Embarking on our musical journey with Wiremu, originally from New Zealand and now based in Leeds, we set sail with his EP, "The Subtle Hustle." Beyond a personal passion, Wiremu's dedication to music production serves as a tribute to his Maori heritage, infusing his compositions with profound cultural depth. "The Subtle Hustle," the opening track, forges a dynamic tone with deep bass, punchy percussion, and house-infused Rhodes chords. Minimal references and synthetic rips seamlessly fuse, creating a captivating dance track. Following a masterful release from Dubfound, Ukrainian label Modeight is back again with another superb 12". This time it's UK brotherly duo Clay & Heath Ostrer, also known as Last Pines who are centre stage. The pair serving up 4 silky smooth, and seductively deep minimalist house tracks. The A-side kicks off with and title cut "Solon" as it delves deeper with its bumping, low slung attitude. A certified bass face initiator featuring a cheeky nod to the Matrix. Followed by A2's "Drift", a hazy, funk infused roller that meanders effortlessly below some echoed brass. A flip to the B-side and we continue with "Nocturnal", a darkly hued, warehouse worthy jam, featuring raspy, robotic vocal samples and tonal overlays. Finally we finish with B2's "Go Ahead", a badass banger with a supreme subsonic undercarriage that takes no prisoners. Always in fine form with their artist selection, Modeight provides the gold once more. More

Silat Beksi makes an emphatic return to the fore of his label Modeight, and this time he's in the collaborative company of Moscow's finest Swoy. The pair are a match made in heaven, as they traverse a multitude of sonic destinations on their aptly titled "Starburst" EP.

With their granular approaches to production well established, the pair take off with the deep undulations of "Allophone". A groove that bangs beneath a shimmer of silver tones. "Pro2" continues the journey with it's upbeat bassline swagger, and raucous key strokes.

On the flip side "The Escapist" pours ultra dreamy pads like liquid over powerful rhythmic flow, until at least we finish with the heart warming heights of the title track "Starburst". With an effortlessly refined collab like this, we hope its not their last. More

Continuing its incredible run of high grade releases, Silat Beksi's Modeight imprint turns out its 14th record with mighty Moldovan producer Dubfound. Spread across 4 tracks, his "No Time For Wind" EP winds its way through a classy and cutting edge minimalist house vibe. The A-side begins with the mind bending, "Mishkitsunami", a raw and raucous cut. Following on we dive deeper into "Clouds Are Flying Down", a fluid and enigmatic slice of pure rhythmic flow. On the B-side the irresistible head bumping groove of "Wet Heads" kicks things off. A collab with fellow Moldavan compatriot Dupostim. That electric bassline set to be surefire winner with club goers. And finally, title track "No Time For Wind" finishes things off with its graceful after hours hypnosis. Pressing on and extending an already incredible discography, Silat Beksi's imprint Modeight welcomes Irish talent Laughing Man to the family. On an impressive streak of his own following his Debut LP 'Divided Mirrors' Laughing Man continues to ply deep and divine house music territory with his exquisite skill. The A-side kicks off with 'Favourite Past Time', a swooning breakbeat roller that also gets a funked up remix with a signature boogie basseline by Romanian stalwart Triptil. On the flip side it's an intimate two step affair on B1's 'Lucid Thinking', a seductive, low slung session complete dulcet piano stokes and heady atmospheres. And to finish things off were go soul searching on the aptly named B2 cut 'Emotion'. Once again Laughing Man cuts to the core with his precision and prose. Adding a beautiful touch to the Modeight mantra. More

Ever in search of the freshest and most forward thinking minimal talent, Ukrainian label Modeight returns with its 10th release. This milestone 12" sees the imprint tap Canadian beat smith ckb, who delivers an intimate and groovy affair entitled "Round-Robin". Now based in Leeds, the Canadian has spent over a decade exploring both contemporary and left field production techniques. Working meticulously to strike a healthy balance between the two that delivers on the dancefloor. ckb certainly accomplishes this across the EP, as the youngster fires up with 4 distinctive cuts that are energized by complex rhythmic elements and heady atmospheric tones. A well deserved feature for the Canadian who is a perfect addition to the Modeight family. More

For their 9th outing they've enlisted the skills of Sarajevo based producer and rising talent Zlatnichi as he offers up his dazzling "Baobabakka" EP, full of innately groovy hooks and sonic intensity. Having contributed to 12" releases on Serbian imprint Red District and Miami's Basswalk Records, Zlatnichi continues to display a mature and captivating sound. Overlaying a hazy cross section of tripped-out sampled and electronics over effortlessly fluid rhythms. Modeight nails yet another masterful collaboration here, showcasing a talent that's sure to have a big year head of him. More

Ukraine's minimal hypnotist Silat Beksi now prepares to make his signature mark on his label Modeight with the aptly titled "On My Own" Ep. This is his first solo contribution to the label, having initially christened its opening with the heady, breakbeat infused stylings of the "Inception" EP. The result of a collaborative effort alongside Heidelberg producer Durrrred. Modeight's discography already boasts a roster of producers who are pushing boundaries in the minimal field, with Romania's RQZ and Dragutesku, Germany's Durrrred and "Methylat" duo Virkut & Amin Ravelle's combined output constituting a powerful sonic statement for Modeight. Silat himself continues to delve deep into his extensive musical influences, showing no signs of slowing his creative output as the talent prepares to release more music on Welsh imprint Curtea Veche and Milan label Hashplant. This EP sees Silat in his element as he laces nuanced rhythms on top of funky bassline riffs and hazy electronic artefacts, cementing himself once again as a unique and characteristically engaging artist.
