Barbara Lynn is a singer, songwriter and musician from a golden era of soul. On Soul Brother Records the success of "Movin' On A Groove" showed the popularity she retains, and Soul Brother's earlier coupling of "I'm A Good Woman" with "I Don't Want A Playboy" further illustrated this. "Mellow Feeling" was first issued in 1979. It's a lesser known track from the time, but is now more in demand than ever before. Original copies have exchanged hands for over £1,000. Very few of those are known to be in circulation, and it is very unusual for such a well-known and revered artist to have made such a rare record. That makes this an essential purchase for soul fans.

Soul Brother Records are delighted to reissue on vinyl for the first time one of the most in demand and best 'Holy Grail' Soul and Funk albums for RSD 2020. 'My Queen' by self-contained band Gaston was recorded in North Carolina in 1978 for the independent Hotlanta label and has been in demand for the last 30 years. The album consists of seven excellent Soul and Funk tracks including "Clap Song" sampled by Sporty Thievz in 1998 and the also sampled two stepper "My Dreams". Original copies are rarely seen and command £500 on ebay. This limited edition of 1500 individually numbered copies is likely to be very popular with collectors and sell out fast.

Dan Lacksman is a Belgian electronic music pioneer who co-founded the Electro Pop Dance formation Telex and is credited for their classic 'Moskow Diskow.' He also worked under the Transvolta name but put out only one single, 1978's impossibly hard-to-find classic 'Disco Computer.' Dan himself has carefully remastered the original for this special 12" reissue. It's still a retro-future sound all these years later with the signature talk box vocals and sleek drum machines under cosmic synths. On the flip is a long version of 'You Are Disco' which is a similar vibe but with a slightly more lively groove and vocal. Two serene dancefloor gems by any standards.

Rewind to 1997 and Uk's finest clubs are alight to the tech-house sounds emanating from South London. Terry Francis, a key figure in the scene, needs no introduction, Fabric resident, Wiggle co-founder, as well as part of the seminal Housey Doingz collective, 'Dubtown' was his first solo outing, all 4 tracks are instant classics, and the EP itself has become his most sought after release to date. The tracks themselves are varied and brilliant, EP opener 'Hannah's House' kicks off with an infectious bass line and builds with expertly programmed percussion. Simple yet effective riffs intertwine with warm pads and deep chord stabs. 'Hannah's Dub' strips the track down, eerie synths add a tuneful swagger without ever losing dancefloor appeal. 'As You Cry' broadens the sonic palette with swinging rhythms, crisp snares and dreamy chords that deliver the peak time funk and bump. Lastly 'Reggae's House' is a deep dub infused jam, acidic 303 touches combine effortlessly with pads and stabs, whilst echoing bursts of percussion make some real tripped out musical moments.
