The Swell EP follows a similar formula to release number five back in March. Three originals and two tool tracks all from label boss Mike Gervais. Many cut from the same cloth as release five. All good things we think. Elegant Restraint leaves the element stack slim and the sonic field open. Backed by a thumping kick and sputtering resonant basslines while familiar machine hats shimmer in and out. A distant synth stab brings the stereo breath into temporary view as the track steadily marches on.
Title track Swell give us more energy and pace than our A1 cut. Delayed synth dribbles chase each other around a heavy handed kick while one percussion element after another comes into play. An early string gives us a peek into what's coming before being chased out by stumbling syths and sharp clap patterns demanding your attention. Swell builds to a peak and breaks back into its heads down mode. One more energy push before she fades out just as she came in. Fist brings high energy pumping push-pull shuffled kicks and cutting synth stabs throughout the duration. A sonar ping rolls in and out of heaving kicks and synth notes while variations of hat percussion keep the energy moving. A mid track shift is anchored

2011 SYSTEM was started as a platform for underground music in Minneapolis. After many club, warehouse, and livestream events SYSTEM is now launching a record label for 2014. Behind You is the debut release from SYSTEM records, due out late May / early June on vinyl with digital to follow soon after. There will be a small 250 piece run of white vinyl inside record jackets designed and hand printed by local Minneapolis artists.

Alex Albrecht returns to Analogue Attic Recordings for the label's inaugural release of 2024.

An immersive exploration spanning house, downtempo, and ambient genres, Albrecht guides listeners through a ephemeral sonic journey. Characterised by trademark field recordings and enchanting piano motifs, 'Allambie' also integrates new hardware and synth sounds to Alex's palette.

Featuring electro-acoustic ventures such as 'Railbridge', warm pads breathing in and out, setting a dynamic tone, and then transitioning to the deeper sounds of 'Green Shade'. Sub-bass breaks and a more minor feel that adds complexity to the sonic landscape, 'Allambie' takes you on a journey from the boundary of the forest to its more mysterious, overgrown centre, a sonic narrative that captivates and intrigues.

We're not entirely sure who is behind this project. It is listed as their first ever EP under the name according to Discogs, though they have done bits under other names like Pyschfest and Snp 500. 'Fan Needed' is hot techno with stripped back drum sounds. snapping snares and oodles of dubby chords and water effects. It's a fresh and unusual sound that bangs. 'No Fan Needed' is another mix of brushed metal drum sounds and minimal rhythms that sweeps you up on waves of Detroit chords and dubby currents. Whoever is behind this, we hope to hear more.

The forever exploring electronical entity of a band, Gusgus, has opened yet a new era in their unique sonic multiverse. With their 12th album, the course is set to a strange mysterious place called DanceOrama. A Rave-Mall in a nostalgic future, DanceOrama is the place to be, where you can experience infinite freedom, genre and gender free. Moving from the pulsating new-wave influenced techno pop of the last album “Mobile Home” (2019), Gusgus emits the vibe of DanceOrama on their new album as an arousing, melody-rich hybrid of 80s/90s parties and raves. The 9- track album is slated for a November 10th release. The release is evenly split up in euphoric fusioned pop anthems and genre-free instrumental journeys.

Gusgus‘ last album “Mobile Home” was the later of twin albums that found the band exploring early 80’s new wave influences and reviving them in the iconic Gusgus soundscape. The highlight on the album was a pulsating techno reggae track called “Higher” that introduced a new member into the band, Margre´t Ra´n, the lead singer of “VO¨K”.

Whereas on “Mobile Home”, the concept was stationed in a rural environment of a dystopian side reality, Gusgus now moves to the city. In this city of strange discomforting future omens, DanceOrama stands out as the rave-mall of freedom. Leaving the new wave influences, this album is a strange hybrid of the 80’s and 90’s parties twisted into a genre-free blend of arousing experiences.

The album consists of 5 instrumental tracks and 4 vocal pop songs, ranging from 105-158 bpm and exploring various influences from the 80’s and 90’s and even the 70’s in a strange fusion of techno, trance, italo-disco, house and pop that emits the rawness and innocence of previous decades. The pop songs are quite strictly set as stories related to the mysteries and rumors of DanceOrama. One track in particular will be very exciting for our fans, as it has been a regular final track on our live show since the album “Arabian Horse” in 2011. This is the track “Breaking Down” that was recorded during the album “Mexico” in 2013 with “Earth” and “Ho¨gni” on vocals but, due to emotional turmoil, has never been released until now.
