves only few questions unanswered, the party definitely looks familiar, and just when we reach that point where the funk motif resulting from the fusion of bassline and chords is threatening to wear us down, we are being released.

Roma techno legend Marco Passarani dusts off his Studiomaster moniker to present a selection of vibey dancefloor burners on 12” vinyl brimming with energy and packed with 303 squelch, thumping drums, moody synths and perfectly-placed vocal cuts. Marco took the Studiomaster name from his Studiomaster P7 console, which he runs his in-the-box mixes through, to bring extra dirt and character to his tracks. The Studiomaster alias first appeared on the Passarani Bandcamp page just as summer began in 2023. The newly built B.K.S. studio space was running smoothly, and the machines have been buzzing ever since, as Marco fires off vital, futuristic, acid-drenched club tracks, under pseudonyms like Passarani 2099, Analog Fingerprints, and Kids of Rotten Future. In contrast to an internet full of streaming files and AI generated artworks, the Studiomaster brand brings the look and feel of rare 12” white label promos, minimal on design and information.
The tracks here are collected on vinyl for the first time, “They represent proper studio jam sessions,” says Marco “meant to be performed in the club. There are no songs here, just pure dance floor tools!” And it’s to those in the club that this release is dedicated: to those still dreaming about the future while dancing in the dark.
