Baltimorean producer, Thommy Davis, has been contributing to the House Music scene for more than 40 years. Boasting a huge musical portfolio, he is highly regarded amongst peers and fans alike as one of the founding fathers of the Baltimore House family. This 7-inch sampler showcases one of the highlights from Thommy’s new album, 'Mr Davis’, the electrifying cover version of Karen Young’s disco gem, ‘Hot Shot’, by way of a brilliant duet from Tasha LaRae (Arrested Development) and Quantize royalty, Sheila Ford.

One side sees a signature M+M Edit from the maestro John Morales who provides a stunning slice of disco euphoria, with the other side combining the power of Thommy and DJ Spen to give a soulful house tinged spin on this classic. More

Soulful house legend Timmy Regisford brings his trademark sound to DJ Spen & Thommy Davis’ Quantize Recordings.
‘Falling In Love’ is a sumptuously sizzling heater, marrying Regisford’s classic soul-laden production with Tiger Wilson’s sensuous vocals. It’s a combination that will ease any pains, calm any worries and bring a smile to the face, bottling up that sunshine feeling for those darker days when a little lift is needed.
Timmy then offers up three mixes to bring a real versatility to the e.p. First up, the ‘Instrumental Mix’ that lets Regisford’s bumping bass, jazzed up piano, swelling strings and spiritual keys do the talking. Secondly, the ‘Alternative Vocal Mix’ switches the percussion of the original opting for more congas, shakers and bongos whilst leaving the claps at bay to give a deeper interpretation of the original. The final mix then drops the vocals of this alternate version completing what is a standout e.p. from Timmy Regisford that captures the essence of 2018’s summer of love.

Earth, Wind & Fire are obviously one of the greatest bands of all-time and both of these remixes are works of art in their own right. On the A side we have the much in-demand Blaze 'Shelter' remix of "Fantasy" which stretches this classic to 8.55 and finishes with an unbelievable Phillip Bailey acappella. As though that wasn't enough we've put the much sought-after Masters At Work remix of "Can't Hide Love"
a staple record since its debut in 2002.

Brian Harden is a second generation Chicago House head, starting in 1995 under the wings of Glenn Underground, being part of the legendary Strictly Jaz Unit. His work on Detroit's Mike Grant and his Moods & Grooves label should also be noted.

One of his most famous works is his second EP on Cajmere's Relief Records, originally issued in 1996. The EP contains some of the most prolific drum machine action ever committed to vinyl and stands for the sound that brought Chicago House on top of the underground Music map in the mid 90s.

Pickled People - We all know a few of those, but how many of them were turning out bare bones, stripped & funked out rolling tech-house back in 1996? Not many we reckon! Well, except for the dynamic duo of Terry Francis & Jiten Acharya, ably assisted by the man Bushwacka aka Matthew B on mixdown & engineering duties. This self-titled 12" you have here in your hands is a rare diamond, another set of smooth and acidic jams from London's potent tech-house underground, a rich and rewarding scene, one that is back with a vengeance today with discerning selectors from around the globe tuning into what was making clubs move here in the capital pre-millenium. The beauty of these super rare and expensive to obtain tracks is that they seem to be made with both the DJ and the dancer in mind, meaning - they are fun to mix and blend and drop long arse 10 minutes blend with without ever being boring, AND they are sure as hell fun to dance to in the darkened corners of whatever space you're lucky enough to find yourself in. Not short on the old Funk, this is premier league shit right here, from the dons. Proper subterranean business from that London town. Sure to be in your bag for the next 20 years n'all!

Somehow Klasse Wrecks has made it to 50 official releases, not bad for a label that wears its ignorance for others and 'the norm' proudly on its dirty sleeve. Over the years the label has released a multitude of various sounds, spanning bleep, rave, deep house, down tempo and the 50th release does well to encapsulate that free spirit and openess. Without much planning and totally by way of coincidence the responsibility lies with label co-owner Luca Lozano and its sonically a typical mixed bag as to be expected. Kicking off with restless acid stomping, the title track barges through the door...knocks over a few drinks before blossoming into a breakdown that propels the 303 deep into space and back again. On the A2, Lozano shows off his love for creaky breakbeats and DX donks on a track called 'Re-Mix'...which as far as we know isnt a remix of anything at all. The flip contains more raving beauties, 'Save Me From The Rave' might be a desperate plea but by the sounds of it he's still enjoying the madness, the producer makes an epic breakdown that might well signify the end of all Trance homages. Then the final track of the EP sounds like it could be played in a field in Glastonbury in 1993, its haunting vocal harmonies signify the sun is coming up soon and likely that we're about to start Chapter 2 of the Wrecks Wrebellion.
