Pleasure Planet - Remember (In Dreams)
Pleasure Planet's kaleidoscopic debut album has been a long time coming, but good things come to those who wait. Developed over years of late-night studio improvisations, 'Pleasure Planet' is an affectionate and colorful patchwork of the New York City-based trio's knotted influences that's suspended between the rave and the chill-out room, weaving glistening pads and chunky basslines into vocal earworms and warm, saturated rhythmic cycles. Bandmates Andrew Potter, Kim Ann Foxman and Brian Hersey enter into a lysergic dialog with their discrete personal musical histories, drawing inspiration from vintage EBM, ambient music and heady early '90s West Coast rave sounds and launching these classic elements into a transcendent new sonic universe.

Pleasure Planet - Alien (Alex Kassian's Sphinx Gate Mix)
Pleasure Planet is back in orbit, summoning some of their favorite producers to reimagine the two lead singles from their self-titled debut album.
Earth Trax transforms Go With Madness into a euphoric peak time corker. Full of smiles and surprises, it’s a pure endorphin rush, and masterclass in making an irresistible dance track.
Maara goes with madness, cranking up the bpm, and conjuring a version that is deep into prog territory. A propulsive proto trance journey through winds and dungeon echoes.
On her version of Alien, Roza Terenzi casts a hypnotic spell of ghostly melodies and vocal hooks. Her deeper interpretation takes listeners on a breakbeat mission through sizzling electronics and emotive sub bass.
Alex Kassian’s Sphinx Gate Mix of Alien closes it out by slowing things down and transporting Alien into nostalgic territory with melodic arps and peak Haceinda-era breaks and bass. If you listen to his emotional remix carefully enough, you may hear a vocal response from Kim Ann’s partner Cora in its final fleeting moments. More

Packed with three headphone jams that work on the dancefloor, Animals marks the entry of a new creative force into the Throne of Blood family and a return to a lighter, more spaced-out vibe than much of the NYC-based imprint's output over the past year. With an eye towards pushing things forward whilst keeping a foot firmly planted in a shared past spent raving to all sorts of dance music, Throne of Blood is proud to introduce our latest signing: Pleasure Planet. While sharing space in the Throne of Blood Studio, Populette's Andrew Potter and long-time friend Brian Hersey started making music together to explore their own weird ways, fondness for left-leaning techno, and adolescent memories of genre-less dance music. The product of this collaboration is a massive collection expansive, free-form jams which have been tweaked and freaked for maximum impact. Captivated by the demos she was hearing when she dropped by their shared studio space to work on her solo material, DJ/vocalist/producer Kim Ann Foxman (ex Hercules & Love Affair/Need Want Records) jumped into the fold, lending her production and vocal skills on the title track "Animals." The song serves as an apt introduction to PP and builds upon Kim Ann's recent vocal turns for the likes of Maya Jane Coles and Snuff Crew. Compiled from a series of live takes, the Animals EP crystalized slowly over the last year. Consequently, Pleasure Planet's debut offers three distinct but complimentary visions of Andrew and Brian's utopia and serves as a precursor for a longer follow-up record already in production.

Kim Ann Foxman - We Are Rhythm (Spray Remix)
Hawaii-born, San Francisco-seasoned, and NYC-based musician, DJ and vocalist Kim Ann Foxman returns with a warm and emotional EP ‘We Are Rhythm’ on her SELF:TIMER label that she runs alongside DC rave veteran Andrew Potter. The EP also includes a remix by Irish progressive house/trance master Spray. This release is the first of the many exciting releases on SELF:TIMER this year including the debut album of her band project Pleasure Planet.
Foxman explains: “We Are Rhythm was inspired by my latest DJ gigs where I found complete synergy with the dance floor. It’s magic whenever this happens, and I really wanted to make a dance EP that captured this feeling somehow with catchy vocals and prime time energy. I’m really thrilled to have Spray on this release! His remix of We Are Rhythm is fire!”

Set the timer & get into position, Kim Ann Foxman returns to her Firehouse imprint SELF:TIMER with a solo EP, following up the extraterrestrial trip that was Pleasure Planet’s debut last year. This time she takes the lead with ‘My Dog Has Fleas’. Don’t reach for the vet hotline quite yet; it’s actually based on a ukulele tuning technique popular in her Hawaiian stomping ground, but you’d never tell... A juicy, slinky, 80s-informed jam, it carries all the hallmarks we’ve long since come to expect from Foxman. As is the Pleasure Planet remix by herself and longstanding friends Andrew Potter and Brian Hersey as they bring on their atomic energy with fresh vocal samples, guitar, and cosmic flare you’d expect from such a hedonistic NYC gang. Deeper into the shoot we strut: ‘Shake The Bones’ is the dog-walking equivalent of a run on an unfettered, unpeopled, unlimited coastline. The elements. The energy. The space and fresh air; this doesn’t just shake your bones, it’ll shake your whole soul. As for Marc Piñol and Hugo Capablanca’s acid-wrenched C.P.I rework... It’s a mix so fiery it sent their studio into meltdown and their Roland Space Echo literally went up in flames! (True Story!)
