Dele Sosimi, the Nigerian-British Afrobeat Ambassador, Musician and Educator, has been at the heart of the global Afrobeat scene since relocating to the UK in December 1995. Having started his musical career with Fela's Egypt 80 band in his teens, he then teamed up with childhood friend Fela's son Femi Kuti (back in the late eighties) to kick-start the Positive Force - touring, recording and performing worldwide. Over forty years later, he remains a tireless ambassador for the unique musical movement all over the world. His blend of complex funk grooves, traditional Nigerian music, African percussion and an underlying sense of jazz combines with his virtuoso keyboard skills and rhythmic singing to make him one of the most respected Afrobeat authorities of his era.
Dele is a master of various live configurations, each offering a truly authentic and powerful Afrobeat sound and keeps him active. These days, his mesmeric performances are mainly with the full eight to fifteen-piece Dele Sosimi Afrobeat Orchestra (DSAO), a distilled six or seven-piece Dele Sosimi Afrobeat Experience (DSAE) and the Dele Sosimi Afrobeat Sextet, Quintet & Quartet which features the heartbeat of DSAO in a semi acoustic format with Dele on piano alongside Suman Joshi on Double Bass, Afla Sackey on Congas/percussion and Kunle Olofinjana on Drums.
"The love and passion I have for composing, writing, performing and teaching Afrobeat Music is my main motivation," says Dele, adding; "my aim is to build upon the rich heritage of music worldwide by creating opportunities for young people to learn. I want them to experience Afrobeat forms of music and music-making activities that will expand knowledge and broaden the horizons of the musicians, young or old.
Turbulent Times, the Joaquin Joe Claussell Remixes, were actually created over 10 years ago. But this is not all that surprising if you are one those who have inside knowledge of his production habits; Truth is, Joaquin's productions are created 5 years ahead of their actual release. What's most interesting now, however, is the timing of this release. Having recently gone through a few years of extremes, not least of a global pandemic, instigating more confusion and chaos, these series of remixes are right on time, and the original album version is way ahead of its time. Originally released on CD with what began as a story told by a foreigner of
how the discovery of music while living in New York has provided her with a
sense of purpose and freedom that was before then unknown to her; The
composition featuring the very talented “Yumi Korusawa” on Japanese
Koto, and tilted “It All Began in The East” - originally released as cosmic
journey into the mind and soul; received the remix treatment by Joaquin Joe
Claussell.
The results are an up tempo afro jazz composition that aside from it resting
on the support of afro percussive rhythms; musically speaking, the
composition is elevated by a dope musical orchestration that is expected of
Joe Claussell deliver. Also included on the 12” ep is another hot
composition remixed by Joaquin’ Remix of the titled “A Dance for
Gratitude.” A dope remix that resembles Joaquin’s Cult Classic afro jam “Je
Ka Jo.” All in all, this is defifinitely a 12” EP that will be played for a very long
time to come.

Included with this package are extended DJ Versions that have been played and tested by the likes of Joaquin Joe Claussell, Timmy Registford, Louie Vega and Ron Trent to name a few. Also Included are two of Joe Claussell’s eagerly anticipated secret weapons. The Long versions of “Mofo Congoietric” and “Hillbilly Afrika” The Package also contains the highly sought-after Dub Mix of “Bambara.” Until now this version was released back in the day only as a limited 12”. We heard all the request for a repress and so here it will come. And Now for the Fun Part...We placed inside each LP package A Special Individualized Download Code, which will lead to one of 10 individually mixed versions of a track from the Album, which will be mixed specific only to the code found. Also amongst the 300 records produced there will exist only 25 Unique codes. Recorded in a remote cabin on the Devon coast, STILL OUT is an album-length collaboration between musician-filmmakers – and childhood friends – Will Cookson and Tom Haverly. A reflection on friendship, landscape and the passing of time, it inspired a road trip from North Yorkshire to North Devon they took together in the summer of 2024, and forms the soundtrack to a film of the same name which had its premiere screening as part of Stroud Film Festival in March 2025.
Like the film, STILL OUT is also an oblique homage to The KLF’s iconic 1990 album Chill Out, which the Gloucestershire-based pair revisited after it turned up unexpectedly a few years back in Tom’s dad’s record collection. Inspired to create their own recording using a similarly free-spirited process, Will and Tom relocated to the Devon coast in late summer 2023, splicing together a 40-minute mix from their personal archive of recordings and found sounds in a remote cabin with no electricity or mobile reception.
"It came together using cut-and-paste techniques, with ongoing shifts and tweaks,” says Will. “The final result was an audio collage that felt like something [legendary hip hop producers] The Bomb Squad might make - if ambient music was the only material in their sample library."
Using ‘ambient’ as a starting-point rather than an end in itself, they took inspiration from across the musical spectrum – classic-period Brian Eno, Philip Glass, Bill Evans, plus outliers such as 80s singer-songwriter Virginia Astley and the late DJ-producer Andrew Weatherall. The connections, though, are anything but obvious as the audio shifts seamlessly from field recordings and spoken-word interludes to mood pieces and snatches of vintage pop.
Edited and assembled using freely available open source programs, the source material was often radically altered using tools such as “PaulStretch”, a digital sound-morphing algorithm that allows users to stretch audio files to extreme lengths.
"When we found ourselves in a creative slump or unsure how to navigate a tricky part, we'd say, ‘Let's put some syrup on it and slow it down,’” says Tom. “That always helped us get back on track during late-night recording sessions at the cabin."
Part-soundtrack, part-meditative experiment, STILL OUT is intended as a reflection on the mental and emotional shift that occurs when stepping away from the routine of daily life – an album that forms a celebration of our ever-changing relationship to the world around us and the mystery of what it means to pass through time and space.

Following the release of his fifth studio album ‘Magickal’ at the start of the year, Damian Lazarus now opens a new chapter in the project’s evolution with ‘Magickal Remixed (Part I)’, this first instalment of the two-part series features bold reimagining’s from Harry Romero, Jonathan Kaspar, THEMBA and Mëstiza, offering four fresh takes on standout cuts from the acclaimed long-player. The package opens with Harry Romero’s ‘Raw Dog’ remix of ‘R U Dreaming?’, originally a deeply introspective cut featuring Canadian maestro Mathew Jonson. Here, the New York favourite dials up the low-end pressure and rhythmic weight, bringing raw tribal energy and heavyweight swing to the original’s dreamlike tones. Jonathan Kaspar’s ‘Sunrise Remix’ of ‘Falling Down’, Lazarus’ collaboration with TEED and A-Trak, comes next. Channelling radiant euphoria through rising pads and sweeping melodic phrasing, it leans into the emotional intensity of the original while transforming it into a full-blown moment of sunrise transcendence. On the B Side THEMBA delivers striking remix of Damian Lazarus and Jem Cooke’s ‘Searchin’. HEMBA’s remix builds on that foundation and takes it into expansive, Afro-infused club territory, layering hypnotic percussion, deep rolling grooves, and subtle atmospheric shifts that heighten the emotion and push the track into new late-night spaces. Closing out the release, Spanish duo Mëstiza return to reinterpret their collaboration with the Crosstown head honcho, ‘La Hija De Juan Simón’. Expanding on the track’s flamenco-inspired roots, they layer hand-played percussion, haunting vocal flourishes, and dense atmospheres into a hypnotic, slow-burning groove, bridging folklore and futurism in their unmistakable style.

Only released in October 2006, Anders Trentemøller‘s stunning debut-album „The Last Resort“ already evolved into one of the most successful independent albums of the year. Raving reviews all over the place, various elections as „album of the year“ and solid playlists at the radios express the huge interest in the fantastic album. While 2006 has been topped of with a tour through Australia, the first Trentemøller highlight in 2007 will be the release of „Moan“, the second single from the album. For the a-side Trentemøller himself created a brilliant remix of the „Moan“-Vocal Version, which has been released on the Bonus-CD of the limited edition album only. Trentemøller managed to keep the mystic melancholic vibe of the track featuring the vocals of danish talent Ane Trolle, but adds punshy drums, screaming synths and some more guitars to guarantee serious dancefloor-action. Radioslave aka Matt Edwards aka Rekid aka Quite Village, on of the most in demand remix artists at the moment (Moby, Booka Shade, Justice, Peace Division, Pet Shop Boys, Joakim etc) contributed a great remix on the flipside. Slowly building over reduced drumpatterns their mix culminates into a manic wall of sound. While Poker Flat 81 features the vocal versions of both Trentemøller‘s and Radioslve‘s remixes, the instrumental and dub versions will be released simultaneously
