Kerri Chandler’s Kaoz Theory returns mid April with Satoshi Tomiie’s ‘Immersed’ EP, made up of three originals from the Japanese artist.
Satoshi Tomiie has long been a respected figure in the electronic music scene with a career spanning three decades and material on some of the industries most respected imprints, from his debut on FFRR alongside Frankie Knuckles and his contributions to the esteemed Renaissance mix series through to his more recent output on the likes of Yoyaku’s Yoyakuza and his own Abstract Architecture. Here though we see him making a welcome return to Kerri Chandler’s Kaoz Theory following 2017’s ‘512’ EP.
‘65Hz’ leads and sets the tone via glitched out, modulating percussion, murky synth swells and choppy stab sequences before ‘Coincidence’ lays focus on airy dub stabs, a snaking bass groove and crunchy drums.
Title-cut ‘Immersed’ then rounds out the release with shuffled percussion, weighty lowend tones and an amalgamation of dynamic, resonant synth lines, which wind their way in and out of the composition.

UPC : 827170594968 - 2LP Vinyl, Second Full length Album of Satoshi Tomiie 25 Years after "Tears" - on new label Abstract Architecture
Tracklist LP: A1.Thursday, 2AM , A2. Momento Magico - B1. New Day Feat. John Schmersal , B2. Landscape - C1. 0814, C2.Wave Side Back - D1. Cucina Rossa , D2. Last Night (In this dream I watched a film of a dream within this dream)
More than 25 years after releasing his debut single and dancefloor anthem 'Tears' Satoshi Tomiie is set to release his second album in May. This legendary collaboration with Frankie Knuckles, that's now considered as one of house music's most important moments, was only the start of an exciting career. Satoshi Tomiie has been at the forefront of the global house music movement ever since. He released on a variety of labels going from Strictly Rhythm to Sony, toured with the Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto of Yellow Magic Orchestra Fame, worked with artists like Robert Owens, remixed many pop inclined tracks and been praised for his Renaissance compilation in their Master Series. All of this while creating artistic challenges for himself to avoid stepping into a pattern and repeating himself, and keeping up constant global DJ schedule.
Satoshi Tomiie, a lifelong student of jazz and classical piano, has always succeeded in adding an extra dimension into his music, and his sophomore album is no exception. While listening to 'New Day' it is immediately clear the accomplished musician has re-invented himself once again. The overall sound of the album is crisp, fresh and ingenious without losing its allure. While some tracks are reminiscent of his early work, others surprise in their richness and complexity. The album starts off with ‚Last Night', a generous intro that leads us to ‚Landscape' and ‚Oddyssey' during which the producer shows us a more undulate timbre. The title track features John Schmersal, a touring member of the Caribou band and is the prelude to the deeper part of the album. To conclude a very narrative-oriented album he starts off with Sinfonia, an instrumental overture to the epic and beautiful ‚Cucina Rossa' where he once again shows his rich background as a trained musician.
With 'New Day' Satoshi Tomiie has redefined the creative process that surrounds the production of a full-length album. He wanted to stray away from the norm of albums made up entirely of singles. This is what made the long player a culmination of the styles that have influenced Tomiie throughout his illustrious career compiled into a seamless story.
The album will be available in all formats. Ranging from digital, vinyl and CD to a limited batch of cassettes. Limited vinyl samplers featuring reworks by Ron Trent, Fred P, Chez Damier, Brawther, Mayaan Nidam, DJ Sneak and more will be released in the following weeks.

Tracklist: A1.Thursday 2 AM - A2.Thursday 2AM (RonTrent Remix Dub) - B1. 0814 - B2. 0814 (DJ Sneak Dubby Beats Mix)
Shortinfo: Satoshi Tomiie will release his new album 'New Day' on his own newly inaugurated label Abstract Architecture. The new music will be introduced first on a limited edition vinyl only sampler, with two album cuts and remixes by his longtime heroes Ron Trent and DJ Sneak.
The A side features 'Thursday 2 AM' and Ron Trent's Remix Dub. The original highlights Larry Heard's influence on Satoshi's early days as late 80s house producer, with a classic sounding bassline and synth pads. It gives the legendary Ron Trent the perfect tools to deliver a timeless production - in fact, he liked it so much he made three different versions.
The B side shows a slightly different sound with two versions of '0814'. The original, an energetic DJ tool made after a particularly inspiring club show, was simply asking for a DJ Sneak remix. The house heavyweight immerses it in his signature sound adding a dubby feel to the original.

Aus Music non-stop. Not quite content with already chalking up two of the biggest EPs of 2013 so far from Midland and Dusky, Aus return once again with yet another release you’ve been waiting for - the return of Belfast’s biggest sons, Bicep. The London-based duo of Andrew Ferguson and Matthew McBriar had a breakthrough year in 2012, four years after the pair's Feel My Bicep blog first began. The past year has seen them play in more than a dozen countries, including major gigs across the US, China and, more recently, Australia, with particular highlights including a peak time set at Berlin’s haloed Panorama Bar and capacity crowds at both Sub Club and Trouw. In addition to the release of “You/ Don’t” on Aus, the boys also inaugurated their own imprint With the Visions Of Love EP, whilst "$tripper", which was released through Love Fever, came in at number 35 on RA's top 50 tracks of 2012 poll. Further to that they scooped the award for DJ Mag’s Best Breakthrough DJ, supplied Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space show with an exclusive mix of unreleased material, remixed Ripperton’s “Let’s Hope,” and all the while maintaining the DJ treasure trove that is their blog. Across the EP they take things a little deeper, delving into a different area of their own personal taste. What's presented is an overall more lo-fi style and broader approach, drawing from a wide range of influences including King Street Sounds, HBO's The Wire and Aphex Twin. More

Metronomy release their third album, 'The English Riviera' on April 11th through Because Music. The follow up to 2008's critically acclaimed 'Nights Out', 'The English Riviera' is a sonic progression of epic proportions and affirms Metronomy front man and producer, Joseph Mount, as a rare British talent.
Since 'Nights Out', the band have swollen to a four piece with new members Anna Prior on drums, Gbenga Adelekan on bass, original member Oscar Cash on keys/sax, and Joe himself on vocals, keys and guitar. This expansion of personnel is reflective of a new record that is mapped by vast soundscapes, incredible depth and warmth, and big pop hooks
Part love letter to the area of Devon coast Mount grew up in and part concept album about his own semi-fictionalised vision of "The English Riviera", the tone for the album is set by the opening sounds of seagulls, distant waves and a Music Hall string quartet. However, any notion of whimsy is swiftly dispelled, as the seismic bass line of 'We Broke Free' shudders and ushers in waves of layered guitars and synths.
Having produced and remixed everyone from Roots Manuva to Kate Nash and the forthcoming album from Nicola Roberts, this is the first Metronomy album that Mount has taken out of his bedroom and recorded in a proper studio. The results are telling.
Characterised throughout with a sense of warmth and richness, 'The English Riviera' is in parts reminiscent of seminal 1970s West Coast studio albums from the likes of Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles, but due to Mount's studio wizardry, the record sounds vibrant and entirely of its time.
Few other albums released this year will so successfully transcend such a plethora of influences and ideas and form such a coherent body of work.

Release Info:
Disco Club is a groundbreaking 1978 EP of experimental electronic disco created by Bernard Fevre and his collaborator under their tongue-in-cheek aliases Joachim Sherylee and Junior Claristidge. The Aphex Twin-backed Rephlex label notably reworked a handful of Disco Club tracks in 2004, however this is the first ever reissue of the EP in its complete, originally intended sequence. So synonymous is Fèvre's career with this release, he continues to perform internationally as Black Devil Disco Club today. An impossibly rare piece, this edition has been treated to a remaster from the original tapes by Fèvre himself. More

DJ Koze - Pick Up (12" Extended Disco Version)
2
DJ Koze - The Love Truck
2023 repress
Tracklist
A. Pick Up (12" Extended Disco Version)
B. The Love Truck
DJ Koze might be one of the world's best producers, but above all he's a DJ, and it's his DJ ear that governs. Just as in a great set, so with his releases: "Seeing Aliens" came out of nowhere, a big buzzing beast of a track, to announce that Koze was back on the scene and prime everyone for the coming album, knock knock. But now that Koze has your attention, it's time to remind everyone what's most important about club music, pull things back, take a turn to the left, and get deep into the groove.
Thus "Pick Up": the second single from knock knock is 100% pure groove, doubly so in the extended 12" version. In a sense it's incredibly familiar - it is essentially a filter disco record, very close to something you could imagine coming out of Paris around the turn of the millennium. But of course, this is Koze. Nothing is normal or familiar in his world, and he's taken this most foundational of clubland staples into new territory. Flipping samples of Gladys Knight & the Pips "Neither One Of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye)" and Melba Moore's "Pick Me Up, I'll Dance", it creates something completely airborne, shot through with emotions such as gods must feel: not quite explicable to the human mind but strong enough to knock you off your feet. In its way it's absolutely as powerful as "Seeing Aliens", but it comes in like the proverbial iron fist in a glove of velvet.
The flip, a ten-minute new track, "The Love Truck" is a big contrast again. If "Pick Up" is giddy flight, "The Love Truck" is woozy floating. Its sharp, clicking percussion recalls 2000s minimal techno, but this time absolutely nothing is generic. The long, intense, on-and-off bass tones, the flickers of birdsong, the pure voices slipping in backwards as if from the future... it's all like the most blissful dream, and culminates in a coda so subtle yet so beautiful it's like ever time you've ever seen the sun rise and thought "I never want this to end", all the while understanding deep down that the fleeting nature of the pleasure is also what give it its power. But of course, being created with that consummate DJ's ear, it's also full of the thrill of wondering what Koze has in store next.

The new album, Love Letters, has a title that speaks volumes about sensations and modes of communication, about things that have always been there, and will always be here.
It's no coincidence either. This is a record that wants to be timeless.
In its execution, Love Letters tries to do fresh things in an old-fashioned way. It takes richer methods of recording and injects them with the shock of the new - of tight electronics, and experiments in sound. It does so not to be retro, but to embrace the quality standards of the past. It also aims to be up there with the greats, reaching for those old stars.

1. The Upsetter

3. Monstrous
4. Love Letters
5. Month Of Sundays
6. Boy Racers
7. Call Me
8. The Most Immaculate Haircut

RE-RELEASE! No one can say they didn’t see these two brats coming! Justice, who’s name the world (well at least that part of the world that loves to dance) chants with emotion and whose first album is awaited with bated breath ever since the French duo revolutionised dancefloors with two radically different hits. It comes as no surprise that «†», the first album by Justice, is a fantastic treat for the ears and for the feet. A kind of musical opera marked with religious and baroque symbols, where the melodies are ripped to shreds by the beats, where electro teaches rock a lesson and where pop gets a botox injection.

DJ Koze - Seeing Aliens (Extended Breakthrough Version)
2
DJ Koze - Nein König Nein
2023 repress
Tracklist:
A. Seeing Aliens (Extended Breakthrough Version)
B. Nein König Nein
Info:
DJ Koze exists both above and beyond club culture as we know it - his albums and remixes flying free from genre and trend - and symbiotically woven into its heart. Yes, he always abstracts and weirds out the principles of house, techno, hip hop, pop, psychedelia, exotica and so forth, but he does that because he understands them. And when it comes to club-demolishing tracks, he understands those principles as well as just about anybody on earth.
Thus he could create an enduring club tune like 2015's "XTC" that is strange, contemplative, even disturbing, bore little relation to anything around at the time, yet still got bodies moving and sweating better than way more obvious techno bangers. And thus the Knock Knock album, which melts a million genres and none into one another, can comfortably include "Seeing Aliens".
"Seeing Aliens" unquestionably is a banger, its bass riff snaking around your body like a python, its high-drama strings, pianos and outbursts of noise designed for maximum crowd pressure release. But, again, it sounds like nothing else, and its dynamics and twists unfold over eight and a half minutes in ways that will mess with your head every time no matter how many times you hear it.
The exclusive b-side track, "Nein König Nein" ("No King No"!), meanwhile, is slightly gentler on the face of it: it's less about sonic pressure, more about hip-shaking syncopation. But it too tells strange fairytales in its peculiar and brain-tweaking accumulation of detail, and though you'll hear archetypal sounds from the heart of house and disco in it, every last one of them becomes new and otherworldly.
