Rebecca Goldberg - Bleikur (Thiz. One Remix)
Bónus, the new EP from prolific Detroit techno producer, Rebecca Goldberg includes 3 brand new acid tracks on the A side plus 3 remixes from mainstay Icelandic producers $leazy, Andartak and Thiz. One on the B side.
Goldberg released the A1 first single, Bleikur, a fast-paced 909/303 workout, over 3/03 weekend to coincide with her appearance on HÖR and debut DJ set at the world renowned Berlin techno club, Berghain. The single release was accompanied by a music video created by Georgian photographer Nina Nayko.
The A2 title track, Bónus, waxes squelchy and post-apocalyptic, while the A3 inside track, N.A.O., blends intricate layers of synths and drum patterns creating a dream-like experience. N.A.O. is an acronym for North Atlantic Ocean, Goldberg’s muse.
In addition to her original tracks, for the B side Rebecca enlisted the help of three producers from the North to provide their own unique takes on Bleikur (it means Pink in Icelandic).
Bónus EP is produced and arranged by Rebecca Goldberg.
Additional remix production by $leazy, Andartak and Thiz.One.
Mastered by Andy Toth.
Record pressed at Archer Record Pressing Co. in Detroit, MI.

Detroit's Rebecca Goldberg, aka 313 Acid Queen, releases 5 techno bangers incl. Mark Broom remix on Phoq U. Phoq U Phonogrammen, the rebellious U-TRAX sublabel, returns after 26 years with its eight release, produced and manufactured in Detroit. Detroit native Rebecca Goldberg, who has previously released music and performed live under her 313 Acid Queen alias, will present her brand new People Mover EP at the Detroit Movement festival, on May 26, 2023. The EP features 5 dancefloor fillers, including the Detroit-style remix by Mark Broom of the opening track Automated. The EP is inspired by transportation, industry and travel, as well as the city of Detroit of course, paying homage to the original minimal techno music and the evolution of technology and industry.all tracks are live jams, recorded in one take on all hardware instruments. Rebecca tries to do as little post-work as possible, with just a little bit of final arrangement. Her work often incorporates field recorded sounds, and for this EP she used samples recorded while riding on the Detroit People Mover itself, the elevated automated light rail system in downtown Detroit. Goldberg started a sound walk group called Detroit Frequency and the recordings were taken on during the first event last summer. The EP kicks off with the fast-paced Automated, that echoes the hypnotic minimal techno sound of Robert Hood. Mark Broom added an extra dose of 909 funk in his Mark Broom remix, which provides the track with even more pumping rhythms and making it sound even more 'classic Detroit'. The B-side opens with Elevated, that features industrial-ish DPM sounds on a bed of pure acid, as if Goldberg wants us to remember why she is named the 313 Acid Queen. Staying On meanwhile, puts a repeating DPM announcer's voice central stage, making it a fascinating piece of minimal techno. The closing track Linear Motion creates a dark atmosphere, with eerie, down-pitched DPM sounds that makes this a spooky techno trip that we believe many people will love.

Progression..., like a spark shooting through fiber optic cable or a bullet train churning through the next tunnel, the acid-techno arrangements of Detroit-based DJ/producer Rebecca Goldberg have a velocity to them that’s spurred by reverence for the roots of electronic and techno music conceived in her hometown, from the Belleville Three to “the Godmother of House Music,” DJ Stacey “Hotwaxx” Hale. Palpable in the pulse of Goldberg’s latest EP 313 Acid Queen is an urgent and inspired, cool and confident sense of picking up a proverbial torch, of propulsion along with preservation, of continuation as well as re-invention. Born vigorously forth upon the blooms and grooves of her synth scores for these five songs is the sharpest demonstration, yet, of her signature sound and vision. 313 Acid Queen reaches to and re-enlivens the traditions of Detroit techno with Roland’s contemporary iterations of the 808, 909 and 303 drum machines, quintessential sonic characters utilized by the region & genre’s seminal producers. The title refers, also, to the Detroit area’s predominant telephone area-code, as she audibly reaches out to touch the essence of her city’s distinct and dynamic neighborhoods and landscapes, most evidently with the field recordings from city streets and the animal populace inhabitants in the majestic Belle Isle Aquarium. These kinetic, contemplative and coolly exhilarating tracks were conceived to carry on the tradition of Detroit acid techno in the contemporary world. Fittingly, Goldberg’s first vinyl release comes on March 13t h (3/13), distributed internationally through Detroit Underground, a multidisciplinary arts collective & record label. Goldberg’s fellow Detroit producer Ryan McCray has a deep sound and keen sensibility for acid techno all his own; he fell in love with the 313 Acid Queen track “Aquarium” and remixed it to be an exclusive bonus track for the vinyl release.

"Master of ambient spaces and far out places, long-time Finnish producer Sasu Ripatti (aka Vladislav Delay) blesses us once again with another release, this from his 'Visa' period of unreleased tracks.
The first track out of the gate is a recognizable Vladislav Delay piece, but instead of gently flowing rivers of sound, instead we have a series of stiff, machine-like rhythms applied to his classic infinitely deep pads and ambient environmental sounds. It just continues to pile in more elements until becoming almost indistinguishable from his natural, organic flow. From there we move into somewhat more familiar territory but still unusually stripped down and mechanical for a Vladislav Delay joint. It’s fascinating to see such an intricate songwriting process laid bare in such a way, often exposing each individual, nearly bottomless sound in isolation.
Deeper into the album, things veer into decidedly more abrasive and synthetic territory, at times becoming an almost unrecognizable artist for a moment, only to be eventually subsumed under layers of shifting ambience that could only be Sasu.
This austere minimalism makes these tracks some of the most hypnotic since the early 90s excursions, but at the same time seems to have left its organic, analog roots and melded with the harsh gridlocked modern sequencer. ~Clint Anderson More

Four modern, textural, slow-burning instrumental hip hop soundscapes set a distinct mood on this new EP by the venerable Chris DeLuca. Heavy-hitting basslines and slightly ominous hat patterns dominate, leaving these cuts verging on the territory of dark, minimal electro destruction… with a subtle dose of that funky boom bap. Perfectly applicable to both basement dancefloor experiments and gangster dealings alike.
One half of Berlin’s Funkstörung, alongside partner Michael Fakesch, De Luca is more than well-versed in the genre, having done a few remixes for high-profile hip hop and experimental acts such as Wu Tang Clan and Bjork. They’ve released an uncountable amount of records on labels !K7, Compost Records, Music aus Strom and Acid Planet, to name but a few. This is his first release for Detroit Underground.
Includes two fire remixes, one by fellow DU resident producer Valance Drakes, and the second by none other than Chris DeLuca’s son, Lenny DeLuca.

Anklepants introduces his brand new album for Detroit Undergroud, a collection of ten cuts, made with his very own arsenal of digital and hardware toys, most of them self made and customised for his purposes. This multi faceted artist creates a blend of twisted ryhthms, synthetic melodies and weird textures and noises, yet danceable stuff but with heavy focus in experimentation and risk.

pulsewidthmod, creates tracks that are very epic and driving in nature; all of which are recorded as live techno jams using Elektron’s Dark Trinity and an MS20 mini. Her influences from Techno to Industrial, EBM, and Belgium New Beat leaves the listener with some menacing drums and a juxtaposition of both pleasing and disorienting melodies. Serpentine Servitude explores the idea that perhaps the serpent in the garden of eden was really being humanities servant. Who was this creator character to dictate which fruit was ok for us to eat? Who was he or they to say that if we ate the fruit we would be tainted and forever separate from divine love? All this did was create the idea in our consciousness that we were tainted. It is of my personal belief that the idea that we are sinful is the original sin. This God character who created beings in his own image and then dictated how they were to live their life kind of sounds like an over controlling father. Where is mother in all this? The album started with the track “Original Sin” which was originally titled “acid”. Seems somewhat appropriate since the concept of original sin seems to be a violation on humanities consciousness

Astral Dust is a 4 song excursion bridging the styles of Derek Michael and Marshall Applewhite. This project stems from a live recording of a set performed by Michael in 2002. After being tucked away for almost 15 years, the recording was found and sent to Applewhite who dissected the performance into fragments and breathed a new life into them. While some portions of this release are distinctly sludgy, the majority is a perfect amalgamation of both Michaels and Applewhites hard-edge, melodic borderline IDM styles. The digital release will feature 2 digital only sub cuts from the sessions.

Spanish techno master Reeko makes his mark on Detroit Underground with a release exploring the darker facets of humanity in mesmerizing fashion, with rhythm and drone taking equal importance. “Lovers and Bandits” sets side A off with a brutal broken march, hard kicks building slowly into caverns of sonic noise. “BDSM” twists the sounds of pleasure and pain into an endless dark delay, leading you to the edge and right into “Hard Sex Club”, roiling with indecipherable voices and a hovering synth build that teases but never quite strikes. Side B straightens the beat with “Slaughter”, a searing background noise underpinning an evolving rotation of menace that pushes the beats forward into a pit of noise and sludge. “Sex With God” is a fierce techno rhythm, wet, crunchy, and percussive without the ubiquitous kick drum, building to a crescendo of heat and buzz. Finally, “Submissive Behavior” is a massive paranoid drone, prickly with hunger and menace. On “We Are Bandits”, Reeko strips down his explorations of sound and texture to the barest essences, making for an unsettling and intriguing listen.

Sparse shifting textures, lush spatial treatment, and their trademark mischievous editing lead you into unexpected sonic territory. At once moody and whimsical, organic and structured, a combination of crisp sound design and fluid processing explore the depths of cold digital space. The "B-Side" is a jaw dropping re-invention of bossFYTE's 2012 single "Think About It", brought to you by none other than the godfather of generative modular exploration, Richard Devine. From the ruins of the birthplace of techno …Detroit Underground returns with this, their twenty second release, in a catalogue that has come to define the outer limits of experimental electronics while still adhering to dance floor basics. This edition sees DU label boss Kero return to the spotlight in collaboration with LA based sound designer and interactive director Drasko Vucevic, aka Drasko V of Los Angeles based DRASTIC Music + Technology. Drasko has recently created, among other things, sound design for a promotional featurette for the Academy Award nominated film Gravity. Given the label’s long time fascination with the intersections of music, art and technology the collaboration is as fitting as it is fruitful. Side A ups the collaborative ante as this 12’’ comes blasting out of the gate with two very strong remixes, Exponent is the subject of a relentless 4/4 treatment from LA techno exponents Drumcell while Superheavy gets an acid-style work out from Canadian producer Jesse Somfay’s Borealis project. It is not until the second side that we hear the original versions of Exponent and Superheavy, both of which reveal themselves to be undulating masses of hip hop tinged beats over dark, bass rich undertones, with the latter offering some brighter tones as well – in other words pretty much what you might expect out of a Drasko V and Kero collaboration. Side B is further rounded out with a couple of remixes from England’s Si Begg and Valance Drakes the former coming in with a super compressed, squelched out, electro inspired take on Exponent while Valance Drakes chills us back out with an impossibly mellowed out version of the same

Annie Hall‘s new LP Random Paraphilia on Detund™ explores these experiences through five original tracks with remixes by Richard Devine, Valance Drakes and ERP. Setting the stage for this intense journey into experimental electronics is Annie Hall‘s track DSM-5 which when spliced and diced in the remix by rhythmic mutilation master Valance Drakes establishes an ache deep inside mind and body. Together they offer a bold introductory to Random Paraphilia. Annie‘s collaboration with Shadow Huntaz in Bandit 28930 adds a male vocal and sets the stage for release of the pent-up pressure, through a remix by none other than Richard Devine, who emerges after months incommunicado from his new Atlanta based studio with Bandit 28930 Remix -- a remix for which many around the world have been anxiously awaiting. Prepare yourself for new Richard Devine frequencies creating what we believe to be the most blissfully disturbed / re-aligned symphonic nerve rhythms of aural affect. Annie takes the reigns back pumping a frenetic, raw, experimental sound in Sada Abe. Tables are next given to Convextion aka E.R.P. who captures her snare for a mesmerizing effect in his gorgeous idm electro soul Sada Abe remix. Annie‘s voice and rhythm machines respond with breakbeat-style in Foihtreiu diversifying the set with what only a graceful feminine touch can produce. Rounding the set out is Symphora featuring new synced visual work by CPU Bryant Place, SF based Obscura digital artist, complementing the mystical journey with a visual experience unlike any other. Record Sleeve and promo video are by DMAS3 who once again completes the audio-visual package with elegantly futuristic visual art appealing to our desire for journey far and wide. Annie Hall‘s Random Paraphilia is personal, intimate and political. It is a highly-charged and dynamic 8-track LP beckoning us to explore the world anew.

BIOSFERA is the first electronic conceptual release from Oscar Mulero available from Detroit Underground. After twenty years on the road as international ambassador of techno, BIOSFERA marks a return home for Mulero. BIOSFERA is comprised of six experimental soundscape compositions each inspired by a different Autonomous Community in the Principality of Asturias - the mythical, semi-mountainous region on Spain's north-west coast. The result is an exceptionally rich aural tapestry of lush spatial environments from one of the world's foremost techno producers.

Mental Reaction ep is an original Scan 7 release on Detroit Underground of classic Detroit warehouse techno and electro via two new tracks and a remix.
After many years of collaborative work we are wildly ectatic to present -- finally! -- Scan 7, fabled anonymous masters of stealth, activism and classic Detroit techno. Mental Reaction and Noise Tension are two new 'zenith' recordings shifting the order of things to reveal dark energy amid consistent, intense forms of brightness. Punctuating the diptych is a ground pounding, break-oriented remix of Mental Reaction by du's Annie Hall. State of the art graphic futurism by dmas3 makes strange any sense of normality cutting new forms for productive living in an ever-expanding universe. Mental Reaction is the antidote to 'austerity' via classic Detroit warehouse techno. A new throbbing, syncopated Scan 7 classic Detroit rhythm hails us, freeing up accumulated, pent-up anger having to cope day-after-day witnessing cowardly, hypocritical elites avoiding culpability for wrongdoing in the world. Warm, rhythmic frequency distributions align logical and ethical sensibilities hypnotically. Mental Reaction is a new Scan 7 legend to reveal dance-activist pathways to higher ground in the face of adversity.

RISP is Richard Devine's most advanced exploration of experimental acoustic space to date, now available from Detroit Underground. These compositions were created and initially sequenced on the Euro rack modular and Elektron Octatrack machines. Advanced media technology driven by algorithm-based generative time structures forge new pathways to critical discourse across six tracks. Expect new forms of becoming especially reflection, restfulness and peaceful integration subsequent to witnessing crazy, chaotic, seemingly broken machines talking to one another, somehow harmonized via Richard Devine's remarkable human/alien sound design. Limited edition clear 12" vinyl with screen printed sleeves & graphic design and visuals by dmas3.

Somfay makes his debut on Detroit Underground with four tracks of opiate bliss entitled "Bright Black Borealis" inspired from within the corona of lucid dreams. Slowing down the use of his birth name on his work, this is the last record he will release under the name Somfay for some time while he focuses on developing his various new projects under several aliases. "Bright Black Borealis" was recorded during late winter of 2010 and came about from intense lucid dreaming where the record's title originated from a specific dream where Somfay floated and flew quietly over dry autumn crops, meadows and forests under a pitch black sky which somehow was electrically bright while remaining dark at the same time. The sky instantly lit up with fast morphing and elegant loops of foggy green aurora, one of which descended slowly until it reached his head, and wrapped entirely around him, causing his mind to blank out in meditative bliss. The works within this record, although very much capable of being utilized in a dancing environment, all hold within them at their core the moods of this main lucid dream and others around the same period of time. 'Already Blank Face' is motorik and broken in its centre of rhythm where ionized melodies wrap themselves around the heady rhythms in pulsing nighttime cloud formations while 'All Above All' is a more squiggly affair with early acid influences and a more straight forward, to the point, rhythm section which evolves into a shuddering ball of glowing melody towards its conclusion. 'Virga Widow' is carries twilight hues heavily on its shoulders where both moonlight and neon blood red fading evening sunlight coalesce into a blanket of effervescing, hypnotic melodies, held together by a steady, heavy, diamond grit encrusted rhythm section while 'Soak Scalene' takes a more abstract approach to hypnosis with mesmeric and warm sampling which weaves in and out of itself twisting around a bent rubber, binary, maze of plasticized percussion.

Ghost Assembly - I Miss Your Love (Disco Dub)
One of the smash hits of last year, Ghost Assembly's more-garage-than-garage burner 'I Miss Your Love' is back for 1993 with a pair of deadly remixes and another world-building insert to break your heart.
Also known as one of Manchester's finest DJs/curators/all round top humans Abigail Ward, her debut release (!), the original Ghost Assembly 12", dropped a year ago, sold out almost instantly and is yours off discogs right now, for £ 100 +++
But wait - we've got some shark repellent here in the form of a brand new 12 featuring the all-important club mix together with 2 phenomenal remixes that take things in very different directions.
After Abigail wowed all her mates with her hitherto-unheard production GENIUS, her more eager pals were quick to hit her up for some stems so they could have a go at a remix. Abs is better connected than most and has better taste than us all so it's no surprise that we got some top-shelf efforts returned to us.
Keen to elaborate on the world she'd expertly created with the first 12 - and its accompanying insert, masterfully telling the story of a queer club in 80's Manchester; a more brutal time, long before the Pink Pound - we now fast forward 5 years and who better to capture the vibe of the North in 93 than Red Laser's hardcore OG...DJ ABSOLUTELY SHIT who teleports us from the Jive Club to Bowlers with 2 double doves straight up the bum and earns himself the prime A1 position on the record, cut loud and heavy for maximum impact.
Flip over and you get the classic Club mix once more and then there's a B2 for the ages - double legends BRIAN NOT BRIAN and PIERS HARRISON team up with a load of hardware and dub everything right out creating a bonafide Red Seal Roller, channelling On-U to bring a remix that if it actually dropped in 93 might have saved us all from Trip Hop.
Don't forget the insert - sealed with a loving kiss is a letter that will make you cry. It's not addressed to you though, so will you be a nosey parker and crack it open or will you leave it be so you can shark the whole thing on Discogs (trust me no amount of money you get for doing this will match the value of opening the letter).
This is strictly limited again, it's gonna be the hit of the year yet again, just be grateful you didn't have to wait five actual years for it...!! More

Tracklist:
A1. My Heart (90s Mix)
A2. Drift
B1. Back To
B2. Fortune
B3. Roadblocks
With Australia‘s dance music scene being more prolific than ever, it‘s only fitting that one of the continent‘s hottest tickets appears in the Running Back universe. Sam Alfred‘s debut on it’s subsidiary Misfit Melodies melts the old with the new, swings the hips with the hits and unites the past with the future. The man with the adorable underground white label mp3 Shine II Dawn under his belt, is not only a DJ to die for, but also a witty, interesting and most of all enchanting studio talent. Aptly titled Roadblocks, this 5-track-EP once more underlines his appeal: his-speed house and sprinkles of retro rave meet the melodies of tomorrow.
While My Heart and Back To sound like Strictly Rhythm tracks played by UK Garage DJs, Drift and Fortune are prime examples of Sam‘s production powers. last, but not least the title track is the result of a trip to Dekmantel and a nod to the proggy bounce of the 90s. Built with love and made to last.

Detroit house and techno staple DJ Holographic launches her new label, Through The Veil, with the release of her newest 12” EP with influences that trace back to the Detroit funk of the ‘60s. ‘House In The Dark’ part of a new body of work that will channel Holographic’s deep ties to astrology.
DJ Holographic’s spiritual journey has taken her deep into the practice of shadow work, a type of psychotherapy that allows her access to repressed parts of herself, finding answers about everything from her childhood experiences to romantic relationships to creative blocks. Born and raised in Detroit, this experience of inner exploration has educated and empowered her and serves as the inspiration behind her new project.
Holographic will debut this extremely personal work fully uninhibited on her new label. The releases correspond to each zodiac sign and will arrive monthly alongside her busy tour dates as she bears the flag of Detroit through global electronic music’s most regarded spaces/parties. More
