After new releases by Alexander Johansson & Mattias Fridell in April and Vinicius Honorio in May, James Ruskin welcomes back Kr!z with his third EP for Blueprint.

Kr!z has been at the forefront of techno for more than a decade. Influenced by the hypnotic and energetic sound helmed by veterans such as Jeff Mills, Steve Rachmad and James Ruskin, he gradually but steadily developed his own identity in the international techno scene. After making a name for himself as a skilled DJ in home country Belgium and the Netherlands, Kr!z launched Token Records in 2007. It has since been a leading outlet for heady, purist sounds. He rapidly established the label as a fixed value with a timeless and powerful sound and took it around the world with label nights on every continent.

After 12 years spent assiduously focused on curating the Token discography, showcasing artists he has nurtured and supported over this time, 2019 saw the release of his long awaited debut EP on Token. "Mantra" received high acclaim by both media and the scene's key DJs. This continued in 2020, when he released the track "Scorpion's Tail" on Voltage Imprint and "Malice" & "Imperative Needs" as part of a split EP with Pfirter on his MindTrip label. 2022 was his most prolific year to date with three full EPs seeing the light of day: "Neutrino EP" on James Ruskin's Blueprint Records, "The Tunnel" on Setaoc Mass' SK_eleven and "Atlantis" on his Token. In 2023 he released a follow up on Blueprint "Revelation", a split EP with Steve Rachmad on Reclaim Your City and "Marbles" on Token.

Now, the Belgian DJ and producer returns to Blueprint with a new 4-tracker this summer, entitled "Horo EP".

Since 1998, Dustin Zahn's work has put his career on a steady ascent. Along the way, he has gained years of experience and unrivalled musical diversity as both a producer and performer, earning him respect among techno and house legends, purists, and contemporary DJs. He performs regularly around the world and his DJ sets are much like his releases. "I like it dark enough for the boys, but groovy enough for the girls", says Zahn. With a preference for marathon sets and his laid-back approach to life and music, heseamlessly traverses through various genres to create a unique, hypnotic vibe. As a producer, his releases on labels such as Drumcode, Rekids, CLR and his own Enemy Records have brought him international success. Having garnered a rich musical education through working at and holding a DJ residency for one of the UK's most respected record shops Eastern Bloc, Kerrie's in-depth knowledge and unwavering dedication to music shines through her notable back catalogue and bolshy, unforgiving DJ and Live sets. Honing her craft for over a decade, Kerrie has played worldwide in celebrated venues such as Tresor, Berghain, fabric, FOLD, Elsewhere NYC and festivals including Freedom Medellin, Freerotation, Drift and Basilar.

First learning to mix via her brother's turntables in the early 2000s, it wasn't until 2009 that Kerrie invested in her own set-up and built an extensive record collection, covering everything from ambient, electronic, house, EBM, acid, electro, and her go-to genre, techno. Kerrie delivers tough moods from the turntables, as conveyed in her mixes for Reclaim Your City, Bassiani, SLAM and Crack, where she carefully blended high-energy styles of UK, Detroit, and European techno, many of which stem from the 90s and the 00s. It's frequent to hear Kerrie weave broken elements into her mixes too, chopping up the 4/4 groove at just the right moment to keep things propulsive. Kerrie's Live sets are fast becoming renowned for their trippy motifs and high impact on the dancefloor, applauded by Berlin's long-running club Tresor, where she made several appearances with her Elektron machines. Kerrie's Live set at Freerotation in 2019 was one of the festival's most talked-about debuts, and this year, Kerrie will return to and debut at multiple festivals and clubs across Europe and the Americas.

Following well-received releases on labels such as Don't Be Afraid, Cultivated Electronics, I Love Acid and Symbolism, Kerrie launched her imprint Dark Machine Funk [DMF] in 2020. The label homes her distinctly raw aesthetic and honours her love for dark, gritty, metallic and industrial sounds melded with elements of funk, heavily influenced by second-wave Detroit artists, UK techno and music by some of her favourite artists; James Ruskin, Blawan and Surgeon. Kerrie's first release on DMF, 'Inner Space PT1', was praised by Resident Advisor, who credited her ability to make "lean, fierce techno that knows how to groove."

2022 was a watershed year for Kerrie's productions. She debuted on the monumental UK techno label Blueprint with her EP 'Raw Regimen', which landed acclaimed reviews. Truly welcomed to the Blueprint family, Kerrie shares her second EP on the label in May and joins the crew at Blueprint showcases around the globe. This year marks the release of Kerrie's 10th EP on vinyl, and considering her consistent output on DMF, Blueprint and many more labels, the producer shows no sign of slowing down.

Coming to international prominence in more recent years, regardless of her decade-long tenure in Manchester's vibrant scene, Kerrie is deeply invested in the culture of electronic music, starting from her teenage era as a raver in Ireland up to her innovative projects today. In 2017, she founded Eastern Bloc's in-house event space to nurture local talent, which remains at the heart of Manchester's music community. Having ended her 11-year stint at the shop in 2023 to fully commit to the studio and accommodate her increasingly busy tour schedule, Kerrie is forging a long-lasting path fuelled by drive, passion, authenticity and a community-first way of thinking. Makaton, who made his Blueprint debut in 2015 with ‘Nothing Can Be Held In Our Hands For Long’ as well as an appearance on this summer’s Blueprint anniversary compilation with the track ‘Slur’, now returns to the label with a 4-track EP, ‘When The Dead Rise From The Sea’. As expected from the Rodz-Konez label head, Makaton (Steve Bailey) who has also been delivering cutting-edge techno on Token and RSB like the recent ‘Defiler’ surrenders 4 categorical cuts of distortion and destruction. From the experimental introductory ‘Durdle Dor’ (named after the natural limestone arch on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset) Makaton sets the scene before launching into the foreboding rise of ‘High Priestess’. Flipping over, ‘Coast To Coast’ drives the EP onwards with deep techno beats before the refractory ‘Through Fire and Water’. ‘When The Dead Rise From The Sea’ is not just an EP to slaughter the dance floor but also a self contained slice of Makaton’s dark artistry which follows its concept throughout.

With over 30 releases on some of electronic music’s most celebrated and innovative labels such as Bpitch, Warp, Ghostly, Shitkatapult and Touchin' Bass as well as his own critically acclaimed Detroit Underground Records and Kerohand (with Kelli Hand), Kero has established a reputation for unrepentantly brash, yet cultivated compositions. Gotshell meanwhile, is a mysterious deep sound producer, formed in the dark and cold nights of Colombia’s Pereira. Delivering simple, straightforward, stripped down, cavernous techno without hype or fanfare, Gotshell has appeared on labels including Planet Rhythm, Nachtstrom Schallplatten and Kero’s Detroit Underground. Combining their talents for Blueprint 20th anniversary year, we’re given four tracks of dark, thoughtful electronics from the sweeping soundscapes and deep beats of ‘Samaria District I’ to the looping sonics of ‘Operation’; and from the hushed experimental tones of ‘Ex Adenoma Pleomorfico’ to the EP’s dense and dubby closer, ‘Perindsor’.

Blueprint are pleased to announce 'Pluralism', the latest EP from Berlin based techno protagonist and Blueprint affiliate Sigha. Sigha is a name that has become synonymous with forward thinking techno and electronic music. His interest in immersive sound design and experimentation combined with a staunchly British take on the genre have helped him carve a unique path through a densely populated field. Having first cut his teeth on acclaimed imprint Hotflush Recordings as well as his own branded label Our Circula Sound, Sigha then fomented a relationship with Blueprint since his 2011 EP I Am Apathy, I Am Submission. Now 2015 sees a return to Blueprint with ‘Pluralism’. Opening track, ‘Pluralism’ is rife with melodic glitches and punchy bass. Renowned New York City house music icon Joaquin Joe Claussell has embarked on an electrifying project of ecstatic, spiritual club music with his latest endeavor: a double album worth of reinterpretations of the music from Italian jazz master Nicola Conte's 2023 album Umoja.

Claussell's collaboration with Nicola Conte and Far Out Recordings helps mark the label’s 30th anniversary, as Claussell joins fellow producers such as Theo Parrish, Ron Trent, Kenny Dope and 4hero in remixing music from the label’s catalogue.

Extending the tracks from Umoja for full length, dance-floor focused mixes, Claussell has accentuated the original music’s global, afro-futurist vision with comprehensive rearrangements - featuring additional percussion, guitars, keyboards, synthesizers and drum programming - excavating the source music and re-recording many of its parts under the auspices of his Sacred Music & Cosmic Arts banner.

Nicola Conte - Umoja (Joaquin Joe Claussell Sacred Rhythm Music & Cosmic Arts Remixes) releases on double vinyl LP, CD and digitally on 28th June 2024 on Far Out Recordings.

Joe raids the vaults of the legendary Savoy Records, the Strictly Rhythm of Gospel music! On the A-Side he takes the mid-tempo stomper 'So Much to Live For' by Myrna Summers and invokes the holy ghost, fortifying the drums and rearranging the vocals so you are left humming the chorus long after it has ended. The hook 'So Much to Live For' in itself sums up all of the 'Praise' series, a cry to instill hope and meaning in what is often perceived as the mundane of daily life. Chontane delivers six dynamic techno cuts via his 'Sycamore' EP on Mutual Rytm.

A firm fixture of the VOLTAGE roster and a rising name originating from Ukraine making an impact, Berlin-based DJ and producer Chontane is quickly finding his feet following a string of EPs via ARTS, Lobster Theremin and Rekids Special Projects. Already playing key clubs at the age of just 18, blurring the lines between techno, breaks and electro with his growing trademark sound, his performances across Berlin and beyond have captured the attention of many as he showcases his up-front and powerful sound. Next, he heads to SHDW & Obscure Shape's Mutual Rytm imprint for the first time as he reveals his six-track 'Sycamore' EP.

Lead cut 'Preserved' is a rugged yet soulful opener, settling into a rolling groove guided by crisp hats and sharp stabs, while 'Arakis' propels into more eerie and menacing spheres as waling vocals emerge and disappear into the track's relentless dynamic. Electronic music composer David Morley returns to De:tuned with the live recorded 'Fashion' EP. In the early 90s Belgian fashion designer Dirk Bikkembergs reached out to David Morley to ask if he could create a special piece of music for the Paris Fashion Week.
