Flipping to the B-side you'll find rising star Magnolia and his buoyant soul bouncer 'Believe In L' featuring stunning vocals by Mani Hoffman (Starlight) and Million Miles. Opening up the EP, ‘Keep Moving’, revolves around a truly epic vocal line conjuring up feelings of late ‘70s discotheques with a modern interpretation. ‘Aye Oh’ turns the heat up with a Latin-inspired funk filled beat, complete with chanting vocals. A thumping beat keeps the momentum up through to the end.

Flip it over for ‘Disco Dancer’ a straight up dancefloor heater, channeling the sounds of Bollywood disco - an underrated source of musical joy.

Finally, ‘Rise Again’ closes out proceedings, an afro-funk inspired cut, this track came out of a series of studio sessions during a long and cold winter. Dubbed out vocals layered over ‘80s style synth lines are intertwined with melancholy breakdowns. More

The Disco Express rolls into town once again with this four track EP of disco and house delights.

First stop, 'Sugar Rush', a buoyant, synth track tipping its hat to 90’s house identities. Featuring powerful diva vocals, rolling drums and a fun bouncing bass line, Sugar Rush is exactly what it says on the tin, a sudden rush of energy full of drive and sweetness.

Next up, 'Marble City' is a thumping house track packed with catchy guitars, grooving live bass and gorgeous synth hooks. Altogether they create a ready made, dance floor banger, full of urgency and enthusiasm.

On the B side, featuring the stunning vocals of Venessa Jackson and 'Special K' on guitar, 'Blue Diamond' is a concoction of disco, house and gospel; an original dance music experience, made with gusto.

Neatly tying together the Iridescence EP is 'Kobala'. A breakbeat number full of chilled percussive grooves, a jaw-dropping sub bass and spine tingling strings. More

London loft party and label The Disco Express drop their long awaited, inaugural vinyl EP with four heavyweight belters courtesy of label boss Bustin' Loose.

Getting the EP underway are two tropical, Afro-Disco influenced hits. Punchy and oozing in exotic flavours ‘M&H’ boasts galloping percussion, infectious vocals and ludicrously funky sax solos. A sure-fire, feel good, disco heater. Following suit is ‘Calypso Disco’ a sun kissed, daytime groover boasting a synth line so funky, it is irresistible to dance.

Flip it over for two soulful disco / house chuggers. First up is ‘Best of You’, a peak-time disco bomb jam-packed with anthemic trumpet loops and silky vocals. Building up to its explosive finale, this uplifting club powerhouse is ready-make to get you grooving. Bringing the EP to the fore is ‘Philadelphia Champagne Delivery’ an absolute firecracker, exuding in booming low end vibrations, gloriously shimmering strings and a shredding guitar solo to perfectly seal together the Disco Connection EP. Norwegian talent Meera makes her Crosstown Rebelsdebut with the atmospheric ‘Stikk’. Landing on 30th August, the EP sees the young artist flex her production prowess with remixes from Dennis Cruz and Tripolism. Riding the success of her debut single ‘Music For Humans’ in 2023, Norway’s Meera was swiftly recruited by Damian Lazarus, joining him at his Hï Ibiza residency before heading to Rebellion for the release of the resonant ‘Teflon’. The sought-after artist has shown no signs of slowing, releasing a series of remixes this year amongst European shows, festival appearances, and Ibiza pit stops. Continuing this momentum, she now makes her label debut on Lazarus’ renowned Crosstown Rebels with ‘Stikk’, with imprint regular Dennis Cruz joining on remix duties alongside melodic Danish trio and former collaborators Tripolism, who also make their first outing on Crosstown. Landing in realms of afro-house, Meera’s production is cool, confident, and creative. With eclectic influences audible throughout her standout sound, her ‘Stikk’ EP proves why she first garnered the attention of artists such as Jimi Jules and John Digweed. The title track leads with minimal climbing percussion, introspective piano melodies and delicate, dreamlike vocals. In contrast, Tripolism’s remix turns up the intensity to a biting crescendo, adding sharp synths for a more dancefloor-focused feeling. ‘Sykkelkurv’ reaches for higher planes of emotion with its atmospheric soundscape, moody chords and driving drums, toeing the line between light and dark. Next, Dennis Cruz’s interpretation drives the track off the line and into deeper rhythms with chunky low-ends, picking up the pace for peak time. Digital purchasers are treated to a bonus track titled ‘Stikk Reprise’, a pulsating trip back into the lead single, with a heightened focus on the song's hypnotic vocals and raw emotive energy. More

Half Spanish, half Lebanese, Rakim Under was born in Chile, grew up in Memphis and Spain and is now based in London.

Listening to his debut EP for M.A.D. Records, it’s easy to hear his exotic heritage very much reflected in his music.

Karim effortlessly covers many styles, ranging from Latin house to Bollywood infused breaks and electro, all under pinned with his distinct hi-pressure bass lines.

As a DJ, Rakim has a taste for a variety of musical styles, where genre has no limit. Selecting from his painstakingly curated record collection, even the deepest of diggers will walk away having had their ears opened, failing that, he’ll at least make you dance your ass off.

When not playing on his own, he is a resident at his own event, Soursopp where he often plays alongside David Triana at what is quickly becoming one of the best parties in London and beyond. More

Lovers of Italo disco music will consider Cyber People as one of the most important acts in its scene. The Space-synth sound Cyber people brought in the mid 80’s, was highlighted by their 1985 ‘Void Vision’ release, which became a hit both in Europe, as well as in South America. On top of that, Cyber People paved the road for acts like Koto, Laserdance and Hipnosis, just to name a few. Cyber People were disbanded though in 1988, but left behind a series of most important Italo Disco records.

Now, build on the ashes of the former and legendary ‘Memory Records label from Parma – Italy, Memix International is pleased to announce its return, and the return of Cyber People. In its original form, headed again by the Maestro Giorgio “Theo” Spagna himself, as leader of the pack, with a tribute to Anfrando Maiola, the founding father of Mamory Records’ most important act, Koto, who left us in 2023.

As a tribute, Anfrando’s “Dragon’s Legend” get’s a complete new overhaul by Cyber People, respecting its original structure, concept and spirit, bringing it however into the 21st century.

Besides the almost 8-and-a-half-minute tribute of Dragon’s legend on the MEM-side, on the MIX-side you will find the DJ friendly ‘DJ DUB’, bringing you the compact essential of ‘Dragon’s Legend’ for any up-to-date Italian Disco set. (And if you want to call it Italo Disco, that’s perfectly fine with us too!)

With this release, Memix International continues where it’s predecessor stopped in 1989. Paves the road into a new era, and pays with this rerelease it’s respect to Anfrando Maiola and his Koto releases , such with full support from his heir.

With this release Memix International also brings a tribute to Alessandro Porta, the great Italian designer and visual artist, whose heirs were as kind to participate also, and made one of Alessandro’s drawings available for the sleeve of this unique release. It was Porta who was, on many occasions, responsible for the characteristic artwork of various Koto releases and, all together it will for sure make this release a well sought item which comes in a strictly limited edition of 500 units, so distributed on a ‘first to come, first to serve’ basis. Expected release and shipment: end of September/begin of October 2024. More
