Tom Findlay and Tim Hutton form Sugardaddy, responsible for the tasty cover of the notorious classic 'How Long' from Ace. For this next release Hamburg's finest Tensnake puts his own spin on 'How Long' with two impressive remixes, with the 'Vocal Remix' achieving more than a staggering 56,000 plays in the first two weeks on Soundcloud.Born and raised on a diet of disco, soul, boogie and funk, Marco Niemerski aka Tensnake is nothing short of a class A producer and music connoisseur, having spent most of his life collecting records and being inspired by icons such as the legendary Larry Levan. Marco soon began to make his own music resulting in a string of highly successful releases on labels such as Defected and his own record label Mirau. Now an international star, Marco is soon to drop his debut album early in 2013. The single 'How Long' is taken from the recently released Late Night Tales compilation 'Music For Pleasure' - re-edited and mixed by Tom Findlay as a seamless voyage through some of the finest soulful pop music of the 70s and early 80s. Tom Findlay says of the record, "it's very much a 'concept' record, blue eyed soul, yacht rock. Vibe was very much tunes that I used to blast on the tour bus. When it first slipped out in 2015, Manabu Nagayama’s ‘Light & Shadow’ passed most people by. Yet it’s a genuinely overlooked gem a musically expansive and uplifting Japanese deep house workout that first featured on a promo-only compilation back in 2015. A softly spun slab of slow-building brilliance full of fluid piano motifs, heady hand percussion, the track effortlessly sashays between heartfelt dancefloor melancholia and tactile deep house positivity. One DJ to see its potential was Rush Hour co-founder Antal Heitlager, who asked Masalo to remix it. Over ‘a few years’, Masalo worked on the revision in bursts, tweaking it and subtly altering the arrangement until he was happy. The results are undeniably impressive, elevating an already excellent track to whole new levels. DJs seem to agree, too, with Masalo’s fine remix becoming something of an underground anthem following the release of a limited number of white label test pressings earlier last year.

Taking the spiritual end of deep house as his inspiration – and happy memories of attending events while visiting Japan – the Dutch-Japanese producer has delivered a slowly-building epic that subtly ratchets up energy and excitement throughout, while effortlessly eking out every last drop of emotion from Manabu’s piano-laden production.

Extensively road-tested at the Brighter Days parties he runs with long-time DJ partner Kamma, Masalo’s remix settles into a chugging groove before introducing Manabu’s tactile hand percussion – a staple of spiritual deep house cuts – and melancholic piano refrains, as well as his own lilting chords and cascading synth sounds. By the time the original’s bouncy piano riff drops midway through, you’ll be lost in the music. Fittingly given the quality of Manabu’s original, it’s a revision that showcases the track’s best elements while gently lifting it to new heights.

GLBDOM sub-label GLBDOM Classic is dedicated to nostalgic house sounds inspired by the great styles of Chicago, Detroit and New York vibes, with hints of Italo-Dream house and even the Balearics. We get all that here on this new split EP from French house producer Sunny Galaxy and Englishman Dan T. Sunny opens up with some happy, piano-laced party starters, well-swung garage-house grooves and steamy basement jams, then Dan T offers a B-side trio headed up by the gloriously vocal laced 'Wrong Time.' 'My Desire' cuts up the groove with some nice raw percussion and 'Want To Love You' is a sultry and jazz-tinged number for lovers.

From the catlogue of Italy's charismatic Interactive Test label, helmed by the Falsini brothers, Sound Metaphors Records compiles a selection from the two volume "How To Use The World" series. A collection of raw, experimental proto sounding house numbers composed and played by Marco Calderoni with help on production and writing by Giacomo Brunetti. Originally released in 1991, these releases have since then become deeply craved items amongst collectors and specialists of Italo House. With a sound so unmistakably unique, these productions will be hard to forget, from a time when house music wasn't even concretely established as a genre, these experimental proto nuances in club oriented sound played a defining role in Italy's emerging club sound. Thoroughly remastered at manmade mastering in Berlin, same sound new body.

Classic Soul, remastered von den Originaltapes. 'Stay With Me' (1980) war der erste Release der Female-Formation Crystal Clear, kuratiert von dem gefeierten Jazz-Multiinstrumentalisten aus Philadelphia, Morris 'Mo' Bailey, und produziert von Doug King. Soul startlers Crystal Clear (not to be confused with the many house and drum & bass artists of the same name) laid down 'Stay With Me' in the mid-1970s. The song is a sweet and romantic, yet no less punchy, ditty, packed with contrasts between flitty, fay vocals (from an unknown singer no less) and a heavy-set drum recording to juxtapose. Now re-released via Soul Brother, we're reintroduced to the song in all its hip-swanging glory. Just as its themes deal well with reconciliation, we feel to have been reunited with its charms, as we eagerly oblige the command to "stay"...

Marco Repetto was a member of the world-famous wave/punk band Grauzone. In the late '80s, he delved into techno, ambient, and psychedelic music, drawing inspiration from nature and shamanic knowledge. His performances are described as colorful, playful, and mind-opening experiences. His main project now is "Bigeneric," which he releases on his label, Inzec Records.

Stefan Riesen has been a prominent figure in the Swiss techno scene since 1995. He is the founder-manager of Phont Music, SuperBra, Morris/Audio, Floppy Funk, and Speaker Attack. He has (co-)produced numerous tracks under various aliases on different labels, including Box Blaze, Flaptrack, Hooper, Nylon, Sonic Tourism, Spin, A3000, Box Blaze & Deetron, Dialogue, Lausen, R.B.R., Sidestepper, Silver Zone, Skank Burner, Synectics, and more.


Mark Wigan was an influential pioneer of urban art in New York, Tokyo and London during the 1980s and 90s. Amongst other, he did the whole The Brain club visuals, as well as several records sleeves for Frankie Bones, A Guy Called Gerald and Bobby Konders. His work explores and responds to anthropology and subcultures, evoking a magical symbolism and the collective unconscious, ancient motifs and the beginning of language itself he has created a whole universe of compelling artworks. He was also involved in illustrating the London club scene. Mark draw the visuals for this album.

The original Berlin dance floor trouble makers from the early 90s, Saba Komossa and Gabi Delgado's joint project Anti-Time was a powerful soundtrack to Berlin's nightlife after the wall came down. Merging their naive curiosity with access to latest studio equipment guided by an unmatchable instinct for what works on a dancefloor, Gabi and Saba created a sound so classic and unmistakably their own that still today it refreshes the ears. For many an established masterpiece, for others a time capsule love message from over 3 decades ago, but for everyone it's an essential piece of European club scene history. This album combines both of the known Anti-Time releases from 1990 and 1991 into one release.
