Whilst some feature raw percussive techniques to give them a raucous, club-focused edge, others incorporate soulful female vocals and keep things minimal. How many forms can a drum break take across the course of one EP? Needing little introduction are TIN mainstays Frankel & Harper who, with the help of Bakey, help us get to an answer. Buffalo Skank EP is a celebration of breakbeat. Whilst proving the duo's prowess in rhythmic variety, there is an emphasis on fun as they form complex drum patterns only for them to be chopped and screwed into myriad formations. At times, an Amen break is accompanied by blissed-out atmospherics borrowed from old school dnb ("Buffalo Skank"). At others, an unapologetic rhythm drives forward as if crushing anything in its way ("Oblivion"). On "Taz &" ricocheting snares evoke the music of junglist Sully before Bakey strips them entirely in favour
of a more minimal sound.

Bristol native Daffy returns to Shall Not Fade with his second solo EP, focusing on the darker aspects of 4x4 garage.

The title track typifies Daffy's unique and forward-thinking take on UKG. The dynamic chant of a dancehall MC is ramped up to invigorate a UKG stomper, the product: a rude, flavoursome track which evokes Spooky and Riko Dan's "High Power". Serious. The aptly-named "Darker Days" is more reminiscent of El-B with cool-toned low end growls before "Take It Easy" and "Warped" bring
things to an energetic close with a stomping 4x4 rhythm and warped bassline which nod to old school speed garage.

Tracks are a natural Evolution on of what Visions Recordings is constantly developing, a sound that goes from jazz to deep techno mixing the new generation with the veterans producers.

The ep starts with a Broken house jam by ALEX ATTIAS featuring the magical keys of SOHAN WILSON, a mix between broken and house rhythms made with the MPC 2000xl and some lovely keyboards and Rhodes by the one an only Sohan Wilson taking you onto a jazzy journey . On the same side, LIFE RECORDER is back on VISIONS and delivers here a melodic deep techno house track for the late nights filled with soulful vibes and wonderful warm percussions .
On the B side, JUNE JAZZIN, known for his deep house releases, offers here a soulful deep house track with lead solo to make you dance and fly high into a killer journey into house music. Environ is proud to announce the reissue of Morgan Geist's cult classic Super. Originally released in summer 2001, the record is an ode to New York City and many of the producer's most vital influences. With live strings from the Kelley Polar Quartet and plenty of disco DNA, it's no mystery that this was made by half of Metro Area (and released just months before their underground classic "Miura"). wAFF makes a triumphant return to Hot Creations after a seven-year hiatus with his three-track, groove-driven ‘Slapfunk EP’. Since his first outing back in 2012, wAFF has been an integral part of the Hot Creations family, remixing various releases and dropping a total of four EPs - the last being ‘Sick Pleasure’ in 2016, which still stands today as a highlight in the label’s extensive catalogue. Marking a long-awaited return to Jamie Jones and Lee Foss’ beloved imprint after seven years, with material via renowned labels such as Solid Grooves, Cocoon, Desolat and his very own NATURE imprint over that period further establishing him as a leading name, he arrives fresh from his third Paradise show of the season ready to ignite dancefloors with a trio of irresistible beats on ‘Slapfunk’. New Zealand disco-boogie outfit Flamingo Pier plant some Brooklyn roots with their fresh new ‘Beneath the Neon EP’ on Razor-N-Tape. Known for parties in East London and their massive hometown festival, as well as previous releases on Soundway, the Kiwi collective deliver a trio of new songs that solidify and expand their signature danceable blue-eyed indie-soul sound.

Lead off single 'How 2 Feel' shows a clubbier side of the band, with a pulsating house rhythm track and layers of angular synth stabs, vibey horn lines, and vocal chants. 'Beneath the Neon' and 'Remedy' are more familiar Flamingo Pier territory, upbeat indie disco anthems that boast incendiary vocal hooks, funky guitar work, and crisp production by Luke Walker.

Rounding out the EP are remixes by Chicago house legend Glenn Underground, and RNT co-head JKriv, whose mix features a guest appearance by Afro-boogie royalty Steve Monite.

Oozing with hazy sun, Beneath the Neon is the perfect soundtrack to soak up the dog days of summer.
