Danny Howells debuts on Rekids with the ‘Throb’ EP. The legendary DJ’s DJ first EP for Radio Slave’s imprint sees him pair with keyboard player Elliott Herrington. Howells, a quietly revered figure in house music since the mid ‘90s, delves deep across the ‘Throb’ EP, which celebrates subtle drum programming, otherworldly keys and soundscapes throughout. The cossetting warmth of ‘Throb’, a track which tips the smallest of nods to Danny’s role in the heyday of progressive house, was born out of a late-night studio session - long forgotten about and then rediscovered, re-appraised, as so many great tracks are. ‘Thrunk’, another supremely heady cut, follows and sees keys slide around the mix, modulated and tweaked just enough to create a constant feeling of movement without losing balance, firmly rooted by a bassline that Howells, contrary to his usual practice, wrote first. Danny Howells is a darling of British dance music. Emerging in the late 1990s with the likes of the era-defining Jackpot Records, his journey in dance music has always been about music, which has seen him eschew frantic touring and production schedules in favour of doing what he loves. Kiko Navarro & Pere Navarro land on Radio Slave’s Rekids with their ?rst-ever EP, ‘Les Cousins’. Their debut release counts three tracks, merging infectious House grooves with Pere’s Jazz-in?ected trumpet solos for a stylish EP rooted in classic sounds, yet with a distinct modern edge to it. Both hailing from the Balearic Islands, Kiko, a seasoned DJ and producer from Mallorca with music on King Street Sounds, Pacha Recordings, Shall Not Fade and more, and Pere, a multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer from Ibiza. Despite sharing a last name, the pair are not related, meeting for the ?rst time at a private party where Pere spontaneously joined Kiko’s DJ set on trumpet, after which their partnership continued when Kiko invited Pere to record a trumpet solo for a Louie Vega remix, leading up to the creation of their debut ‘Les Cousins’ EP, landing on Rekids this May.

Oliver Dollar presents Contemporary Part Three on Rekids The third instalment features collaborations with Ben Silver, Boogs, and Hazmat, and features Apropos and Boog Brown. Berlin’s Oliver Dollar unveils part three of his ‘Contemporary’ series, releasing on Radio Slave’s Rekids 4th April 2025 and following up last year’s parts one and two, which featured the likes of Harvard Bass, Brillstein, ADMN, and Austin Ato, and won support from the likes of Nightmares On Wax, Anja Schneider, Laurent Garnier, Carista, Jennifer Cardini, Dam Swindle, and more. Part three of Contemporary sees Oliver Dollar invite another cast of hotly tipped collaborators, kicking offthe EP with Melbourne DJ and producers Ben Silver and Boogs - both resident DJs at Revolver Upstairs - for ‘Cosmic Weapon’. Their track features lush, poignant chords underpinned by a rolling groove, with vocal samples warped, chopped, and sliced above for a mind-melting trip. Up next, ‘What Cha’ Gonna Do?’ sees Dollar team up with Apropos, whose inimitable voice previously featured on ‘Contemporary Part One’, and talented Detroit vocalist and Dilla’s Delights’ Boog Brown for a soulful duet. Last up is another Motor City link-up featuring Hazmat Live on production alongside Oliver Dollar for the infectious House energy of ‘Ought To Be Love’, joined by the earworm vocals of Members of the House front vocalist William Beaver, aka Billy Love, known for his work bringing Motown-style gospel vocals to Techno and House with notable Detroit artists like JeffMills, Theo Parrish, Moodymann, Kevin Saunderson, and many more. Bushwacka’s ?rst release for Radio Slave’s Rekids, the ‘Heaven On Earth’ EP, is out on October 11th 2024 and sees the UK House and Breakbeat innovator deliver two tracks complete with versions. Title track ‘Heaven On Earth’ is a slice of low-slung House in which a drawling spoken-word vocal about love for music dominates. It’s a track with the sort of cast-iron, funky groove that has permeated Bushwacka’s music since day one. The ‘Instadub’ dubs out the vocals and takes ‘Heaven On Earth’ in a heady direction. On the flip, Version One and Version Two of ‘Roger That’ see Bushwacka drop ?nely tuned funk-infused Deep House, with the former treading an earthy heads-down path while the latter ups the melody, chord and vocal sample prominence, creating a restrained euphoria throughout. Bushwacka, aka Matthew Benjamin or Matthew B/Just Be/Makesome Breaksome and countless other aliases, has been a pivotal part of the electronic music scene for over 30 years. While his wildly successful project with Layo Paskin as Layo & Bushwacka! is his most prominent, this former London School Symphony Orchestra percussionist’s roots go much deeper. A pioneer of the nascent Rave and Acid House scenes who went on to be one of the progenitors of Tech House and UK Breakbeat scenes, Bushwacka’s in?uence is huge but far from static, with releases on the likes of Classic, Aus and NuGroove in the past few years alone.

One half of iconic British duo Basement Jaxx Felix Buxton and vocalist Gia make their Defected debut with the soul-stirring ‘So Hooked On Your Lovin’, alongside two groove-loaded remixes by Mousse T.. Tiger Stripes debuts on Rekids with ‘I Heard It Through the Bassline’.

Stockholm’s Tiger Stripes appears on Matt Edwards’ Rekids for the first time with the ‘I Heard It Through The Bassline’ two-tracker. The EP starts with the aptly named title track, defined by its deeply infectious bass, which propels forward along tight house grooves and classy gospel vocals. ‘I Heard It Through the Bassline’ is followed by Tiger Stripes’ ‘Everybody’s Doing It’, a stylish, low-slung people mover with the air of a vibey, dim-lit establishment or introspective late-night journey through the city.

Strange Idols label founder Tiger Stripes is a prolific producer, remixer, and DJ who has been active since the early 2000s. He’s collaborated with artists like Kerri Chandler and Jerome Sydenham and released music via heavyweight underground imprints, including Hot Creations, Get Physical, and Sydenham’s Ibadan. Now, he moves the needle again with the ‘I Heard It Through the Bassline’ EP on Rekids.

One of the keys to Nervous’ longevity has been our willingness to take chances on new producers and new sounds. As long as a track contains the essence of House, we encourage producers to experiment with combining House with other musical genres. And if the results are creative and fruitful enough we are always ready, willing and able to create a new sub label and logo to go along with a fresh sound. In the 90’s we felt a movement toward House being juiced with Jazz elements and we created the Nervous Chill Sub-label. Now all these years later we are once again seeing a new appreciation for the sounds, flow and energy of Jazz on the part of some of the world’s premier House Music Producers, and so we are embarking on a re-launch of the Nervous Chill imprint. Onboard for the re-launch is the very talented and dynamic producer Felipe Gordon with the two tracks “Elisa” and “Resonant.” Both songs feature the legendary musician Paul Shapiro, who has played a key musical role in many of House Music’s most celebrated tunes including “The Whistle Song” for which he supplied the eponymous “whistle.” “Elisa” features an uplifting and bouncy rhythmic vibe that’s topped and energized with Paul’s jazzy flute, while “Resonant” has a deeper and slightly more aggressive tone that’s propelled with Paul hypnotic and free wheeling sax instrumentation.

Sonlight were originally known as The Elements, formed at Patrick Henry Junior High school, Cleveland, ohio. in the late 60s. The Band leader was Mark Anthony, with members Ulysses Barnes, Enos Scott, and Ronald Sims. Mark sang and wrote most of the songs with help from the band members. They cut their first single for Del-Nita Records in 1970 after which moved to Soul Collector favourite Saru records, recording a few nice singles for the label. In 1974 they released "Spinning Top" on Atlantic Records under the band name Moving Violation, after which a another name change leads us to Sonlight and this single which was originally recorded released on the Spearhead label. Modern Soul, Disco heads have always coveted this rare single, reissued here for the first time, in hand made sleeve for this press only.
