Following up on his much acclaimed debut album ‘Opal’ released in 2022, Batu heads into a new year introducing A Long Strange Dream : a new imprint dedicated to his spontaneous musical explorations, conceived with the aim to follow curiosities and share his own music in a back-to-basics and spontaneous fashion.

The inaugural release « For Spirits » is packed with some of the Bristol based producer’s most psychedelic dancefloor studies to date. Flowing seamlessly as a whole piece, this long-form EP showcases Batu’s versatile and deep personal sound, as well as a riveting talent for electronic experiments ranging from trance-inducing ambient to peak-time techno wreckage. Omar McCutcheon, operating under his Batu alias, has been on the frontline of Bristol’s innovative electronic music scene since 2013. In 2015 he founded his record label Timedance, a platform for showcasing his tastes utilising a close knit group of young producers and DJs. More

Having previously used their dnuoS ytiviL offshoot to release material from their nearest and dearest (think Batu, Bruce, Hodge and Alex Coulton), Bristol's Livity Sound crew turns to unknown French producer Simo Cell. The two tracks showcased here are a rather fine introduction to this newcomer, with opener "Piste Jaune" offering a clandestine blend of stuttering electro bass, discordant analogue percussion hits and spooky electronics. The mystery man goes for the jugular on "Cellar Door", with pitched-down, bleep style melodies and liquid electronics riding an off-kilter, broken techno groove. Another fine Livity release. More

Following on from the success of their self titled label compilation in October, the Livity Sound collective returns for a final transmission in 2013 courtesy of their sister label dnuoS ytiviL. (pronounced ‘Livity Sound’, if you were wondering…) A strictly underground operation, it’s manifesto is to release music with a shared aesthetic to it’s parent label and it did just that earlier in the year, delivering two dancefloor bombs by Manchester’s Alex Coulton in the form of the ‘War Games’ / ‘Pointe Noire’ 12”. ‘Spooked’ and ‘Clarity (Dismantled)’ are both produced by new UK based artist Batu whose signature alien dub dance and snaking hypnotic rhythmic styles reflect the mutating underground UK and round off a killer year for the label as a whole. This 12” follows on from Batu’s debut vinyl release on Pinch’s Cold Recordings label. More

Record producer, composer, singer, and pioneer of the dub music genre Lee Scratch Perry passed away in August 2021. Conceived, written and recorded during the COVID pandemic, ‘King Perry’ was produced by Daniel Boyle, and features guest performances from Greentea Peng, Shaun Ryder, Tricky, Marta, Rose Waite and Fifi Rong. Two tracks were also co-produced with Tricky, who releases Perry’s last recorded performances on his False Idols label

Comprised of Vancouver producers and multi-instrumentalists Nick Wisdom and Astrological, Canadian duo Potatohead People boast a number of noteworthy accolades thanks to a their signature sound drawing influences from 90's boom-bap, future soul, classic jazz, deep house and boogie/funk. Beginning with a series of EP's, including their landmark "Kosmichemusik" EP, Potatohead People's productions quickly made their way to artists like Illa J who tapped the duo to produce his now critically acclaimed self-titled album, as well as producers like Kaytranada (who co-produced Illa J's "Strippers" with the pair).
