Russian producer Rambal Cochet aka Volta Cab, an artist very much influenced by Goa Trance brings three new tracks with a sound that captivates us to that time, adding New Beat and EBM waves close to ‘Valencia Sound’ and its legendary ‘Ruta Destroy’. The record includes an absolute banger: a Kris Baha remix to burn the dancefloor, as usual.

Mastered by Alden Tyrell. This is a 300 copy edition on 140 gram black vinyl, in black card outer sleeve and black paper inner sleeve.

The new release from Aspecto Humano brings us a 12-inch by Gravedad Cinética, Electro project by Barcelona’s Adrián Costa AKA Groovycosta.

The vinyl consists of five tracks with Electro as the main protagonist, although it’s not the only one. Lines with blunt bass, a variety of arpeggios and outer space melodies, are all combined with 808 drums. It’s kinetic music that creates a retro-futurist sound landscape with touches of classic Techno.

On side A with ‘Peta Bytes’, which includes Antoni Maiovvi and Franck Kartell remixes, who are back on Aspecto Humano. On side B is included ‘Kites’ with a banger remix from the house by Anbau.

Directly from Brazil, Data Assault steps up to deliver a fast paced 5 track EP, featuring a remix from the outstanding Martinelli. The artist has a solid career of sonic experimentations that are fueled by a radical stance, with productions that inevitably find their way into clubs and sound systems all around the globe. Besides producing his own parties that have been making waves in the local scene in Brasilia.

"Dor e Miseria" is inspired by the Brazilian socio-political disaster which occured from 2018 to 2022, bringing beats treated with lots of compression and distortion, accompanied with aggressive vocal chops and melancholic pads. His fierce production style is joined by Martinelli, who's remix completes the picture and makes an interpretation that delivers everything with a simple approach, combining 808 drums, funky basslines and an impeccable percussive movement.

"Movida Pelo Odio" e "Euforia Sinistra" discharge influences from the dirtiest beats of Grime and 8-Bar Techno, with aggressive synths interspersed by acidic elements that dominate the sonic image of the EP. The last track "Furia Funk" closes with heavily compressed and saturated 909 drums, and 303 acid lines screaming loudly.

On his fifth album as VC-118A, Samuel van Dijk is using his evolved electro practice to explore the notion of change - a universal constant which keeps us barrelling towards unknown futures. 2021's Spiritual Machines found van Dijk edging his sound into downtempo and experimental pastures. On the follow-up, Waves of Change, crooked machine rhythms and richly developed tones and textures spool from his trusted bank of outboard tools, while a subtle drop in tempo widens the space for the atmospheric sound design to weave its magic. Balancing the disciplines of machine-powered sequencing and hand-shaped sound to render his ideas in sonic form, the continued evolution of VC-118A results in another mesmerising record steeped in craft and loaded with intention.

Nu Groove spotlights the artists that made the legendary NYC label a firm favourite of crate diggers then and now with a series of their vital tracks re-edited by leading industry figures and choice selectors of today.

‘Nu Groove Edits, Vol. 1’ celebrates the champion of that quintessential New York house sound, Rheji Burrell. Together with his twin Rhano, the Burrell brothers were instrumental in defining the sound of Nu Groove, often releasing under a slew of monikers, four of which appear here.

First up, the underground pioneer Bruise aka Christian Campbell takes on Burrell’s ‘Secret Code’ released under his Jazz Documents moniker. Anonymous Berlin duo Acid Jerks edit the deep house classic ‘Tech Trax Inc.’ by the eponymous pseudonym.

What follows is house purist Phil Weeks’ rework of Houz’ Neegroz ‘All Night Long’ featuring vocals from Quiana. Rounding out this eclectic collection of edits, the unstoppable production duo Honey Dijon & Luke Solomon take on the legendary track ‘APT. 2A’ that Burrell released as N.Y. House’n Authority.
