Pour Un Homme Seul, the debut EP from Pete Beardsworth, is a cathartic exploration of the spiritual world of jazz and the healing force within. Originally just simple melodies jotted down in the back of a small leatherbound notebook, the songs were written during a long period of solitude in the year following a traumatic accident that left Pete without the bottom parts of his legs. Charting a journey of hope and rediscovery, the tracks are aural fragments of a voyage through a harsh, personal wilderness, and back again to civilization and consciousness. This voyage is painted with woodwind, electronics, vocals, found sounds, and synthesizers provided by Pete. Accompaniments by renowned Erhu player Ling Peng, Yazmin Lacey's drummer Tom Towle, guitarist Roshan Gunga, bassist George Butt, and vocalist Daisy Godfrey. It follows long-standing collaborations with Yazmin Lacey, for whom Pete produced EPs Black Moon and When The Sun Dips 90 Degrees, the genre-crossing Invisible Orchestra, Brooklyn's own Chris Rock, and work as part of free-jazz inspired electronic outfit Three Body Trio. This eponymous release from Three Body fuses digital futurism with cosmic organica. Hedonistic breakbeats, woodwind and keys interpolate six melodious tracks, stemming from live recordings, revolving around percussive conversations. With the band's raw minimal approach and combination of natural and synthetic instrumentation, this elemental EP offers an innovative study of contemporary electronic music and its relationship with ethnic rhythms and tones.

With the world in the throws of lockdown, the record never received its live inauguration, but it got nuff love on radio, with 6Music, WWFM and NTS all championing the release. It's since gained cult status amongst DJs with an ear for earthy tones, with tracks 'Palm Leaf' and 'Jampa Gawa' regularly spreading their wings. The trio's unique approach to sound is shaped by years of impromptu improvisations. The characterful drums and synthesis of Tom Towle, masterful sampling and engineering from Guohan and the wandering woodwind of Pete Beardsworth form the skeleton of this record, meticulously fleshed out in subsequent studio sessions.

Error Subcutáneo are Mauro Ferreiro (electronics) and Gonzalo Frómeta (drums). Born under the sweltering sun of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, their music portrays the colder, more urban side of life in the Caribbean, where cacophonous violence and Cold War monoliths collide with dreams of a better tomorrow. The duo take elements of hip-hop, modular electronics, island syncretism, and bebop to twist and distort contemporary narratives on music composition, representing the greater movement of Latin American resistance directly from its epicentre.

The tracks on Temporada Ciclónica fracture and scatter, synths detuned at will, the clatter of drums powering through the destabilised structures of the individual pieces. Gilles Peterson's well known love of the more avant-garde edges of jazz have made him an admirer of the duo and it's not hard to ascertain why. Their collaboration with fellow DR artist Rita Indiana on 'El Perseguidor' displays her authoritative voice as the dialogue between chaos and focus. Confusion, free jazz rage, discord and an overarching sense of threat colour this record.

Plastic Borough is the first full length release from Son of Philip. An elegant, transportative and beguiling listen, set firmly apart from the grooved-out garage heaters that first gained him recognition from heavyweights like Ben UFO, Overmono and Mary-Anne Hobbs. This 7 track album of gloomy post-club psychedelia features an intoxicating blend of fragmented synths against swirling, twisting and contorted sounds.

Complementing three of the tracks, including 9 minute mind-bender 'Infinity', are the eerie and beautiful vocals of Swedish singer Ylva Grönlund. On the EP's title track 'Plastic Borough', Tom is also joined by Matthew Farrell on viola da gamba (a 15th century cello), adding a majestic and cinematic undercurrent to the proceedings. The record follows a string of short form releases; his debut Play Monotonous (2021) on Wigflex, Me & Meds (2021) a collab EP with Lukas Wigflex released on Trouble Maker, and Allegory of The Cave (2022) Son of Philip's first appearance on his own label Bliss Print.

London-based keyboardist and composer Greg Foat is back with his new album, 'The Rituals of Infinity'. Greg's first memory with the piano goes all the way back to his Aunt's house at aged 3 - where he fell off the piano stool. Since then, his relationship with the piano has evolved into a fulfilling, and successful career. He began taking an interest in composing at the age of 11, and truly ignited his love for Jazz after attending a workshop with Jeff Clyne, Olaf Vas, Trevor Tomkins and Nick Weldon at the age of 15. He then studied jazz at Middlesex University, followed by 6 months in Sweden on an Erasmus grant which lead to his first professional studio session there at 21. Greg has worked as a professional musician ever since, and has moulded a wonderfully multifaceted career within the Jazz music genre. Greg is planning a debut performance of 'The Rituals of Infinity' at Ronnie Scotts in January.'The Rituals of Infinity' album is inspired by many things. Some titles are named after iconic science fiction books such as The Rituals Of Infinity, A Private Cosmos, The Dark Labyrinth and The World of the Red Sun. Minerva's Owl, on the other hand, is about the Ancient Greek Legend. "The owl of Minerva takes flight only at dusk." so wrote G. W. F. Hegel, the nineteenth century's major philosopher of history. By that, he meant that any given phase of history can be understood only in retrospect — after it's over. A beautifully fitting closing of the album. The album features the legendary Art Themen on Soprano and Tenor Saxophones, and Trevor Walker on Trumpet and Flugel Horn in a fine supportive role harmonising with Katherine Farnden on Cor Anglais. Natcyet Wakili has such a fluid approach to the drums which really makes the album special, alongside Jasper Osbourne on Bass Guitar. Shawn Lee also stopped by the studio with his horror movie classic waterphone - adding some eery atmospheric finishing touches to the album. More

For "Daughter of a Temple", ganavya invited over 30 artists from various disciplines to a ritual gathering in Houston. Consequently, the album features numerous contributors, including renowned musicians such as esperanza spalding, Vijay Iyer, Shabaka Hutchings, Immanuel Wilkins, and Peter Sellars. The results—an innovative and deeply moving blend of spiritual jazz and South Asian devotional music—were initially recorded by Ryan Renteria and then further edited and mixed by Nils Frahm at LEITER's studio in Berlin in 2024.

Set for release at the height of the season it’s dedicated to, ‘Music For Autumn Lovers’ by Adam Scrimshire is an eight track album of lush, mostly acoustic based, minimal instrumentals eliciting a mixture of feelings for this special time of year.

Four tracks originally released on an EP in 2022 are joined by new compositions ‘Hawthorn’, ‘Hazel’, ‘Willow’ and ‘Blackthorn’. Gently finger-picked acoustic guitars cosy up alongside pianos, synthesisers, strings and horns; filtered through an autumnal hue of susurrous production and effects. In turns comforting, melancholic and evolutionary; it feels like an album that can be kept being made and remade forever, like a season in itself.

Both a relentless creator and inspiring champion of new music; South London based Scrimshire has been recording, producing and DJing since the mid 2000s. Amongst his credits, he was featured by the Guardian as one of three producers behind the new wave of UK soul, alongside Inflo (Michael Kiwanuka, Sault, Lil Simz) and Swindle (Joel Culpepper, Greentea Peng, Kojey Radical). His bold 2023 album ‘Paroxysm’ was a response to the absurdity of the breakdown in the UK government, picking up an Album of the Week award on Huey Morgan’s BBC 6 Music show, and 2021’s beautiful ‘Nothing Feels Like Everything’ received an Album of the Year nomination at the Gilles Peterson Worldwide Awards. Scrimshire also somehow finds the time to support a wealth of talent on his label Albert’s Favourites, formed with Dave Koor and Jonny Drop, where they have recently released albums by And Is Phi, Huw Marc Bennet, Inês Loubet, Irini Arabatzi, Jonny Drop & Andrew Ashong, and Qwalia.

Label and collaborative musical collective,+33JOYannounces its 12 inch remix record, one year on from the well received 'Wellness Project' by Bopperson & Bikbaye. A year since and the same message applies, four UK based produces step up consolidating the message with their unique takes rubbing the tunes for the dancefloor, 'The Wellness Remixes' London based music for film and TV master, Frankson steps up with his trademark spacious found sound and atmospheric collage that add even more beauty to the original composition. A remix that could easily book end any DJ set, with the focus fully remaining on Bikbaye's important message. "Having struggled with my own mental health over the last few years, this project really resonated with me, so I'm hugely honored to be part of it. My Frankson project has provided a great deal of solace and healing for me on a personal level and subsequently being involved in the Wellness Project, has felt like an incredibly positive extension of that." Next up K15, a prolific name that also comes in his Culross Close guise. Having released on Kyle Hall's Wild Oats label, he sends the track 'Consumption' even further into eyes down deepness. The Rhodes and percussion shuffle together and later the track boasts huge lower frequencies that will mesmerize any dancer. Brighton's Titeknots irons out and squares up'Changes', taking it to the tropics. By adding hypnotic guitars and even more rhythmic percussion this one dances along. Michael J. Blood, mysterious punk funk producer who's slowly been carving out his own gnarly techno journey since 2019, has turned in a cavernous monster of a remix. This one earning a respectful full side of the EP, a near 15 minute stepper that jumps stright in at the deep end.
