This is Nala Sinephro's debut original film score, for Benny Safdie's The Smashing Machine, which was premiered at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival (to a 15min standing ovation!!) ahead of its official release on October 3rd. The Smashing Machine explores the story of legendary mixed martial arts & UFC fighter Mark Kerr, and it stars Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Academy Award nominee Emily Blunt. The score was composed, produced, arranged, mixed and mastered by Nala Sinephro, and it features performances by longstanding collaborators James Mollison, Nubya Garcia, Lyle Barton, Dwayne ‘Wonky Logic’ Kilvington, Morgan Simpson, Natcyet Wakili, Mark Mollison and Sheila Maurice-Grey. As well as the London orchestra Orchestrate, who previously provided strings for Sinephro’s 2024 critically acclaimed album, Endlessness.

MAFIA may be a name you dont recognise straight away... but I know you all know of DJ Vern & DJ Ash on Tearin Vinyl that we repressed back in 2019. And you may recall a couple of years ago the Big Vern release that we did too... and the real spotters will recognise the track 'Say It Loud' as that appeared on the Big Vern release (copies still in stock).
Vern was a resident DJ on London pirate Weekend Rush plus he was the head honcho over at World Bass Records from the mid 90's too. He is one of the great jungle innovators from the 90's who used his knowledge as a DJ and applied it in the studio, creating many anthems.
This release was originally pressed in 1995 on World Bass Records and we are super excited to be able to repress it 30 years later!

It’s been over 20 years since Kenny Dixon Jr., better known as Moodymann, released Black Mahogani—an album rich in atmosphere and emotion, offering a quintessential journey through deep house, soul, and jazz. Originally released in 2004, Black Mahogani is arguably one of Moodymann’s most revered and sought-after works. Bodhi, the Cardiff-based production team, return to Hotflush Recordings with a follow-up to last year’s standout Laurus Ascending extended play. Texas-born, London-based Lance DeSardi has remastered his classic 2013 cut 'The Power Of Suggestion' which was notably included on Carl Craig's masterful three-CD mix for Ministry of Sound. It's an organic sound with deft synth motifs and rolling drums topped with airy vocals and wispy melodies. The flip side offers a 2025 live version that is more driving and club-ready but still with the same majestic art of melody and outdoor serenity.
