The new Rico Friebe album "Dream" has arrived and it has been a true one-man job on drums, piano, hammond organ, (bass) guitar and vocals!
For converting his recent and life-long recurring dreams to lyrics and music, the decision to mainly embed these into one personally favoured Dream Pop-Rock/Shoegaze scenery stood to reason for him...
Opened (and closed) by the multi-guitar instrumental "Cayman" Rico Friebe sets a fugitive premise (not to be understood fiscally!) for something bigger and interfering to come.
"Dissect" immediately dissects the already crumbling, warping and distorting dream of an enchanted archipelago and falls into a scenario of a burning world, lyrically stating that "worlds collide into your life [...]".
"Crippled" then comes down as a more palpable take on people leaving others high and dry in a gruelling and fatal way while "Folder Zero" marks a consecutive shift of perspective and moment of recollecting decisions.
"You Know (How)" suddenly appeals as an upbeat Pop-appealish try to grasp interhuman interaction and communication followed by its more gritty counterpart "Disconnect" that deals with those preceding things and hopes falling apart.
"Seven" happens to be a magic number as well as a magic moment disputing the troubles and struggles of interacting and deciding within close emotional situations leading to an universal introspective (maybe the Friebe's most apt yet) with "Lessons" positioned to be infinity number 8 on purpose here.
"Now" is the musically lightest moment on the album and a recourse on the earlier Pop-appeal of "You Know (How)" before a a hypnotically replaying chain of questioning "When?" enters the final spotlight.
Ultimately, "Namyac" spawns memories of how all of this once began...
What once was dreamt in a few seconds, now unfolds in a truly unique and individual manner on this (once again) unexpected new album work by Rico Friebe!

The new Rico Friebe album "Dream" has arrived and it has been a true one-man job on drums, piano, hammond organ, (bass) guitar and vocals!
For converting his recent and life-long recurring dreams to lyrics and music, the decision to mainly embed these into one personally favoured Dream Pop-Rock/Shoegaze scenery stood to reason for him...
Opened (and closed) by the multi-guitar instrumental "Cayman" Rico Friebe sets a fugitive premise (not to be understood fiscally!) for something bigger and interfering to come.
"Dissect" immediately dissects the already crumbling, warping and distorting dream of an enchanted archipelago and falls into a scenario of a burning world, lyrically stating that "worlds collide into your life [...]".
"Crippled" then comes down as a more palpable take on people leaving others high and dry in a gruelling and fatal way while "Folder Zero" marks a consecutive shift of perspective and moment of recollecting decisions.
"You Know (How)" suddenly appeals as an upbeat Pop-appealish try to grasp interhuman interaction and communication followed by its more gritty counterpart "Disconnect" that deals with those preceding things and hopes falling apart.
"Seven" happens to be a magic number as well as a magic moment disputing the troubles and struggles of interacting and deciding within close emotional situations leading to an universal introspective (maybe the Friebe's most apt yet) with "Lessons" positioned to be infinity number 8 on purpose here.
"Now" is the musically lightest moment on the album and a recourse on the earlier Pop-appeal of "You Know (How)" before a a hypnotically replaying chain of questioning "When?" enters the final spotlight.
Ultimately, "Namyac" spawns memories of how all of this once began...

...and this is how an endless summer night's dream sound! Puestel meets his alter ego Friebe again! Can you imagine that this whole song came to Rico Friebe in a dream?!
In that dream, he was sitting in a strange living room, playing a live set with very odd, weird and partially never-seen-before equipment while everyone was annoyingly talking to him (while performing) – one person right next to him even told him that he frequently manages to eat glass by accident. WTF?!
According to all this obscurity, he tried to escape into his performance, just looking straight into a weird countertop electronic device that created sound and suddenly he played this completely unknown song with these special vocals kicking in and he immediately fell in love with and got lost in it, forgetting all about the strange situation he was in – the distracting voices around him fell into a mute state.
Shortly afterwards, he woke up and kept trying to remember all the details, the lyrics, the melody, the production, just anything, wandering around like a maniac. Finally, all of it went pretty well and you're now listening to a dream composition. Magic everywhere!

Roman Flu¨gel needs no introduction, so lets not hammer on about his lengthy history as a kingpin of contemporary German dance music, his essential contributions to the musical evolution of Darmstadt and Frankfurt, his achievements as a virtuosic multi-instrumentalist traversing genres with remarkable grace, his sense of dynamism and urgency in the construction of big-room anthems or the meticulously woven textures of melancholy found throughout his minimalist work, his ability to pay homage to pioneers of his musical heritage without diverting to pastiche, his fearless combination of familiar melody with synthesized aberration and imperfection, his approach to instrumentation as Haiku poetry where the ordinary is made profound through simple isolation, his rejection of stylistic pretense and acceptance of comforts found in the constructs of folk and pop, his contrast of cold efficiency with a warm naivete´, his yearning to return down previously-forged paths with a new accumulation of experience, the confidence to paint the room blue when it was meant to be black, his belief that a beautifully executed idea will always transcend the need for incessant polishing, the way in which he leads arrangements to the edge and only implies a resolve, his framing of musical narratives as sketches, outlines, or skeletons where the listener’s perception compliments the whole, or his notion that sometimes stories might not need a clear articulation but might only come through in hints of mood, pace, and color, a language which doesn’t rely on words to communicate but which paints for us in Themes. After the major and still ongoing success of his previous albums “Fatty Folders” (2011) and “Happiness is Happening” (2014), Roman Flügel is back with his third full-length CD/LP on Dial Records. “All The Right Noises” includes adventures into contemporary House/Techno music, finest ambient works, and unique broken pieces. What an intense mixture of incredible warmth, weird fluffiness and highest uplift, written in his very own musical language- barely another artist, active since the early nineties, sounds as fresh and surprising as Roman Flügel. From the very first chord of “Fantasy” a dream becomes reality, followed by the wonderfully seducing “The Mighty Suns”, a masterpiece of it's own. Here the journey starts getting slightly provoking with the techy “Dead Idols”. “Namless Lake” and “Planet Zorg” are excessive hymns to start a rave night out. With “Warm And Dewy”, “Dust” and “All The Right Noises”, Roman Flügel proves his love for eternal madness. The closing tune “Live Tends To Come And Go” is another warm Ambient tune in Roman Flügel perfection.

Overview:
We are thrilled to announce the highly anticipated re-issue of Ash Ra Tempel's legendary 5th Studio Album "Starring Rosi" in our "50th Anniversary Edition". Originally released in 1973, this seminal work remains a cornerstone of the Krautrock and "Kosmische" movement, blending psychedelic rock, ambient soundscapes, and early electronics into a transcendent auditory experience.
The Album has been recorded by Manuel Göttsching in it´s entity, with additional help to come from Producer Dieter Diercks playing bass, percussion, Drummer Harald Grosskopf and of course Rosemarie "Rosi" Müller.
"Starring Rosi" is an essential piece of their continuation of blending cosmic psychedelia, ambient textures, and avant-garde electronic experimentation. Originally released in 1973, this album marked a significant departure for the band, featuring Rosi Müller, who added a lyrical and vocal dimension to the band's typically instrumental soundscapes & Manuel Göttsching background singing.
To many technically Ash Ra Tempel last, yet most accessible, release, although there was the soundtrack to Philippe Garrel´s movie "Le Berceau de Cristal" and there might be some further previously unreleased, music to come out later.
Album Background:
*Starring Rosi* stands out in Ash Ra Tempel's discography for its lighter, more accessible sound, balancing the band's signature cosmic explorations with melodic structures and poetic lyrics.
It marks an unique chapter in Ash Ra Tempel's discography, featuring the ethereal vocals of Rosi Müller alongside Manuel Göttsching's visionary guitar work. The album is a sonic journey that takes listeners through seven distinct tracks, each showcasing Manuel Göttschings pioneering approach to music.
From the dreamy opening track "Laughter Loving" to the meditative "Day-Dream" and the atmospheric "Interplay of Forces," songs that illustrate the band's evolution from their earlier, more intense and improvisational albums, showcasing a more reflective and introspective side .
"The Fairy Dance" is delving into the mystical and meditative, transporting listeners to a dreamlike state.
While "Schizo" sounds like a continuation of the best moments of the previous Ash Ra Tempel records, is the last track "Bring Me Up" an Up-tempo Song that features Manuel as well on vocals.
"Starring Rosi" captivates with its blend of cosmic improvisation and melodic beauty.
Reissue Details:
This reissue of *Starring Rosi* has been introduced and overseen by Manuel Göttsching still, and finalised by his Family exactly to his standards, in which the meticulous approach to his work lives on.
An updated 2024 recut carefully commissioned by Schnittselle in Berlin (who also signs responsible for the previous ART Reissues, likewise, the 2016 E2 E4 Anniversary Edition ensure the warm depth sound while bringing out the rich textures and nuances, all of the original recordings. The reissue is available on 180-gram Black vinyl and a Limited Edition in transparent Pearl Sunrise Vinyl.
Both vinyl editions comes with a replica of the original Vinyl Artwork including it´s original Backside.
The Limited Edition also includes a Poster of the alternate Backside, used later on the CD Editions showing Rosi and Manuel improvising during studio sessions. Also included are prints of previously unreleased Original "The Fairy Dance" Music and "Schizo" Composition Sheets handwritten by Manuel

An updated 2024 recut carefully commissioned by Schnittselle in Berlin (who also signs responsible for the previous ART Reissues, likewise, the 2016 E2 E4 Anniversary Edition ensure the warm depth sound while bringing out the rich textures and nuances, all of the original recordings. The reissue is available on 180-gram Black vinyl and a Limited Edition in transparent Pearl Sunrise Vinyl.
Both vinyl editions comes with a replica of the original Vinyl Artwork including it´s original Backside.
The Limited Edition also includes a Poster of the alternate Backside, used later on the CD Editions showing Rosi and Manuel improvising during studio sessions. Also included are prints of previously unreleased Original "The Fairy Dance" Music and "Schizo" Composition Sheets handwritten by Manuel
